The crew were fantastically fun and friendly. Loved the scenery and endless blue water. Just wish we had more time for snorkeling

Great trip, well organised and the staff amazing.
Tracy_M, Apr 2024
Great trip, well organised and the staff amazing. Very entertaining although I think there should be a note on this trip as there is no water at the waterfall at this time of year. Despite this had an amazing trip.
Response from Host, Apr 2024

Great day on the water exploring
Lori_S, Apr 2024
The boat ride was great, such beautiful views. The crew was very helpful. We did a little snorkeling at the Majahuitas Beach but the water was murky. They told us this as we got ready to snorkel, that it’s only clear in the summer. We did a banana boat ride which was fun. After some drinks we were off to Yelapa. It’s a cute town. We went off to walk to the waterfall but again-as we were ready to go, the guide warned us there’s hardly any water this time of year. It was still pretty. The walk is past a lot of vendors all trying to get you to buy something. Somehow there was no offer to kayak as had been mentioned when we first got on the boat. Maybe it was too wavy. You are told to meet at the umbrellas/liungers on the beach. Then someone comes to take your order-beware! There is no menu so you don’t know until it’s too late that the drinks cost more than twice what you’d pay anywhere else. Also, I’d warn against anyone taking children under 6 years old. Some families had toddlers and you have to swim to shore at the first stop in quite cold water with large breaking waves. There were some stressful moments for those families.

A day on the bay
Douglas_S, Feb 2024
The Yelapa and Majahuitas tour is a good way to get out on the Bay of Banderas and see a couple of very out-of-the-way places that you’re not going to see any other way, unless you have your own boat. The tour started at the PV marina. After you pay the port fees (not included in the fare, but the fees are only about $5 US per person) and get your picture taken (show up at least a half hour before the scheduled sailing time!) you board the boat, which is catamaran that’s maybe 60 feet long with two decks. (This is a power boat—no sails.) We motored up to the Nuevo Vallarta marina to pick up a few people, then headed south across the bay to Majahuitas. We had about 35-40 people aboard, which made it quite comfortable. We anchored about 75-100 feet off the beach and swam in (life jackets were provided). Drinks ashore (and on the boat) were free. While there, took a fun ride on a banana boat. Then it was off to Yelapa, a larger beach with a small town. We transferred to a small outboard which ran up on the beach, where we hung out drinking beer and eating food (food at Yelapa is not free but is fairly reasonable) off the menu of one of the beach restaurants. (There was also a hike available, which a number of people did.) After about 90 minutes, we boarded the boat for the hour-plus voyage back to the PV marina. Fun time, a friendly crowd, and a very affable crew. Bring swim trunks, a light top, a hat, and a light sweater or even a windbreaker-style jacket—it can get pretty windy on the bay.

Awesome
Karen_S, Jan 2024
We had the best time! Did things that would've been scary by ourselves (snorkeling, swimming to shore from the boat). The end show was HILARIOUS. Very nice crew, felt very safe. Thanks Pablo and crew!!!!
Response from Host, Jan 2024

Very nice boat tour.
Rona_T, Jan 2024
Very nice day, crew very helpful and organised. Options to hike or go to the lovely beach, very accommodating. Food was OK, drinks were great. Boat itself was really a bit too big, too many people and not very comfortable with plastic garden chairs. However the crew did a show at the end of the day which was very entertaining and great fun. Overall a very nice day.

DO NOT BOOK
Anne_E, Dec 2023
We did ZERO activities. It was a scam. The boat never stopped. Instead they said they couldn’t make it work today, fed us garbage food, and then went to shore where we had to bus back to the start. No refund offered. I am currently fighting for my money back.
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Hola Anne, We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your tour. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen weather conditions, we had to cancel the activities as your safety is our top priority. According to our records, your reservation was canceled, and Viator processed a full refund. We regret the impact on your experience and appreciate your understanding. Please reach out to Viator for any further assistance. We value your feedback and are committed to improving our services. Warm regards,
Probably doing this again!

Great day on water and shore! Chai, Alejandro, CPT. Ferry and really all the crew were helpful, entertaining and willing to go the extra step to make sure we all had a great time. Beautiful locations and food was tasty. Recommend whole hearteldly unless you just had knee surgery. In that case wait and go when you are recovered, there are some steps into and out of boats.
Fun and great value
Alex_A, Dec 2023
Pancho and crew on boat 1 were very cool, hospitable hosts. The served up great make it your self deli sandwiches with several sides and toppings. They gave you helpful information about where we were going and helped everyone get on and off the boat safely. You will be offered goods by people on the beach and through out the city of Yelapas on your way up to the waterfall. It's to be expected and does go to their community so it is what it is. The guides were helpful to inform you of the situation before hand and they talked up each spot along the way to make the local people feel they were equally represented as potential options. They put on a fun show on the way back and were very diligent about checking on your drink levels and making sure you enjoyed all the food they had to offer. The professional photographers were nice and if you said no they moved on to the next person, we didn't feel any pressure to take or buy any photos. We saw whales on the way back, the captain changed course to stay along side them. We also saw dolphins between mahajuitas and Yelapa. For the price you get to do and see alot. Highly recommend if you are an active type person. This took place in Dec 2024.
Would Definitely Recommend

