Transportation included is from and to Quito’s hotel, located in the Quito urban Zone. It does not include Valleys, Tababela or hotels close to the airport. The extra charge of $ 40 (for the round trip per group) must be paid directly to the driver.

What To Expect

Your tour begins with pickup from your Quito hotel. Traveling by private vehicle, head straight to one of the city’s most prominent landmarks, Panecillo hill. The 655-foot (200-meter) high hill is capped by a famous statue of the Virgin Mary, but the real highlight is the view, which spans the entire city.

Descend into the Old Town and enjoy a walking tour of Quito’s UNESCO-listed monuments, as your guide tells you more about the city’s colonial history. Along the way, stroll through the bustling Plaza de la Independencia, visit the magnificent San Fransisco Monastery, and peek inside the grand Gothic Basílica del Voto Nacional.

Break for lunch (included) at a local restaurant in Quito’s Mariscal area and tuck into some delicious Ecuadorian food. After lunch, relax on the around drive to the Mitad del Mundo—the ‘Middle of the World’—to see the famous Equator line. While you’re there, visit the Intiñan Museum, where you can pose for photos on the ‘equator line’, learn more about Ecuador’s indigenous tribes, and watch a demonstration of the Coriolis Effect.

A short drive from the Mitad del Mundo is the Pululahua Crater, one of only two inhabited craters in the world. Here, you’ll have a chance to visit the small town, then drive to the top of the crater, a wildlife haven shrouded in cloud forest.

Return to Quito where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

      We had an enjoyable trip to Pulalahua Crater for an overlook of the caldera below and a stop by the equator museum to find our more about the "center of the world" and its effects. Finalized with a stroll thru a large part of the historical center, church tour and a stop for lunch in one of the squares. Our guide (Angel) was fantastic and due to an administrative mistake cancelling our tour, he was called and stepped in ....reached us within an hour of us making the call. With no time to plan he picked right up and made this one of the best tours of the trip so kudos to him. Highly recommend.

      All the stops were amazing! If you are looking for a sign you should do this - here it is. The crater was awesome, the equator museum was one of a kind and the art work in the old churches was awe inspiring!

      Great guide and wonderful tour for a day

      Angel was an amazing tour guide. We learned so much from him and he was flexible if we wanted to do something not on the plan or skip something that was. We loved every bit of it and the chocolate tasting is quite good as well as a view into a small business in the old city. Angel knew the history of all the places and was clearly proud of his city. He was also a very good driver and his car is lenty large enough for 6 people and possibly 8. We were only 4 and everyone could stretch out. Ask for Angel for your tour!

      Xavier was a good congenial guide. He took us to extra sights by request, and the tour itself covered a great variety of sights including a crater settlement, Intinan Museum and the most beautiful churches in old Quito. An authentic lunch, where we ate with local businessmen, was included.
