What To Expect

This tour transports travelers to one of Ecuador's most popular cultural, scientific and commercial attractions and offers ample time for exploration. The colonial-style architecture of Ciudad Mitad del Mundo showcases the nation's past and a small on-site museum, as well as local shops highlights handicrafts and item indigenous to Ecuador.

Begin your tour with hotel pick up in Quito or meet your guide at the Galeria Ecuador. Climb aboard a 20th-century replica tram drive through the northern part of the capital city. Admission to the Middle of the World is included and travelers will see the monument erected to mark the divide between the Northern and Southern hemispheres, which was defined by French explorers in the 17th Century.

Absolutely Terrible experience!

I booked this tour and they provided me with a pick up time of 2:35pm. I took a taxi to the location and arrived before the provided time only to be told by the front desk that they left. I contacted the company only to be told that the information that was provided to me was inaccurate. They meant to pick me up at 2:03pm not 2:35pm. They kept saying it was a misunderstanding but there was no misunderstanding at all. They provided me a pick up time and I showed up there and they weren’t there at all. No body bothered to call me to ask for my whereabouts when they didn’t see me at the location at 2:03 (keep in mind they told me 2:35). The customer service representative said they will refund me and proceeded to refund me slightly less than the full amount that I paid ($24.99 versus $25, which is fine). But then they said they will refund me for the taxi that I took to and fro to the pick up hotel and I provided my PayPal information and everything as requested and was never refunded for that at all. It was a day of frustration, wasted time and lies. I would give less than 1 star if I could.

Fun time

We were picked up in a red trolley car bus. They were on time for the pick up at Holiday Inn Express Quito, note they will be across the street by the Burger King. The tour was great. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We got our picture with the monument and yellow line. Went inside monument to learn history. Did the egg balance on a nail trick, weighing ourselves to see that we weigh less, and watch water flow forward and backward. English guide spoke really well. Driver was safe. Would definitely use this company again for other tours.

Great, affordable tour! My guide was energetic and spoke good English (he did had to give the tour both in English and Spanish). The site and museum is a good day trip for those who have a couple of hours of time to spare.

False advertising

Please do not book this tour with Htel pick up. It is $6 wasted. The local tour operator asks you to comè to designated pivk up points. Viator shamelessly forwards that request to you. The place is worth visiting.

Not any information arrived at the main monument... quite disappointing. Had a few issues with the bus and didn’t get any compensation on the delay.

A must do for any visit to Quito. Adriana was very friendly and helpful. 2 hours free time was sufficient for all the photo ops and the experiments at the museum.

More of a transport and entrance ticket than a tour

The primary function of this activity is getting to and from the Mitad Del Mundo, and it includes entry fee. The tour guide did provide some history of Quito/Ecuador/Equator during the ride to the site. Upon arrival, he got us into the venue and then let the group do their thing. This was what I was expecting based off description and reviews and what I wanted. We had enough time at the Mitad Del Mundo to also go by the Intiñan Solar Museum which was 3 minute walk from Mitad Del Mundo. The museum has a nice interactive tour as part of their entrance fee which would recommend.

Enjoyed the trip, guide could have been more helpful. We were dropped off at the main monument and then found our way to the secondary equator spot where the guides were extremely helpful. Highly recommend going down the road to this area! Bring your passport to get stamped.

Great value, fun experience

From pickup to drop-off, it took about 4 hours total which I felt perfect for the experience. You are given some time to wander around on your own. The guide (Juan) was very friendly and personable and eager to share his knowledge as well as find out more about each of us. Most of the other tours I'd researched were around $30+ so I thought this was a nice alternative.

Nice tour. It was a bit hard to understand the driver on the bus. Microphone and accent didn't help. Museums were really cool. Wish we had more time at the actual monument. Would have liked to have seen a few more of the exhibits there. It was a good afternoon though.

The young man took on a bilingual tour. However the Swedish couple didn't receive the same level of info. I know because I'm bilingual. Also they received a lackluster guide at the intanan museum. Oursspanish-speaking guide was wonderful! Also he rushed us through the main park. 20 minutes to shop,take pictures etc. Ridiculous! His English wasn't good enough. His attitude left a lot to be desired. He was the only guide in Quito I didn't tip
