Fun Whale watching

It was an amazing experience! We saw some whales, dolphins, and sting rays. The service was exceptional as well as the food and drinks. I will warn you to not sit back completely in the chairs as the boat is moving or you might tip over. Bring plenty of sunscreen too.

We sailed out for about an hour full of hope to see a whale, sea was quite choppy at times, I’d recommend long sleeves as wind can be quite cool even though it was a really hot day, drinks were plentiful, food was okay but that’s not really what we’d gone for. Then we saw a whale, fallowed by many more, we saw the mother with her calf and definitely got close enough to see them well, the young were breaching, plenty of time and photo/video opportunities, amazing experience and definitely lived up to expectations.

Great crew and organization. Very informative and they seemed to really know the individual animals. We did go at the end of season, but that didn’t seem to matter. At one point, I could see a sea turtle a dolphin and a whale all in my sight line. Highly recommend.

Getting to see the whales and dolphins. Crew was nice. Would be better if chairs were anchored in some way as a couple of people were tipped over going over the waves.

Lots of Whales and Dolphins but Little English Narrative

We enjoyed the trip seeing whales, dolphins, sea snakes, sea turtles even a ray BUT the description was NOT what occurred on the boat. There were indeed plenty of drinks! but breakfast was served not lunch. Believing that we would have LUNCH aboard we had eaten breakfast. Therefore we ate nothing. No snacks were served unlike what was listed in the description. The crew, especially the pilot, were very helpful and always willing to get a drink or point to what they were seeing in the water. Most disappointing was the fact that the vast majority of the narrative/information of the animals seen on the cruise was in Spanish but very little was then translated into English. Most of the guests were Spanish speaking. We were very disappointed that little info was given those of us who spoke only English. If you take this excursion be aware that its designed for Spanish speakers.

Whales, whales, and whales!! Loved this tour! Had a hard time after getting off ship finding them. Lost a lot it time in the tourism building right next to ship. But we found them. Hoping company could help with a detailed map.

Amazing views and lots of laughs

El Capitàn got us up close and personal with many pods of humpbacks. Very skilled at navigating the boat. The staff was hilarious and helpful. The main guide was very knowledgeable about all the marine life in the bay. Food was okay, but then again you on a boat looking for whales. We went in the morning, so we got the tale end of the open bar, but it didn’t disappoint. All in all, we had an excellent tour!

Not pleased at all

The tour started well, on the return part of the trip I was charged 18 pesos for a bag of chips (we were the only English speaking people on the tour) when I asked what 18 pesos was in US dollars the young guy said it was 5 US dollars.....we paid for an all inclusive cruise, and 18 pesos is 1 US dollar. Felt like we were taken advantage of. Will never book with this charter again.

An Afternoon with the Whales

One of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Vallarta. We saw probably 30 whales. A mama was teaching her baby how to come to the surface at the beginning of the trip and they swam alongside us at the end. Loved the serene music when whales surfaced. The crew couldn’t have been more attentive. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

OK, this should be a nature experience so why play loud hip hop music the whole time. I want to hear the sounds of the waves and the whales, also adding a hydrophone would add to experience so you could hear whales communicate. Food and drinks OK

Disappointing in almost every way

This tour is run by Vallarta by boat, and it disappointed on several levels. On the plus side, all the staff onboard were friendly and constantly offered us drinks. But the rest of the trip didn’t meet our expectations. The seats on the boat are plastic chairs and are not welded to the boat in any way, so when it was windy the chairs kept flying and a few people fell down. It felt quite unsafe. The tour was supposed to last 4.5 hours and it barely lasted 3 hours. We did see some whales, but mostly from quite a distance, and we could see that several other boats got much closer. The snacks were meager and there was no fruit. We got the sense that the crew as friendly as they were didn’t really know what they were doing. Not worth it.

Do not go on this tour.

Boat didn’t have attached chairs and instead we were forced to sit on plastic chairs that fell over very easily, five minutes into the boat ride the waves were so bad my mother fell over in the chair, and throughout the boat ride this happened to several other people, including children who began to (understandably) cry in fear. Water was incredibly rocky and we still went ahead on the journey only to see a couple of wales. Towards the end of the trip the crew were seen taking smoke breaks and we suspect they were drunk for most of the boat ride. Would not recommend to anyone as there are plenty of other wale watching tours with safer boats, better guides, and more wales. To top it all off at the end the crew had the nerve to ask for tips.

Really easy, comfortable tour, and they were dedicated to ensuring everyone had constant food/drinks/comfort available. We saw spotted dolphin and bottlenose dolphin, not to mention whales. It looks like it's a bigger boat or maybe a little cheesy, but it's the one to choose -- trust me.
