The size and scope of the site. The amount of excavation that had to be completed and the number of acres still to be excavated is just massive.

Wow wow wow ! Natalia is a hidden gem in Italy not only are you getting a tour guide you are getting someone who studied modern history she truly has an I depth knowledge of not only pompeii but all modern history, yes there are other tour guides but if your lucky and you can hire Natalia you will have a great experience
Poor signage

The downloaded voucher has the meeting point prominently in two places. But that long walk is NOT the place to get the tickets. The smaller description is not clear and there are no signs pointing g to it. When we found the location they continued to try to sell us a tour or audio and would not give us the tickets until the office the office filled with people that would buy tours. At this time of year and first thing in the morning we would not have needed a jump the line. Other Viatour have been great. This was a total waste of time and money.

The voucher sent by Viator gave an address to exchange for tickets. This was 3 quarter of a mile walk to be told that they had to be exchanged back at the station where we came from. To say I am angry is an understatement. A 1 and half mile walk in 37 degrees ruined the experience before we got in. I will never use viator again

We went to four different spots to retrieve our pre paid tickets and no one could find them. It was extremely hot and crowded and agents patience was not very good. We finally bought tickets to visit Pompeii. The problem was that there was no internet to help us with the download. This is my second bad experience with v Viator. I will not use this company again nor will I recommend this company. I would like a refund of $54.64 to my credit card- which information you have.

Easy to book and ticket office is easy to find. Exactly as they say - first floor of the train station building. We booked their guide last minute and so glad that we did as it is HUGE and you’d never get to see all the good bits and learn extra facts.

Great agent. Very welcoming. Make sure you get off at the correct Pompeii train station, there are two. The office is adjacent to the station. The agent suggested an upgrade to a guided tour. Good advice since Pompeii is vast and we were much more efficient with our limited available time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable.

The site of Pompeii was wonderful. I stayed there for 4 hours. It was uncrowded and an absolute delight. However, the info. provided to pick up the tickets was missing or at least incomplete. I received only an address from Viator which, via Google Maps sent me to the top of the hill and an exit only, and no tickets to pick up. They sent me back down the hill to the main entrance gate. I entered, stood in line to pick up my ticket, just to be told I had to go across the street to the train station. Ultimately, the ticket pickup location was easy to find, once directed ther, and my tickets were handed out to me immediately. But why, oh why, didn't Viator provide the information on specifically where to pick up the tickets. Iran around for about 45 minutes trying to figure it out or standing in line for information to find my "skip the line" tickets. Good job I arrived early.

Pompeii, of course, is one of the world’s great archaeological sites, and it never disappoints. We used Viator to secure entry tickets, and the process worked very well. Minimum fuss and minimum wait. We were able to enter the site without delay and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Honestly it’s not worth the money. The place where you have to pick up the tickets are hard to find and when we got there they had a hard time finding our reservation. It’s cheaper to buy from the official website and you save time as well. All in all a generally bad experience.

Dear John, I am sorry to read this. I don't understand how could be difficoult to reach our office, we are at the 1st floor of the train station, in front of the main entrance of Pompeii ruins. For the price, it's clearly written you paid a little extra for the skip the line service. By the way, have a good day

The y Did not allow me to enter with my guest. I was running around , back and forth to where the voucher instructions told me to go And they still said, "these are not our tickets" or " just go to x,y,z" I had to buy 3 more. I called my credit card company to see if I could get a refund.

Tivemos problemas para localizar a empresa responsável pela entrega dos tkts. Além disso, a funcionária que nos entregou não explicou de forma correta onde fica o estacionamento incluído no preço do ingresso. Tivemos que pagar 12 euros por ter usado o estacionamento errado, que fica ao lado da loja que retiramos os tkts. Não sei se faz parte das regras do parque, mas os tkts poderiam ser digitais. No pacote poderia ser incluído um áudio guia, pois o parque é muito grande e é fácil se perder.

Vi fandt ud af på vores rejse, at vi ville ankomme senere til Pompeji end forventet. Jeg skrev derfor direkte til min turarrangør, hvorvidt det var muligt at ændre tiden for ankomst. Jeg fik hurtig svart tilbage, at det ikke var noget problem - vi kunne bare komme, og han skulle nok give sine kollegaer besked. På dagen for besøget var vores lokale guide ikke til meget hjælp, men vi fandt selv hen til det kontor hvor billetterne skulle afhentes (det kontor ligger lige ved siden af hvor man normalt vil købe billetter), og da der ikke var kø kunne vi hurtig komme videre. Vi valgte at gå på opdagelse i Pompeji uden guide, men vi havde appen med Rick Steves, som fungerede godt for os. Vi vil helt sikkert anbefale denne løsning til andre, som ønsker at se Pompeji på egen hånd. Det vil vi i hvert fald gøre igen.
