What To Expect

This Québec City sightseeing river cruise departs from the Chouinard Pier. Climb aboard the AML Louis Jolliet, a 170-foot cruise ship named after the famous French-Canadian explorer. Choose from any of the three distinctive exterior terraces or settle into the air-conditioned dining area. Either way, the views from the Saint Lawrence River will be breathtaking.

Enjoy this entertaining and educational sightseeing tour of Québec City and the surrounding countryside, cruising from the Cap Diamant to Montmorency Falls. The Cap Diamant, or Cape Diamond, is the official name of the cape and promontory on which Québec City is located. It’s formed by the confluence of a bend in the Saint Lawrence River to the south and east and the much smaller Saint-Charles River to the north. Montmorency Falls is an 83-meter-high waterfall, an impressive 30 meters higher than iconic Niagara Falls.

Some of the sites to be seen include the historic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac hotel, Canada’s most-beloved hotel and the most-photographed hotel in the world and the historical island borough of Île d’Orléans.

Not Worth the Effort

I expected a more personalized experience than a big ferry ride. The narration was interesting, so maybe the timing was poor because I'd had an excellent tour the day before. The ferry wasn't close enough to take very good pictures, so it was an expensive crowded ride.

Waterfront views

The weather didn’t cooperate.

A Bit of a Disappointment.

Bit of a disappointment for what you got. Returning the Viator voucher for a ticket to board the ship was a pain! Do not suggest you buy from Viator if you want to take the trip; simply show up at the ticket booth. You would be better off simply walking around the town and taking in what it has to offer.

Took the tour in the little restaurant at the back of the ship which is glass and enclosed and provided excellent views. Narrator provided an interesting talk and pointed out sites and industrial operations as well as other ships. I found it to be interesting and enjoyable and enjoyed the nachos and drinks.
