Overview
Take an evening ride on the Verde Canyon Railroad during this "starlight" experience. The views were breathtaking. The whole experience was well worth the money. The food was delicious. The guide was very knowledgeable about all the history. I would recommend this ride. I definitely will do it again.

The canyon at sunset was extraordinarily beautiful. The red rock color simply blazed against the Arizona blue sky. It was an unforgettable ride.

Brought my family with wife and three children ages between 16 and 21. They were not thrilled with duration, non air-conditioned cars and no cell service. They had to entertain themselves the old fashioned way which was a good break. I was motivated by the idea of a scenic trip but it was a bit long and uncomfortably warm. This is mostly a cocktail party which I failed to realize prior to buying tickets. Would have been a much better experience if the cars were appropriately air-conditioned and if the train ran a bit faster than 12 miles per hour. If you like the romantic idea of a cocktail party on an old train and don’t mind the heat then you will enjoy it. If you have a family with adolescents they would probably prefer a jeep outing.
