Great experience

Beautiful landscapes, the hotspring experience is the best. The picnic was not as we expected, but you have the opportunity to take lunch at a good local restaurant at reasonable price. The drive was too fast for me, compared to the mountain road conditions. Overall good experience,a most if you have some days in Santiago.

Unique volcano-canyon-terme experience

This is a nice day trip for nature lovers! The tour is good value for money compared to similar tours and I recommend it! I received all info the night before the tour and pick-up by Gonzalo (although starting at 6.00) worked perfectly. Breakfast stop was at a very unattractive place with terrible toilet facilities but I was expecting something like that (suggestion to tour operator-chose a normal place!). Afterwards we had a couple of photo stops before reaching hot springs. We spent there 2 hours. The views from the pools are breathtaking! Toilet and changing facilities again in terrible condition (but there is a poorly functioning shower). Don’t forget to take your towel! After some more photo stops, we arrived to the restaurant. You can have buffet all you can eat version for 18 000 pesos or order something from the menu. The buffet option was actually good, barbecue was great (included in buffet). We then went to the House of chocolate which was disappointing (e.g. you cannot taste this chocolate they sell at high prices). Luckily we did not spend too much time there, but this stop should really be taken out of the program. Final stop was a small picnic at the breakfast stop from the morning. Don’t expect full picnic that can feed you instead of lunch, more like a nice gesture from the organizer. Altogether day full of driving, with the hot springs as the highlight of the day. I have done many tours, so I had realistic expectations (why these tours always take you to overpriced shops and restaurants!?), and with respect to this I find this tour good value for money compared to other similar tours. I also hope the organizers could improve the experience based on my and many similar comments.

I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews. Yes, the ride is long. Yes, the driver has limited ability in English. Everything was made up as we get closer to the hot spring. The mountains surrounding us were breath takingly beautiful. The hot springs were also surrounded by majestic mountains. It was so relaxing. The only hiccup is no lockers to store your stuff. The stop for lunch at a restaurant which gives you no choices was a bit disappointing. They only served buffet. Should stop at places that offer more food choices. However, the chocolate stop had delicious ice cream and cappuccino.

Great trip with a nice and competente guide, only the restaurant, we stoped for lunch did not offer smaller plates, like empanadas etc., only buffet or main dishes.

the hot springs were amazing!! truly special and a unique experience! not too crowded. this trip was full of many stops, making for a full day! would recommend bringing snacks as lunch is later in the day.

our driver was excellent, but overall we were disappointed in the experience. 1. the tour description CLEARLY states that there will be a driver AND a guide - not just a driver. 2. the van was PACKED to the point where my wife and I had to sit up front with the driver 3. the lunch was TOO EXPENSIVE. this should be disclosed that we would be taken to a place where a $20 buffet was the only option. not what we have been accustomed to with Viator around the world.

11 hour day for 2 hours at the Hotsprings. 6.15 pick up some people even earlier. We finished Hotsprings at 12.30 but didn't get of bus until 6pm Afternoon stops, not included in description of tour, just for selling you food and chocolate. No guide and driver did his best for translation but missed many points. I would not recommend this tour or company

The ride to the hot springs was stunning!! You stop for breakfast and then hit some picturesque spots until you reach the peak of the mountain to enjoy the hot springs! Ride back we toured the old train tunnell; had a great lunch at a spot with a little zoo; visited the house of chocolate; stopped for wine and cheese; and then back to the hotel. A perfect day trip!

Mediocre tour at best. Not impressed with the early pick up. Advertisment said earliest pickup would be 7:00 am not 5;40 am. Driver was a driver and not really a guide. The wine lunch was more of a snack with wine. Hot springs were so-so. 2 hrs there was too much. Everyone was done in about an hour. Lunch stop should have been the wine lunch as promised we did not expect to be taken to a restaurant. The restaurant was expensive and food not that great. Hire a good guide that can do a running dialogue on the area, the techtonics of the area, the vegetation etc. there were other spots along the way that would have been an interesting stop, but we drove by. Maybe rethink how the tour is out together.

The places we visited were good, but they kicked me out of the English-speaking bus, put me on the Spanish bus, and made me read Google Translate, then got sick to my stomach. Treated me like a horrible criminal all the way through, wouldn’t recommend this company, find someplace else.

Before I explain why I have this tour 1 star: I want to say that your driver Gonzalo was good. He is a hardworking man who does what is needed to make sure the trip is successful. Now let’s dive deep. 1. Pickup time was 550am. The posting on viator says 7am +/- 30 minutes. The tour company reached out to us saying there is bad weather so they want us to leave early. That was a lie. There was no bad weather in Santiago or CDM. 2. Posting on viator says driver snd tour guide are seperate people. Wrong. Gonzalo was our driver. And he was our guide. 3. English speaking guide. Wrong. Nothing against Gonzalo - he is doing his job. But he is NOT a guide. A guide explains and tells us about the history or the geography of the place. Gonzalo is just a driver who speaks broken English. He tried his best. Kudos to him. But the tour company lied. Technically if a person speaks few words of English he “might” be described as an English speaking guide- but Gonzalo was trying his best to communicate with a van full of Americans and Australians and the only information we got wasn’t really what we were expecting. 4. The chocolate factory was a joke. We waited for 1 hour for what was supposedly an experience. We later find out that it was just a shop that was equipped to handle only 10 customers at a time ( there were 60+ waiting to go in). And once you go in - there is NO experience or samples - just an opportunity to purchase chocolates or ice cream. We wasted 1 hour waiting. 5. Picnic - Gonzalo laid out wine and cheese for us. Check. But we just had lunch 1 hour ago. So many of us just wanted to get home. The picnic started at 4pm and our day had started at 550am. 6. Van broke down 20 kms away from Santiago. We ubered home. Not Gonzalo’s fault - but that’s a poorly managed van. Overall it felt like we were in an Uber van with 17 people. No tour guide. Just a drive thru the valley and back and 2 hours in the hotspring. Also no one spent 2 hours in the hot spring- people came out within 30 minutes and we were waiting to go to the next spot.

The tour was great. Enjoyed the drive through the canyon- it is very beautiful. Also enjoyed the hot springs. Didn’t have the lunch, but others said it was good. Think the chocolate factory straight after lunch could be omitted. An enjoyable dsy

Gonzalos was an amazing and his a great driver from the time we were picked up and all day was excellent firstly went for breakfast than went to the maipo and drove through the andes was amazing to them go to the thermal pool after that we were taken to all you can eat buffet that was about 15000 peso about 15dollars lots of food all you can eat than went on the the chocolate shop

Never took the tour. The tour operator contacted me the afternoon before the tour to say the tour was cancelled. I asked for a full refund - she said it would take 48 hours. One week later - still waiting for the refund. Smells like I got scammed - thanks Viator.

Worst company in the world

Nothing memorable about this … because the tour operator NEVER got back to me with pick up time!! I sent many messages to her until 8:30pm the previous night!! So rude! The minute I said I’m sick of waiting for a response, please cancel & want a full refund, she responded and said she will put my request in!!!! So rude! I will never have the opportunity to visit the Maipo valley again, and it was the one thing I wanted to see while in Santiago. I WILL NEVER use Viator again!!!!
