    We didn’t see many whales but the tour guide was kind enough to take us to the Los Arcos for Snorkelling! Heads up to wear your swimsuits and bring towels! The Guide also didn’t speak very much English but it didn’t affect the ability to enjoy the tour. There is also an additional $39.00 Peso Port Charge so I’d recommend coming with $40 Pesos for that as the exchange rates from USD or CAD is poor. Overall I recommend and would take this tour again, but I believe the tips above will make it more enjoyable

    Whale Watching in Puerto Vallarta: A Mixed Bag of Marvels and Missteps

    I recently took part in the whale watching experience in Puerto Vallarta, an adventure that's touted as a unique, once-a-year opportunity. The anticipation for this event was high, given the detailed description and promises made. However, there were a few aspects of the experience that did not meet our expectations, leading to a three-star rating. Firstly, the communication barrier posed a significant challenge. The crew's limited proficiency in English made it difficult for us to fully engage with the experience and understand the insights being shared about the whales and their habitat. This was a notable drawback, as it diminished our overall enjoyment and understanding of the whale watching tour. Another issue was the lack of bottled water onboard. Despite the listing explicitly stating that bottled water would be provided, this was not the case. For an activity that spans several hours out at sea, staying hydrated is crucial, and this oversight affected our comfort and satisfaction. Additionally, the advertisement did not mention snorkeling, which was a bit misleading. Fortunately, we were already dressed in swim gear, anticipating the possibility of getting wet, but clearer communication on what to expect regarding water activities would have been appreciated. Our biggest grievance, however, came with the unexpected port fee. We were surprised to be charged a $39 per person fee in pesos upon arrival, a cost not mentioned anywhere in the tour's description. Since I only had USD on me, the conversion rate applied was not the current exchange rate, leading to an effective charge of $49 per person in pesos. This lack of transparency regarding additional costs significantly impacted our experience and the perceived value of the tour. While the opportunity to watch whales in their natural habitat off the coast of Puerto Vallarta was indeed extraordinary, the issues mentioned above marred what could have been a flawless adventure. It's crucial for future participants to be aware of these potential challenges and for the organizers to address these concerns to ensure a truly remarkable experience for all.

    The tour was very poorly organized, there was a captain who didn't speak english and requested a port fee (never gave the change). He was running around not knowing what to do. Obviously no water provided (even though the description said it would). When the boat took off, we were stopped by the marine guard to check all the documents, and apparently some documents were missing but at least they found the captain on the system so they let us go. The wait time all in all was ~1.5h. But we did see some whales - which is not surprising, because it's a whale season and has nothing to do with this tour operator. Another good thing that the boat was small and not a lot of people (less than 10).

    There was a $13 port charge that we were not told about. We left late.. the boat was over packed and we didn’t get to see the whales due to people blocking the view. The boat captain was great but no water was on board as stated in the reservation.

    In my reservation said we would have a English tour guide and water. Guide didn't speak English and said nothing at all during our trip. Also said water was included. No water. Then.we went los arcos which was not stated to snorkel that would of been nice to know that we would of been prepared.

    We saw at least a dozen humpback whales during our tour. Very reasonable price. Definitely worth it.

    Keurig ontvangen op de afgesproken locatie. Met een kleine eenvoudige boot de zee op en binnen no time meerdere groepen walvissen gespot. Kapitein vertelde niet veel. Sprak ook weinig Engels maar ervaring sprak voor zich. Ervaring is op een kleinere boot veel beter dan op een groter schip.
