What To Expect

If you’ve chosen to depart from Positano, make your own way to the beach and greet your personal skipper. Alternatively, receive departure details for Praiano or Amalfi after confirmation.

Climb aboard your boat, reserved exclusively for you and your party, and receive a glass of Prosecco or mineral water once you’ve settled into a comfortable seat.

Sit back as your skipper steers the boat along the enchanting Amalfi Coast, deemed a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its outstanding natural beauty. Gaze at jagged limestone cliffs and white sand beaches before arriving at the Emerald Grotto (Grotta dello Smeraldo), which you can enter for an additional fee. Glide through dim caverns and marvel at the emerald-green hue created by sunlight filtering through crevices.

Then, stop in the town of Amalfi to enjoy its winding streets and a plethora of seafood restaurants. See, too, Duomo Ravello, an 11th-century cathedral perched on a mountain overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Return to the boat and visit a grotto near to Maiori before choosing to enjoy lunch, at your own expense, at a restaurant exclusively accessible by boat.

Your tour concludes back at your original departure point.

Our guide, Gianfranco, was wonderful! He took us to all the best places, took photos of us, provided a lot of history and knowledge about the area, and was great to have a conversation with while on the boat. The boat was comfortable and clean and had everything you needed. We had a fabulous time!

This private boat tour is such an incredible way to see the Amalfi Coast, including some hidden gems and areas only accessible by boat. Unfortunately for us, it was raining the entire time we were in Positano, and the waves were so rocky that ferries were cancelled most days. Leading up to our boat day, Elizabeth communicated with us to let us know of the conditions. Luckily the waters were calm on the day our boat was booked, although it was set to rain all day. Elizabeth called to let us know we could go out if we wished, but did not pressure us at all. We opted to go out, and were met by friendly staff, knowledgeable and attentive captains and a very nice and well maintained boat. Although we were not able to fully enjoy the boat and swim in the incredible places we stopped at due to the weather, we still enjoyed our time and it was obvious the trip would be well worth the price in normal sunny conditions. We hope to come back to Positano in the future during better weather and book this tour again, and would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting. It’s a small family run business that truly cares about their customers and ensuring everyone has a wonderful experience.

This was the highlight of our trip! We went with our children—11, 8, and 5 and had a wonderful day. Blue Star was so accommodating and let us choose what we wanted to do along the coast. We started in Amalfi where it was super easy to coordinate and board our boat. We swam a few places and you can’t beat the views of the Amalfi coast. We stopped in Positano for lunch and wandered around. When we were finished there was a long line at the docks so Blue Star quickly arranged a small dingy to take us back to our boat that waiting for us. We swam some more and our captain provided us with a delicious snack and beverages. 100% worth every penny.

If you are able to take this boat trip- don’t pass it up! Mario our captain made it a day we will remember forever and making 6 females happy all day is no small task. Swimming in the Mediterranean was amazing. Explaining the coast line and history in detail. The boat was beautiful and had everything we needed. Mario shared his “two loves” with us… one being the sea. We had an amazing seafood lunch at a restaurant Mario chose for us. Homemade Lemoncellos! A fantastic day all around.

Getting to see the coast from the water was truly amazing. Our captain was very friendly, spoke English well and was accommodating to how we wanted to spend the day. We opted for more swimming and no stops in town for walking around. The only negative was that he suggested a lunch place that was mostly seafood pastas and as you can imagine that was not the best choice after bouncing around on the water in the sun all day.

My wife and I ended our 18 day trip to Italy with a 3 night stay in Positano. We had pre-booked a private boat trip from Positano down the Amalfi coast but didn't know what to expect. What a great experience. Massimo, our Captain, was fantastic. His boat was beautiful and larger than we expected (33 ft). The wine, snacks, fruit, and lemoncello were wonderful! He suggested we have lunch at this restaurant on the water and it was great.Best part of our trip.
