Walking the streets of Valparaiso with a great guide in Jaime from touristic. The winery was great too. Language wasn’t an issue.

Visiting many places in a hurry

The tour included a visit in a winery in Casablanca Valley, Vina Del Mar, and Pablo Neruda’s home in Valparaiso. We wanted to see more Valparaiso but it was a quite short visit. Because of the three stops, there was lots of traveling time on the bus. Would recommend if you just want to see three places very briefly.

The whole day was good. The Pablo Neruda house, La Sebastiana, is a must see. So rich, so many world objects. I loved it. I would have liked to walk a bit too in the center of Valparaíso.

In a nutshell: this was a really enjoyable day, with our guide Juan providing lots of interesting information about the country and landmarks (thanks!). The winetasting was also fun and informative and Valparaiso is amazing, so I can't imagine anyone not enjoying that! So why only four stars? In short, and this is sort of by design / virtue of the format, the trip is a bit disrespectful of your time. For example, I ran to be at the central pickup point at 8am, from where we were taken to a parking lot outside a closed mall. We waited there for 40 minutes for the "proper" tour to start at 9am, and there were many more interesting places I would have preferred to spend that time (longer in bed on a Sunday being one of them :-)). Also, there's a coach full of people, and it's pretty clear it won't leave without all of them, which other participants frequently abused. I.e., if you end up showing on time, you may well spend another hour during the day sitting in a bus, waiting for the latecomers to kindly show up... I think the solution to that would be a smaller bus, or just leaving without those who show up late (though I suspect the resulting negative reviews is one reason that won't ever happen). Would I do it again? Probably yes, though a very tempting alternative would be just to hop on a regular bus to Valparaiso and get lost there for a day exploring that little gem of a city...

This was a very poorly run tour. The guide was unable to keep guests on time and instead of going to get them when they were as much as 20 minutes late she just complained and then scolded the whole bus. They did not tell me until I arrived that morning that I would not be dropped back off at the same point, which was very inconvenient. We did not get a walking tour of Valparaiso as advertised and no mention was made of it. I was most looking forward to that tour and seeing some of the street art but it was completely absent. The two stops we made in Vina Del Mar were inefficient and seemed designed to force us to spend money at a specific business (overpriced tourist restaurant) with little other option for food or exploring. The Pablo Neruda house was cool, but hard to enjoy as our tour group was too big for the museum and it was very cramped and hard to more around. Even the winery “tour” was maybe 10 minutes not really educational but the stop lasted well over an hour. Unfortunate waste of time and money.

Alejandro and Orlando were great guide and drivers respectively. The tour ran on schedule and allowed plenty of time for us to explore these areas. We never felt rushed in checking out the areas in / around.

A very good experience, our guide was very informative and explained all the spots that we visit. The highlights of the tour were Pablo Neruda’s house in Valparaiso and the vineyard where we had a great experience. I only give 4 stars because I feel we need more time in Valparaiso Center and they took us to a restaurant for lunch (no included in the price) in Viña Del Mar that was very expensive and there were not other options nearby, also the lunch time was too long: 1 hour and 45 minutes, we could have a 45 minutes lunch somewhere and enjoy more Valparaiso.

Great except the drop off!

The tour was great, but the reason for not giving 5 stars was because we were not dropped back to central Santiago where we were picked up. We were dropped quite far away which took 40 minutes in an Uber to plaza de amas in peak hour traffic. The tour guide was great. I think instead of 40 minutes at the beach, join lunch with the beach and then do a drop off to Santiago as well. My suggestion. Thanks for a great day!

The driver and Jessica were superb, very friendly and flexible. They made the experience more pleasant. The food of the restaurant was wonderful. I highly recommend the most expensive ceviche, the best one I ever ate. Visit Chile, Chileans are very friendly and polite. I like best the Neruda house.

Packed day trip with the wrong experience

I was looking forward to seeing Valparaiso. I have to say, I feel like I have not seen it. We stopped by the wine tasting place/ this should have been avoided/. In Valparaiso we only stoped by Paul Neruda house and one photo stop!!! We did not have time to wonder around historical district or take pictures of the murals!!!! Next, we went to Vinia Del Mar. Expensive lunch stop and 45 min on the beach. Ehhh… not exactly what I came for.

Simple and fun way to visit Valparaiso

We had an excellent guide with Daniel who managed to fill us with pertinent facts and stories about Chile, Santiago, and Valparaiso. The wine tasting at Verremont vineyards exceeded our expectations with the tour and organic wines. Our primary purpose was to visit La Sebastiana, the home of Pablo Neruda, and that was amazing. It was a good day, and we felt well taken care of.

Overpriced, unorganized, bait and switch

This is the by far the worst tour I've been on. You get into a bus with 20 people half speaking Spanish and half speaking English with only ONE GUIDE. Semi private tours cost HALF as much. If the tour was good, I wouldn't complain, but it's not. It's a typical hop on hop off type of tour. Guide is there to force you on the schedule. We walked around Valparaiso with no explanations on art work. He mentioned 1 or 2 and the rest of the time was about how many buildings/people there are and pointing out old dilapidated buildings that are literally in ruins. No one goes to Valparaiso to look at that. We passed by free tour guides along the way and they were a lot more engaging and detailed in explanations. Wish I had booked a semi private cost for half the cost or transfer only and utilized free tour. I would have had a better experience. Also, the tour description is a bait and switch. It said we will stop at vina del mar for lunch, but it never happened. We were forced to go to a tourist trap that tour company drop off people in droves. There were no other restaurant to eat at besides this tourist trap. I tried to complain to the tour company directly, but they said there's nothing they can do. Btw viator also charges more than the tour company and the lowest price guarantee is a joke basically. Viator is supposedly looking at the case, but I have little faith. I might have to file charge back through my credit card. Never using viator again. Go with local tour recommended by your hotel concierge.

What an amazing Vineyard! Our guide explained everything about the wine industry in Santiago and showed us the more unique aspects of Emiliana that just blew my mind. The most unexpected surprise was running into Alpacas on the property! The wine itself was outstanding and the best part about the tour is how close you are to Santiago.

This was a great day! It was definitely worth the money spent. The Emiliana Tour was incredible and the wine was SO delicious. Valpariso is beautiful and our day also included a tour of the Casa de Pablo Neruda which I didn't know was included! You don't stop in Vina del Mar if you are looking for that. Between hotel pickup and hotel drop off, we were out about 12 hours. Our tour guide, Jennifer, and our drive, Alejandro were amazing. The tour was balanced with both English and Spanish. Highlight recommend!

Excelente tour…!!! Altamente recomendable, el bus que te lleva en excelentes condiciones, además el guía fue muy amable y atento con cada uno de nosotros, se tomó el tiempo para conocernos a cada uno, inclusive hasta para bromear con cada uno. Si vas a Santiago y no conoces, esta es la opción correcta para conocer estos increíbles lugares.

O roteiro do passeio foi ótimo! A guia era muito legal e o restaurante que paramos para almoçar era muito bom!! Só o ônibus que estava com o ar condicionado ligado MUITO forte e passamos muito frio!! Vale super a pena entrar na casa do Pablo Neruda com a visita guiada. Entre Vina del Mar e Valparaiso, prefiram ficar mais tempo em Valparaiso. ótimo!
