Great excursion. Nice and stable boat. Bandelas Bay is beautiful. Nice ride on the water with a great team. Panda is an excellent guide giving good educational information about the maritime fauna. The food was also good. The captain made sure we see well the whales and was following them safely and in respect.

Worth the money

Saw plenty of whales, dolphins, and sea turtles. Had breakfast and lunch provided. There was a photographer taking pictures of everyone, but we never saw them or was not told where to view them.. Very disappointed......

Mike’s is the Best Whale Watching Experience Ever

Excellent Mike’s Fishing and Tours on a 72 foot Catamaran in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in February is the absolute best!!! We saw adult male humpbacks fighting ( trying to make a good impression on female humpbacks) slapping their tails, pectoral fins, and breaching over and over! Also adult female and baby humpbacks breaching as lessons for life. Also saw Sea Turtles and Dolphins too! The professional chef had breakfast snacks followed by terrific fresh Ceviche, chips, Marlin burritos, ham and cheese paninis and All Alcohol included!!! The great staff included Panda (very funny and informative) Jorge, Liz Miguel, Johnny, Mike and absolutely the best Captain Pablo!! We have taken many whale tours in the past and only saw a few tails and spouts from a distance… this was fantastic seeing so many that were so active and fun! Easy to take pictures and videos of these majestic animals since we were close, the whales so plentiful, and active as they are every year during this time due to birth and breeding times!!

The crew was engaging and very informative. The lunch was tasty and fresh. We saw at least 15 whales on the morning excursion. I have been on several whale watching trips in Puerto Vallarta and this was the best by far.

What a great experience. We were one of the larger boats but weren't packed with people like the other larger boats. We had someone with us who gets motion sickness and the larger boat made it possible for them to go with us an enjoy. It was educational and enjoyable and we saw a lot of whales. Food wasn't spectacular but the service was. Definitely recommend going with this company!

Seeing so many whales and 4 dolphins was wonderful. All of the crew was extremely attentive. Lunch delicious and was local fare made on board. Ricky, I think our guides name was, was entertaining while als being very informative

A great crew -- knowledgeable and friendly. There was a bit of confusion about the meeting time stated in our on-line booking, maybe because we booked so far in advance. We showed up almost two hours before the start time. We saw many mother/calf pairs, and a couple of 'escort' groups where a male hangs around with the pair. a couple of broaching whales. We saw some dolphins, too, and the crew explained they were likely near the whales to steal milk from the calf. The crew offered some light eats, and adult beverages. There was adequate cover for everyone to avoid sunburn. When we return to PV, we're very likely to repeat the trip.

Don't Miss Excursion

What a FANTASTIC, Don't Miss experience! We saw about 6 different families of whales that kept surfacing & spraying numerous times!! Saw many tails as well. Our guide, Panta was funny & engaging with everyone. Drinks & lunch were good.. excellent vegetarian ceviche (I don't like it with fish) that was so good! Highly recommend.

Cruise was good, before & after not so much

The cruise itself was great. It was before and after that were the problems. The pick up place should have been Puerto Magico, having just the street did no good for Uber and we were dropped off 10 minutes away. The time was listed as 7:45am for a cruise that left at 9:30, so we had quite a wait. All this falls on Viator. The second issue was the cruise picking up people from the cruise ships first. When it pulled up, there were very few seats left for those of us that had been waiting at the dock? The last issue we had falls on the cruise people. We left out of Puerto Magico and got dropped off 15 minutes north of there and had to fend for ourselves to get back to Puerto Magico. No one alerted us to this before the cruise and it cost us quite a bit to get back to our condo. Of course the people from the cruise ships had transportation back.

Whales and booze!

The whale-watching tour was an enjoyable experience. They provided a light breakfast and lunch and the tour also included an open bar, the staff was friendly and very attentive. The MC who provided commentary for most of the tour was funny and very entertaining. Overall we had a great time. My only complaint is not knowing the name of the actual tour company beforehand, it didn't say it anymore on the website where I made the reservation or on the ticket so when we arrived at the port we kept getting asked the name of the company was and it was very confusing, thankfully there were plenty of employee's around to assist us, FYI if you book this tour the company is called Mike's Fishing & Tours.
