Overview

This half-day tour is not just a superb introduction to the Central Otago wine-growing region: this tour is also an invitation to experience the culture and manaaki, or hospitality, of the local Māori community. Start your tour with a traditional Māori greeting and receive the power of the ceremonial haka in a picturesque Otago location. In between, visit several local wineries across the region and sample popular pinot noirs, sauvignon blancs and more.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Great tour, thanks Joe! We were the only ones on the tour, so it was very specialized and attentive. I have had some tours canceled when there were no other participants, but Joe took us out and was an excellent guide!

This was an incredibly special tour with Joe. We felt like family immediately with his genuine warmth. We felt safe and well cared for all day learning about Māori stories and histories and traditions- it was beautiful how he integrated so much of himself and his family and his own history into the tour. Joe was a strong kind leader all day and I am already looking to book again and bring my mother! Truly a tour for all ages and we lived every second! If anything, it was far too short- I’d love an all day option! ☺️ thanks again, Joe

We had a wonderful tour with Joe. This was the best wine tour any of our group has experienced. Joe was a fun and insightful tour guide, we were able to learn so much about culture and drink great wine at the same time. We would recommend this to everyone travelling in this area, it’s a must! My friend and I had a wonderful time on a small group tour from Queenstown with Joe our very knowledgeable driver/guide. We not only enjoyed lovely wine tastings but also learned so much more about Maori culture and tradition. The countryside was beautiful on an early Spring day and the entire tour was just delightful. We especially enjoyed the wine tasting with an abundant cheese-platter. Delicious!! A fun tour!
