A Perfect day in Hallstatt and the Salt Mines.

This tri was amazing. We were with a small group of 8 and our driver was entertaining and informative. The history of the salt mines was something we were not familiar with. The lakes of the Hallstatt area with churches and homes resting on the slopes was picture postcard perfect. Our driver gave us time to explore and get food and a drink. The day was wonderful.

Nice tour. Wish to sit together with my wife but because we were last picked up we were separated, but I think it is normal for small minivans, but being in vacation it’s important. Salt mine is interesting and Hallstatt is charming.

With any car size those who are the last ones to get on a vehicle have indeed can have the situation that certain places are already taken. The pick-up round we need to plan according to the pick-up places. But, what surprises us is that that it seems not to having been possible to find a solution for your wish. Usually other tour members are helpful when they hear how important something is for someone.

The views of Hallstatt were amazing. I thought the salt mine tour was going to be a snooze fest but I enjoyed the walks through the tunnels and caves and especially the slides and train ride. I could have done without the outfits we had to wear as they were kind of pointless and uncomfortable but everything else was fine. I thought the fee for the salt mine tour was outrageous but I have to admit the views from the sky bridge made it worth it.

The whole day was great. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny and the tour of the salt mines was interesting and fun. The weather gave us both Winter and Spring in the same day. Luckily for us the snow and rain ended in time to capture some beautiful photos in the town.

Fritz our guide gave us alot of facts about Salzburg, Hallstatt and Austria in general. He was easy to understand and let us do lots of little stop offs for photos. We were only a small group so that was made it easier too. His instructions were very clear about where to go. The salt mine tour was really interesting and it went longer than I thought it would, but the time passed very quickly because we learnt so much. The 2 slides and mini train were super fun too. Really nice gift shop at the end with quality things to buy. The goulash and strudel we had in the village was amazing.

We had a wonderful time. The guide picked us up on time. On the way to Hallzmat we enjoyed the beautiful views. Then, we arrived at the salt mines, it was an excellent experience, worth the money and the trip. Our guide was very informative and gave us tips to enjoy the visit to the Hallzmat town. Totally recommended.

Our tour guide was awesome. He was so knowledgeable about Austria and Hallstatt, as well as the countries where us tour guests were from. He was very fun to talk to and listen to. He led the tour very efficiently and made us very comfortable. Hallstatt was beautiful, and the salt mine tour was worth waaaay more than $40 in my opinion (it was awesome). One pointer for future guests: once you get dropped off at the salt mine tour- dont delay in going up to the entrance and starting the tour. If you walk up the hill too slowly- you might miss the tour and get stuck with a later one, which will have you finishing too late.

Sightseeing without the hassle

The trip was really good, the guide Shiva was very knowledgeable and answered any questions. He knew the area, was on time and knew lots about everything. The salt mine was a bit expensive but the few hours in Hallstatt made up for it. A good tour which covered alot of different areas of Austria without the stress of catching buses, trains or driving. The small tour is the way to do it, you meet some nice people too.

Wonderful way to explore Halstatt and the salt mines

What a wonderful way to explore Halstatt and the areas surrounding Salzburg. Other than the incredible beauty of the Austrian countryside and the quaint town of Halstatt, the highlight was being in a small group of six instead of a massive tour bus. I felt we were able to learn so much more about the area this way. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to explore Halstatt and the salt mines.

The salt mine tour is fun and education. Hallstatt is a beautiful town and need more than 2 hour ito walk around the town and enjoy a nice lunch! Our tour guide is great too!

In many years of experience we learned that most guests indeed prefer taking only a little snack and not to extend a tour (in high season when the restaurants are extremely busy it would need up to 1,5-2 hours more). What we realized that many have also program in the evening. But, your thoughts show us that you really can enjoy a tour and that you even would have taken the time for lunch. Nice trip and our guide Siva was quite knowledgeable and told us many facts on our way. The salt mines was a good experience. Hallstatt village itself is beautiful though small on the banks of the pristine lake Hallstatt.

This was a great day. We got really lucky and ended up being the only ones on the tour, which they could have cancelled but didn’t and we had the best day. Our tour guide was great and informative. We loved the salt mines and the local town. Highly recommend to anyone going to the area.
