Overview

Visit two of the best places in Puerto Rico today, Luquillo beach and the El Yunque rainforest. You’ll be walking through a forest of rare plants, past natural rivers, and spotting local animals with your guide. If there is time, you can take a dip in a natural pool with a waterslide. Afterwards, you’ll be driven to Lauquillo beach, where you can swim, sunbathe, and relax for a while. Note: not recommended for those with walking difficulties.

We pick up from all the hotels in San Juan and Airb&b’s. We will provide the nearest pick-up locations. Buses stop at specific hotels depending on the area. For people staying in the Old San Juan area, the pick-up location is Plaza Colon. Keep in mind pick-up times are approximate. Tour buses begin pick-up’s at 10:00 am. Depending on your location, time will be later. The driver will be calling you by your name, have your ID ready to board the bus. It is currently high season, therefore, traffic in the mornings is very busy, be patient and enjoy a coffee while you wait!

A proper safety briefing will be given to participate in the water slide activity. It is imperative all guests cooperate and follow all given instructions to avoid injury or a dangerous situation. Please note this is a rainforest with a very rocky terrain. This is an extreme adventure.
Maximum weight to participate in the waterslide is 240lbs. All other participants may complete the activity at their own risk.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 30 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Great experience.... The Tour guide Vincent ( from NJ ) was the Best tour guide yet. He was Very informative and Super funny, a real comedian. The Waterfalls were beautiful and Great pics to be had. Luquillo Beach was absolutely amazing. Good drinks and Good food Super inexpensive. Highly recommend this tour. Thank you Viator and Vincent for a Fabulous experience.

Unprofessional

We booked an excursion to the rainforest. We ubered to the pickup point and then travelled an hour only to be told the river conditions were too dangerous to go to the rainforest. They dropped us off at a beach and were to be picked up 2 hours later and try the river again. The area we were dropped off was a dirty area and most kiosks were closed. We received a text an hour later stating we wouldn’t be able to go to the rainforest at all. We requested a refund due to the issues. They agreed to a refund but refused to transport us the hour back to the drop off location. We had to pay $55 for an Uber. My husband spoke with our tour guide who indicated he was aware of the river conditions prior to leaving that morning. Very disappointing and unprofessional as well as a possible dangerous situation.

The whole tour was great going to the forest doing a slide and a natural rocks small hike here and there which is fun and to top it off I'm going to the beach it's just awesome.

I was surprised at how little rainforest hiking there was and how small the natural waterslide was. And there was trash everywhere! I'd say less than half of the 60 kiosks were even open at Luquillo Beach and there was a lot of litter there too.

Very difficult to mention because the trip let me a bit dissatisfied. We were expecting hike a little then water falls or slides. Basically we went for the water slide which was nice but to far for just this. Luquillo beach not nice that area, not enough time to walk around and find better side of beach

From the beginning to the end was a once in a lifetime experience! Our host Vincent was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Our tour group had five people in it which I couldn’t imagine the other tours that had 20 to 30. That would not have been fun. I would not recommend going to the forest without a guide Vincent directed us on every step to take and although we had to wear lifejackets, I believe they are needed. The rocks are dangerous and you have to watch where you are stepping, and he knew every step. Although the hike is not a long hike, it is still considered a hike to me definitely where hiking shoes and dress comfortably . The waterslides were amazing and the flora surrounding I would recommend a smaller tour after the rain forest going to Luquillo beach was just the perfect ending. I would not recommend this to anyone who is unable to hike up and down hills, and that does not have steady footing. overall 10 out of 10 with Vincent.

A bit disappointed

Our guide Vinny was great but we never took a stroll through the rainforest. We went directly to the natural water slide and spent all of the time there. We then went to the beach where we could purchase drinks and food but not along the way.

