Our guide was fantastic. We were a small group of 8 which was the perfect size. We were not rushed whatsoever. The cave was truly awe inspiring. Our guide offered to take plenty of photos of everyone and even creatively used lighting and suggested poses to get the best photos. It truly could not have been a better experience.

Highlight of our trip!
Yasmin_T, Mar 2024
We had an incredible time, a real highlight of our trip. Definitely something we’d recommend to anyone travelling the south coast. We originally booked ice caves, but were lucky to be upgraded to the full glacier walk too. Looking back, the glacier walk provides better value for money and was our favourite part of the whole tour. We’d definitely recommend paying the difference and getting the full experience. Pickup location wasn’t 100% clear (as there are many tours starting from the same car park) but other tour operators pointed us in the right direction. Communication was really good and we rang a couple of times in advance with different queries and they really helped us out. The drive to and from the ice caves is towards Hofn and in winter this is where you’re able to see reindeers, so be prepared with your camera. Stefan was really knowledgeable and friendly. We loved the dad jokes and tried to get the most out of our time while we were there. He was very patient and had great ideas for photo opportunities. Crampons are included as part of the package, but we’d thoroughly recommend bringing your own “micro spikes” for the car park as well. It was incredibly slippery! Make sure you bring appropriate footwear too (walking boots, not trainers) and waterproof trousers and coat. Also, definitely don’t forget to bring snacks when you go. We ended up being out for 4/5 hours and would have been stuck without some food to keep us going.
Beautiful

Seeing the Ice Caves was amazing. My children 12 and 14 loved taking pictures and walking around in the cave.
Don’t miss this amazing experience

Ice Cave Adventure

The actual tour was amazing! The inside of the ice cave was beautiful. But the guide needs to get a microphone. To begin with he talks very quietly. He was speaking the entire time we were driving to the spot where we parked to hike to the cave. But the road was very bumpy and the engine was very loud. So we couldn’t hear one thing he said. Then when we did get out of the vehicle if he wanted to speak to our group he would talk not waiting for the whole group to be in earshot. So we still couldn’t hear anything he shared.
Amazing experience

Sindri was amazing! We weren't able to do the full tour due to warm weather conditions but the tour that we did do was so much fun! Still got to see some amazing ice caves and walk across the glacier... such a surreal experience! Sindri was great with the small group, 10/10 would recommend.
Not even close to Reykjavik!

Buyer BEWARE! This tour is more than 4 hrs from the Reykjavik area! I booked a family vacation and was in charge of the Things To Do. I booked multiple tours based off reviews on TripAdvisor for Things To Do near Reykjavik. We had been having an awesome time and were looking forward to our tour of the ice caves. The night before our tour I looked at the meeting place so we could be prepared. Not being from Iceland, I am not familiar with the distance between towns. That said, I was looking for things to do near Reykjavik. When I Google Mapped our meeting area for this tour it said our travel time was 4+ hours from Reykjavik with a meeting time of 11am?!? We have no transportation to take our group on that kind of drive, nor could we afford it. I made this discovery after my time to cancel with a refund had expired. I made the discovery around 7pm the night before our scheduled 11am tour. No one to call, no time to attempt travel plans. As soon as I realized the problem I reached out to tour company. I was informed they would not be issuing any sort of refund, which I understand their policy, BUT, to me this is false/deceptive advertising that has cost my family almost $500.00. USD. How can you advertise Things to do near Reykjavik when you're over 4 hours away?
MUST DO!
Chris_C, Mar 2024
What an amazing experience this was! The ice cave was absolutely stunning and the glacier walking was a once in a lifetime opportunity! Also anyone complaining that the car ride is too long, it’s about 30mins and is along rocky terrain in a very cool monster van. The car ride itself was a fun experience which you would probably pay for in other places to do. We also glimpsed a whale in the ocean on our way which was a site to behold! Definitely a must do. Would choose this company as locally run and also they seem to know more about the glacier and take you to hidden areas other groups don’t go to.
5/5

The guide was so funny and he really made the experience 5/5, each cave is different from the year before, so don’t have the expectation to see what you see in the photos, but don’t get me wrong is SO BEAUTIFUL
Amazing tour & Guide!
Cristian_D, Feb 2024
The tour guide was amazing, managed to get us the cave for us to calmly take pictures even when it was pretty busy, Sindri (guide) also explained a lot about the glaciar and the cave. Amazing
Absolutely breathtaking
Charlotte_C, Jan 2024
Absolutely amazing guide, super chilled and knowledgable. You could tell you were with a local rather than a huge group booking. The ice caves were spectacular, one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen and I’ve been all over the world. Truly breathtaking and a very unique experience. The walk there wasn’t difficult but I’d advise walking boots for sure and wear layers as you’re warmer on the walk and cooler in the caves. Really spectacular experience.
Unique must do experience!
Cindy_U, Jan 2024
Going in a small group is the way to go!! It gave us plenty of time and space to admire the caves and our guide took his time to make sure we each got our pictures inside the cave. He even suggested specific angles and lighting to get the best photographs. 100% recommend! Such a beautiful and unique experience!
Beautiful blue ice. Totally unique experience.

Phenomenal Experience

This was a bumpy ride but one you make it to your destination, this place is magical and full of history! Please be ready to learn and hike about 30 minutes to make it to the cave. It was so worth every minute and penny!
A fantastic experience

This was a fantastic excursion that we truly enjoyed. It was seamless from start to finish. Our guide was full of knowledge, helpful, safe, and fun! One of the highlights of our trip and we would highly recommend it!
Well organized and the visit is true to description.
Cheng_L, Nov 2023
Group size of 7, reasonable for the price. Nice and friendly tour guide, would answer to all your questions, also at the same time respect to those who need a bit of privacy. Within in the same site It seems like all operators are using a predefined photo spots and people would go in group by group. and your tour guide would take photo for you one by one. It is nicely arranged so you still get photos without strangers as background. However you lose a bit of freedom to roam around. If you are a serious photographer you should buy a smaller group tour to a quieter cave.
Such a great time on the...

Such a great time on the Ice Cave tour! The vehicle ride was nice, and the walk was a little long but the Ice Caves were magnificent! The weather did not cooperate in the area, but the tour went well, our guide was very knowledgeable and funny! Thanks so much for a lifetime memory!
Awesome

Great Guide and Amazing Blue Ice Cave
Jessica_C, Mar 2023
Amazing experience and great tour guide! I am not in great shape, so the hike to and from the cave was a challenge for me, but doable. And the guide was very considerate, took time to talk with each person during the hike and made sure we were doing ok. He encouraged us to take our time and not rush. Our tour left at 11 so it wasn’t too crowded when we were in the cave. The ice cave was amazing and I got a lot of great pictures so it was worth it!
Unforgettable
Halina_P, Feb 2023
Highly recommend this to anyone looking for an adventure! The hike to the glacier was relatively easy, just make sure you got your waterproof hiking boots on! The views from under the Vatna glacier were spectacular and our tour guide Sindri was very kind enough to take some really cool pictures of us ☺️
