Valparaiso and Vina del Mar

This was a private tour from Santiago. We spent 90% of our time in Valparaiso and very little in Vina del Mar, which is a good thing because Valparaiso is, by far, the most interesting area. We also spent most of our time on foot, which is also a good thing. This is a city that must be walked. We also had an interesting dining experience with our guide, which was extra, but also added to the experience.

Great full day escape from Santiago

If you want a private, customized, educational full day tour to Valparaiso, Hector is the guy! He picked my wife and I around 10am in the hotel we’ve stayed in Santiago in a lux van and returned us just in time for dinner, around 7pm. During those 9 hours we’ve learned so much about Chilean history, politics, food, wine, wall murals and architecture, went to Pablo Neruda’s home, drove the historical elevators in Valparaiso, walked up and down the streets, enjoyed the Pacific view in the afternoon when the fog lifted, etc…. If we were to do it by ourselves it would take days to go around and weeks to read all the books. Highly recommended tour!

This private tour was one of the best excursions we have been on. Our guide, Rodriguez, was very informative and experienced (29 years) and he tailored our tour with us in mind. From the time we were picked up until we got back everything went smoothly. We learned a lot about the city of Valparaiso and its history. I highly recommend Rodriguez and his driver (very professional) for this tour.

This was an incredible tour. Hector narrated while Mauricio drove. Hector is from Valparaiso and was very knowledgeable about the area and Chile in general. His English was perfect and he was very funny and helpful. He is also an excellent photographer and took many professional and trick pics for us. The 4 of us took a private tour with them and highly recommend them. Probably the best tour we have ever taken. Book this guy!!!

Francisca was an excellent guide for our tour of Valparaiso. She was knowledgeable and engaged and made us very comfortable all day long; it felt like spending the day with a friend. Our driver, Fabián, was also a delight. Pickup and drop off were right on time and both were very attentive to what we wanted from the day. We can highly recommend!

Dear Xiaoping Linda Zhao x3 You were CONFIRMED & BOOKED for our Valparaiso/ViñaDelMar Tour Service....And that what we gave you satisfactory... we picked you up on time and we gave you more time that we promised about the tour you Reserved, Confirmed & Booked last Thursday, January 18, 2024 Picked up at Stgo Htl by 9:30am VALPARAISO/ViñaDelMar Tour Dropped off at Stgo Htl Duration: 8 hrs But We gave you more time as we should for 3 paxs. And as we did a Great Tour Job... you decided to give us$50 to the driver and us$50 to the guide. Total of us$100 as a TIP in a total Voluntary way... We never Charged or Promised you to arrange anything to Patagonia...in fact we were very kind and helpfully. We are NOT specialized to arrange the area you were interested for. But you requested to a specialized Valparaiso tour guide to arrange a whole trip to Patagonia in the middle of our high season at a very last minute with a few days before to arrive there. Patagonia is crazy busy from November to February. She really helped you to contact some people there in Patagonia but all of them where Busy, NOT Available.. We tried to be so kind and helpful with you all 3..... So. you can not blame us for the unavailability in Patagonia at a time of high demands. As soon as we realized they do not have availability we tried to contact you to let you know to arrange everything by your own... but you never answered... so we left a message to your hotel... twice... So, your hotel may be didn't give you the message... Also.. as you didnt received a message and if you were interested of a proper tour arrangement... you should contact a TOUR OPERATOR and not a Valparaiso Specialized Tour Guide who is expert in Valparaiso Tours but NOT of The Entire huge Patagonia and north of Chile. Our guide Carol did a very good job guiding us to Valparaiso and Vina del Mar. Very friendly person. Informative and kind. However the price for this tour is way too high: we paid $519 for 2 people which is insane for this trip. Compare prices, people! Overpriced. Do your homework and compare companies . Check the details. $99 per person sounds fair for this trip.

But as we explained before the price was because you picked up December 31, 2023 where many people Rise up prices in many different ways because of new year eve and you wanted us to take you to Coast when thousands of people wanted to go there to for fireworks. My husband and I travel often and this is by far one of the best tours we have ever done. I highly recommend this experience and specifically HecTours. Our tour guide, and driver were very friendly, professional, and shared so much knowledge about the local area. There is no way we would’ve had this amazing of a visit without them. It added a deeper level to our experience. Anne, our guide, and Fernando our driver, were both wonderful!
