We pick up at most central San Francisco hotels and hostels between 8:00am and 9:00am, pick up times vary based on location.

What To Expect

Your tour begins with pickup at your San Francisco hotel. Accompanied by your guide, head out of the city and across the Golden Gate Bridge, with views of Alcatraz and the city skyline on the right and the outstretched Pacific Ocean to the left. Admire the hills of the Marin Headlands as you approach Muir Woods, and feel the scenery begin to change from urban metropolis to old-growth forest.

As you explore the tree-lined trails, take in the scents and sounds of this incredible living museum. Crane your neck to spot the tops of these ancient redwoods that run up to 250 feet (76 m).

Around noon, hop back into your coach and travel to wine country for an afternoon of tastings. For lunch, pop into a winery or over to the historic town square of Sonoma. The square offers delicious samples at Sonoma Jack’s Cheese Factory to pair with any bottles you’ve purchased, as well as boutique shops and the Mission San Francisco de Solano.

Enjoy stops at Napa and Sonoma wineries to sample a variety of top-notch reds, whites and dessert wine. 

Take in one last beautiful view of San Francisco from the Marin Headlands on your way back. Your tour concludes with drop-off back at your hotel.

We loved having Mitch as our guide for the day. So knowledgable about pretty much everything; tour-related and otherwise. This was a great trip. Sitting looking out onto the sunset over the rolling hills of Napa sipping delicious Californian wine. Who can put a price on that? The highlight was the great company on the day!

This is a nice trip. Tour operator was great at quickly responding to an email concerning conflicting pick up times. They clarified in a timely manner. The driver Jay was courteous & picked us up on time. We ran into a snag where the Golden Gate Bridge was closed down, but Jay re-routed us over the Bay Bridge so that our excursion did not have to be cancelled. Muir Woods did not disappoint. The Red Woods are spectacular! Jay took a group photo of us at the entrance so we have a nice souvenir photo to remember our trip! The reason for 4 stars & not 5 is b/c the Sonoma winery was not that great. They only had one server for the entire place. She was working very hard but was overwhelmed & that greatly affected our experience. The Napa winery was fantastic! On our drive back Jay stopped at a site with an incredible view overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge! We got some of our best vacation photos at that spot!

The experience was amazing. I was in San Francisco for a few days and this day trip as a solo traveler was just great. The company was very responsive and accommodating. The tour guide Jay was friendly and super knowledgeable. The small group was a great time. Muir woods was beautiful and Ru Vango winery in Napa was the cherry on top. Highly recommend if you are in San Francisco and want to explore outside of the city without having to drive. Thanks again Jay!!
SCAM . They are not profesional .

The driver never come to pickup us in the hotel .We Called 100 hundred times the number in the reservation and they barely responded one time to said that our reservation was for another day . Totally false . We lost time and money with Viator. No recommend them . Find another company . They are not seriously Scam . We need to do the tour with another company .

Had the best day yesterday with Aiden, he’s so passionate about all San Fran has to offer. Muir woods was breathtaking. Sonoma plaza was beautiful with great recommendations for lunch. The wine tasting was also great. A lovely bunch of people also made our trip, everyone was really friendly! Thank you again Aiden!

Tasting wines @ 3 different boutique wineries - walking among the redwoods. Our guide Dustin was knowledgeable and fun. Great music on the bus with a San Francisco theme. We were dropped off close to our hotel.

The driver was very nice and friendly. The wine tastings were very stressed. The first was very poor with paper cups and the same glass for every wine. We were sat outdoors inside a tent with very poor introductions to the wines we were tasting.

Our driver and guide Annie was simply the best! Our group was small (only 5 people) so we had lots of room and it felt almost like a private tour. Both vineyards (first in Sonoma, second in Napa) were spectacular but very different from each other. Favorite part? Muir Woods! Coming from the east coast this was the first time seeing such an amazing landscape and trees. Would 200% recommend this to anyone!

Muir woods was completely self guided, so you buy your own ticket ($15/ person) and walk on your own. That makes sense as you want some peaceful alone time as you walk amongst the giant trees. Later got dropped off at Sonoma town center and you have lunch on your own. There are plenty of choices, but things are pricey in general. First winery was Roche at Sonoma. 4 wines to sample from. The Chardonnay was decent, but rest is meh... also very stingy with the pouring. Second winery was Ru Vango at Napa. 3 wines to sample from. I was promised "big red", but ended up getting 2 very weak red blends. Not a bad trip, but more on the self guided side with someone to drive you around. Very disappointed with the choice of wineries though. Was meaning to pick up a few bottles on the way, but nothing remotely good.

The Muir Woods were beautiful and the two wineries we visited were excellent. My only issue was with the order in which we were picked up and then dropped off - we were the first people picked up and the last people dropped off, thus we had the longest trip on the shuttle van. It would have been nice if we had been dropped off first rather than last. Brendan was a great guide and very knowledgeable about the tour and places visited.

Our guide and driver Brandon was very professional and knowledgeable, he took good care of the group - and we had a wonderful time. The wineries and the woods were beautiful and the timing was perfect! What could be improved: I would have enjoyed not only tasting wines but also learning a bit more about the wine production, region, and wineries.

We had a great time on our tour. We went to the Muir woods, Sonoma and Napa wine tasting. Each tour was unique and the vineyards were beautiful. Our tour guide, Eileen was amazing. She picked us up at the hotel, and dropped us back there, very convenient. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the area went over and above to make sure we had a good time. I highly recommend this tour!

Over-all it was really fun and informative. Eileen, our driver was a lot of fun and personable. I told her that after visiting 2 vineyard that I'd sleep on the way home. She laughed and said that she can guarantee that I'll be laughing and singing - she was right! I was a bit disappointed with the pick-up (nothing to do with Eileen). Our hotel was in Mill Valley and we were told that we can only be picked up at a San Francisco hotel, yet, we drove past our hotel and could have easily been picked up there.

Muir Woods and the wineries were spectacular but the most memorable part of the trip was the wonderful people we were on the tour with!! And Jay, as our guide, was knowledgeable, personable and a great driver on that VERY winding road🤪🤪 Would highly recommend this tour to everyone!!

The entire trip was absolutely wonderful!! Muir Woods was a fantastic! The beauty and tranquility of the area were amazing. The Mission at Sonoma provided a great experience in history and time for a relaxing lunch. Finally, the time at the vineyards was fun and provided just enough time to learn more about the specific vineyards we visited, a bit more about the wine making process, and, of course, time to sample various wines. Our guide for the day was awesome and definitely did a great job in making this a wonderful trip!
