Chef John was a delight! Very knowledgeable about the market and entertaining in his description of the things we were seeing. Would definitely recommend his tour to anyone. The only complaint was that there was quite a bit of salmon in the tastings so a little more variety would be great but overall, our group really enjoyed it! We were stuffed!

John was very knowledgeable about Pike Place. He had lots of info from the inside since he's been around the area for so long. He knows many of the store owners and he's good at involving them in conversation during the tour. My husband and I were the only ones that showed for this tour, so we could hear him well, walk at our own pace, maneuver through the crowds easily. After we finished the tour, we were very happy we had done it. Since we've never been to Pike Place it would have been difficult to navigate where to go. John was really great at showing us landmarks and shortcuts to help us get around when the tour was over.

Chef John has a deep and extensive knowledge of the market's history and people. This is not only a food tour with many tastings, but also a history tour. You'll get lots of exercise to work off the many small bites along the way. We liked that this tour was fairly casual, not at all uptight. We had the privilege of a weekday "off season" very small group making it even more personal. John really knows the market and the Seattle scene. We have done food tours on other vacations; we recommend this tour.

Really enjoyed this tour. My husband and I learned so much about the market and its history. It is so big and we definitely wouldn’t have explored it all on our own. Our tour guide really knew the place and the vendors very well. We had many samples of salmon, dried fruit/veggies, pastries, cheese/jam, tacos, and pizza. We enjoyed it all. Appreciated the discount for any of the items that we wanted to purchase. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

This was the most amazing tour of the market. We have visited Seattle and Market before but never done a food tour. We loved the knowledge and energy of the tour guide. He’s a local that grew up in the area and worked at the market. Totally insider information. The food samples were fantastic and a great variety. Taco, biscuits, tea & cherries just to name a few. The guide was personable and friendly. The tour was super intimate as it was just the two of us with the guide.

Chef John was a great tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about Pike Place Market. We were visiting on Mardi Gras from Louisiana on a Tuesday. Apparent a lot of the places are closed on that day in the off season and we didn’t know, but Chef John did a great job of still getting us great food and drinks to sample. We would have been so lost without him. The samples of food we had were amazing. We probably would not have tried it on our own so it was good to have an insider show you the bests and secrets of the market. We would definitely recommend this tour to others visiting.

I was the only one who booked the tour for my date and time, so it was almost like a private VIP tour LOL. John was super friendly and it was fun going through a bunch of shops and learning the ins and outs. The samples were varied which I appreciated, everything from jerky to fish to biscuits. The perfect tour if you’ve never been to Pike Place before.
