From start to finish, this excursion was amazing. I can not imagine anyone doing a better job than Adventure Vikings and in particular their guide, Gretar. He was funny, informative & friendly. The excursion is 100% worth it. I did the wetsuit option & I barely felt cold (just a bit at the end walking to the mini-bus) but had the option of trying to dive down (dry suits float more).

Great experience
Andrew_H, Feb 2024
While I probably wouldn't do this again, it was super cold....I am glad I did and would recommend others to as well! Great experience and top notch service from the driver and guides. TIPS: The pictures included turned out great, no complaints; however if you have your own GoPro, be sure to bring it. And while the equipment provided was decent, if you have a nice snorkel mask at home, I would recommend that. Also, packs some 'hot hands' hand-warmers, they will prove to be useful.

It was fantastic experience the guides were brilliant they were really helpful and stopped you feeling concerned about it the water was clear and beautiful.
A unique experience and something for the bucket list.

What a fantastic and fun experience this is. I was a little apprehensive as although I had snorkelled before, it was not in this environment. Kevin and Doris were my guides and they we so lovely and reassuring. As I am short and stout, I had some issues finding a suitable dry suit, but Kevin was so patient making sure I was comfortable but dry. I hadn't been prepared for how long it takes to get all your kit on, but it was definitely worth it. My hair got a little wet as did my hands but otherwise I remained warm and dry throughout. Snorkelling in such clear waters is incredible and Kevin was keen to make sure I enjoyed the experience. Thank you to the team (including our minibus driver who also helped us getting out of our suits). I definitely recommend this as an experience to put on your bucket list. Thanks guys
Would 100% recommend!

We snorkeling on 12/9 with Dory and had an incredible time! She made sure to help us get all of our gear on step-by-step and made sure we knew the plan before getting in the water. Once in the water she got amazing pictures of us!
Very Nice
ALAA_S, Dec 2023
Was an amazing experience that no many people do, enjoyed snorkeling with dry suit and our guide Dori was great, i put 5 stars but the only thing would love to manage more is preparing before diving it took long time a bit while waiting out side suggest to give the instructions and the whole changing dress to be in a small room or at van at least but recommend it anyway
Luis made it fun while...
Cynthia_A, Aug 2023
Luis made it fun while paying close attention to our safety. Opted for dry suit and it was the right choice- not really too much to dove down for other than to say you did
Amazing Adventure Vikings

One of the coolest tours
Lucas_M, May 2023
The snorkeling tour was sensational. If you only have a few days in Iceland, this is one of the things you have to try. Our guide Gretar was super nice, explained everything to us very calmly and made sure everything was going well. I highly recommend anyone who enjoys diving/snorkeling (and even those who don't) to take a risk in the freezing waters of Silfra.
Crazy beautiful but never again!

Amazingly beautiful! Ended up in a dry suit, which I'd recommend unless you're used to super cold temperatures. Lips and finger tips ended up burnt/peeling later that day.
Wetsuit option tips (it’s worth it)
Adam_H, Nov 2021
Did the wetsuit option with Luis as the guide in November. Must have Tips for this are the following. Bring a towel (pref 2), a non baggy swimsuit, an extra pair of thick wool socks to wear during the swim and a bag to keep your clothes dry in while you do the tour and to use to put your wet stuff in after. It was a cold and rainy day outside right about freezing temps. Honestly waiting to get in was the hardest part. Your feet will go numb, no way to stop it and your hands to a lesser degree. It’s a little rough but it’s not miserable. That all aside once you get in. The view is amazing. Since I was wearing a wetsuit I was able to dive down below and take some great GoPro footage. If you choose this option, try to be one of the first to get in so you have some time to settle your breathing. I found early on it was hard to hold my breath as long I normally can. I was told later that is normal. Once you calm yourself you’ll be able to go down longer for that sweet footage. During the swim you have more freedom than the dry suit crowd to kind of go where you please, as long by as you keep moving along with the group. The guide was helpful and pleasant despite the weather conditions. I’d honestly give this a shot and then brag to your friends at home how tough you are to be one of the few (only one other guy did it with me out of the 50 or so there) who decided to wetsuit it up. From pick up to drop off total time was about 4-5 hours so plan accordingly.
Didn't get picked up
Tim_S, Oct 2021
This was something my wife was really keen on doing the moment she saw the photos online. Unfortunately we were forgotten to be picked up by the tour guide on the day we were booked despite confirming with company regarding the location and time for the the night before, we were hoping they were just late but by the time we have spoken to the company they informed us that we cannot join the tour anymore as they have already started going into the water. My wife was really upset as she was really excited for this activity and because it was towards the end of our trip there was no other days that we could try and reschedule, adding to the disappointment is not knowing when we will be able to travel to Iceland again. We understand that this was just a mistake and we appreciate that we got refunded right away but we do hope that the tour company will make sure that everyone booked for that day will be picked up next time and that no one gets left behind.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Hello Tim S We are truly sorry for the mistake made with the pickup and apologize for that. It was a human mistake by a former staff member. We did have other people joining the tour and therefore unfortunately could not wait or delay with the start. We learn and progress and try our very best to avoid that these kind of mistakes ever happen. I hope that the rest of your vacation in Iceland lived up to your expectations. Best Regards The Adventure Vikings team

Most amazing experience, guides were so helpful and really nice. The views from underneath the water was unreal
Cold but worth it
Eric_S, Sep 2021
Our guide Maria was awesome! The whole experience was good and fun and I highly recommend doing the wet suit. Both wet/dry are going to be cold but the wet suit gives you so much more options to see things and take in all this experience has to offer. It's cold but tolerable cold. The experience is a bit overpriced but I'd still do it again.
Stop thinking about it and do it.
Tricia_W, Aug 2021
Wow! Where to start... The great: Crystal clear water, once in a lifetime experience, AWESOME guides (Luis & Maria), good transportation. Yes, it's cold but you get used to it pretty quickly. The not so great: the drysuits are very uncomfortable and difficult to walk in to the entry point, but that shouldn't stop you from doing this!
Fun and cool experience, but a lot of prep!
Rachel_K, Aug 2021
This tour was really great! The tour guides were so helpful and friendly and really made it a good experience. They took pictures of us in spots they knew would come out great. The dry suit was a little uncomfortable to wear, but I guess that's because it has to be really snug all around in order to avoid getting water in. That wasn't the tours fault obviously, but I do want to mention it so you know what you are getting yourself in to... the water is COLD and you feel it on your face and your hands, you're only in the water 30 minutes, which is more than enough. My husband's hands were FREEZING and painful afterwards due to the cold, but, he survived. It's definitely worth the experience, but, it's a little rough of a process to get ready. You spend way more time getting ready then you do in the water. But again, it's a good experience and the staff do everything they can to make you safe and comfortable. I did have some water get in through the back so just bring some extra clothing incase that happens. My body wasn't too cold and the dry suit did it's job for the most part. The water is so clear and the rocks are pretty. If you can, I would do it!
Nice tine

The water was very cold, and my snorkel tangled up a bit. Maria was great! Helped me a lot and took great shots. Over all good experience
Great!

Amazing! Beautiful (though cold) water, great snorkling gear, and a fantastic guide. Luis was kind, funny, and very prepared. So glad we did it.

Bella bella experiencia.