Fun time, great crew, wish we had more time at Mahajuitas. Food and beverage was very good and the show was very funny.
A massive trip for a little price
Joseph_D, Aug 2023
The most surprising thing about this trip is just how much activity was packed in, almost overwhelmingly so. The crew was very personable and professional, each destination was unique and fun, and on the boat rides to each destination, the food and drink was plentiful. For the price, I couldn't believe how much there was!
Yelapa

Visiting Yelapa, hanging out on the beach and hiking to the Waterfall was amazing. The crew on boat #4 was excellent with an ending unforgettable performance.
A Definite "Do" On Your Puerto Vallarta Trip!
Manuel_P, Jul 2023
All I can say is wow! Had an amazing adventure with Vallarta Adventure's Yelapa & Majahuitas Snorkeling Tour. The day started off with the crew bringing by fruit, coffee and sweets, as we cruised past scenic Puerto Vallarta. Our first stop was snorkeling in incredibly blue water with numerous beautiful fish. We then stopped at Yelapa, which I had visited 25 years ago. A lot has changed and we walked up to a waterfall and through the city, ending our walk on a relaxing beach. Then, it was on to Majahuetas where you could kayak and ride a banana boat (which was the most fun I had in years!) or relax on covered sofas. These, as well as drinks where included in the price. Oh, and the lunch onboard was really good as well. The day finished with a "star-studded" show by our crew which ended the day on a real high. Can't wait to take another tour with Vallarta Adventures -- it was one of the most fun and professional tour companies I've come across! Thanks for great memories.
Just right

The hosts of the tour were so thoughtful in each moment - from clearly explaining all options to guests, to being transparent about the waterfalls low flow due to non rainy season. The “being present” just when you thought “maybe it’s time to go”. I very much appreciated the care and FUN this experience brought to my mother and I celebrating and early Mother’s Day ❤️
Fun day trip
Scott_M, Apr 2023
Snorkeling was fun, but wish you didn’t need to wear a vest. Yelapa was cool, recommend the chairs in front of Del Mar. Staff was great.
AMAZING!!!
Petra_R, Mar 2023
From the start, it was the tour guides that made the experience fun and memorable. Chai, Chuy, Omar, Andrick, Jaime, Alexis, Maity, and Barraza were all friendly, funny, helpful, patient and entertaining. I'm definitely coming back to experience it again and request Boat#8!!
Snorkelling tour with no snorkeling!
Bradley_W, Mar 2023
I booked this tour as part of my 40th birthday present with my family as my children had never been snorkelling before. We were really looking forward to experiencing this together and seeing the marine life Mexico has to offer. The tour took us to the snorkelling point where upon arrival it was apparent that the water was full of jellyfish. We were told by the tour guide that it was "jellyfish season" and it would be too dangerous to enter the water at that point. We were then taken to another area but the outcome was the same. The tour guide then said that we would go to yelapa and hopefully afterwards the current would have washed the jellyfish out! We got to shore at yelapa and made our way up through the town to the waterfall. We were not warned however that as you get to the waterfall there is a local man with an iguana. My children were in front of me walking up and the man asked them if they wanted to hold it, which they obviously agreed to. There was no signage and I was not approached by the man before he spoke to the children and before I knew it I was having to pay him for letting them hold the iguana! This is clearly a regular thing and something the tour guide should have mentioned to us all on the way up to the waterfall. We departed yelapa and revisited the snorkelling spot, this was still overrun with jellyfish and it was announced that the snorkelling was cancelled. This was very disappointing for us as it was the only reason I booked the tour. The guide said that it was nature and these things happen, however he had previously said it was jellyfish season so there was an obvious awareness of this event and the possibility of not snorkelling. I don't think this tour should be advertised as a snorkelling tour if it potentially contains no snorkelling! Had I known this then I wouldn't have booked it and wasted a day of our holiday. I also purchased snorkels on board for all 4 of us and was offered no refund. The tour guide then said as we couldn't do that we would do a nature hike at majahuitas instead. We arrived at the beach at majahuitas. We were then told that the hike was a misunderstanding and that it would have been from yelapa to majahuitas but as we had now come from there on the boat that we wouldn't be doing that either. All in all it was a very disappointing day for myself and my family and I believe more clarity is needed when advertising this excursion.
Nice day trip
Michele_K, Feb 2023
The crew on boat #5 are professional and welcoming hosts. The food was good and their onboard entertainment was great. The beverages were plentiful. Walking through the town of Yelapa is an eye opening glimpse into the daily life of Mexicans. It is a beautiful little town and the waterfall is worth the walk. Getting to the swimming beach was in my opinion terrifying. The surf was so strong you could barely get your feet under you to stand without being sweep back. The kayaking was lame but the snorkeling was pretty good.
Photo book is equal part waterfalls and beach
Sheryl_B, Jan 2023
Fantastic crew, made costume changes and were very fun! Picure book was frustrating, only one member of group went to falls so half the book was wasted on just that one person at the falls. They don't adjust to make the book appealing to the whole family. Lots of activities like corn hole and banana boat rides were included. Great time had by all!