Not adult fun- family type tour

I had taken this tour before with a different guide who happened to be a lot more fun. Previous tour guide played music to pump you up, allowed drinks in the bus and made several stops to allow us to take pictures. This time the driver was late picking us up, did not play any music, spent the entire trip narrating as if we were in a museum type excursion. Forced us to wear life jackets even though we know how to swim. He did not allow alcoholic drinks on the bus. Overall this felt like a family with kids type of tour. I paid for an adults, drinks, music and fun type of tour and that is not what we got. Boring and disappointing.

Rock climbing not rainforest hiking

On this tour you will hike for 5 minutes to get to the treacherous water slide. If you’re 50+ you won’t want to go injure yourself. After watching others for an hour whilst standing on the rocks, you get invited to descend to a less treacherous water pool, unfortunately it involves navigating boulders on a steep descent. I’m not suggesting anyone over 50 can’t do it, if you’re into rock climbing you will be fine. 6 of us oldies didn’t go, therefore our rainforest walk was 5 mins down and back…second part of the tour is 2 hours at the beach. There’s a nicer beach walking distance in Old San Juan, you choose as the bus takes at least an hour to get you home. For those who took advantage of the waters, I’m happy, for us it was a bit of a wasted day.

Vincent was amazing! So sweet. Honestly one of the best tours I’ve been on. He was super informative and telling jokes on the way to the forest. Be prepared the work alil for the experience it’s not a light hike if you’re not used to it. I definitely recommend hiking shoes or at least some you know that won’t slip. Everything was beautiful. Luquillo beach was amazing as well even rained alil but it didn’t stop the fun. If you want food, get the bbq Kabob and rice. Gorgeous experience to have solo of with friends and family.

First time in Puerto Rico and I am so grateful I was able to experience this tour. We were contacted via call before the tour for confirmation and picked up directly from our hotel. Throughout the ride to the destinations, we were given information about the background of Puerto Rico’s land and people. We first stared at the rainforest then ended at Luquillo Beach! Definitely recommend socks and shoes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty (a little bit of mud on the path in the forest)!

Our trip was amazing, and the tour guide Vincent was phenomenal. Very light rocks and mud, nothing crazy. Waterfall, cliff jump, and beach time with great food to purchase 10/10.

Basic jungle swimming experience and couple hours on the beach worth the $69.00

for $69... one can not complain. I was hoping for a real hike at least 30-45 min in the Jungle. But, basically drive an hour, you park, walk 5 minutes into the jungle to a stream with a lil pool and a fun water slide and then walk along the river down a windy, muddy jungle path for 10 minutes to a larger pool and swim (with 60 of your new best friends and this was mid week- kind of crowded place). The 24 of us were a fun mix of folks and everyone pleasant on our lil adventure. The taste of the jungle was sweet, but doing a real hike would have been cool. There is a small 12' rock to jump off and a rope swing too, and the time at the river was relaxed which was nice (except for being hounded to wear your life jacket... I understand it for kids under 14. but we have already pleased the lawyers by signing our life away in case we die, Just tell us to bring the life Jacket and please wear it, but then we are adults, let us decide, there is no need to hound adults who have been swimming since they were kids to wear their life Jackets. Then we easily walked back up the smooth rock along the edge of the river back up to the original pool and walked 5 min out. I think other trips go to different areas and have longer hikes. Then we bought a yummy icey juice thing, drove 15 min to the beach where there were lots of food stalls and had two hours on the beach. Our Driver Jose was overly cheery and worked on knowing everyone's name and kept us going with over-exuberant various bits of banter and history for the drive... very friendly, but than too much of a hard ass about the damn lifejackets and twice he was very inflexible when a women wanted to take two extra minutes to get one of the iceys, and later when a dehydrated couple who wanted to grab a quick bottle of water for the hour drive back... he said "NO, lets go".. 5 minutes of flexibility in these two cases would have been easy to accommodate and customer service-oriented. Overall, I had a day to spare after working in SJ, and I got to see the jungle, take some nice swims, see a different beach had some good beach time for $69.00. so no complaints, but you get what you pay for.
