Overview

The Blue Grotto is the most famous sight on Capri, but the long wait at the cave entrance means that many boat tours skip a stop here. With this tour, set sail first thing in the morning to beat the crowds and cut wait times to a minimum. After taking in the grotto, enjoy a boat tour around the island with stops to swim and free time to explore on land.

What To Expect

Your morning starts at a central meeting point in Sorrento, right next to Port Marina Piccola. Board a comfortable, restroom-equipped boat with room for a maximum of 12 travelers—guaranteeing an intimate excursion.

Spend time relaxing on the padded sundeck as you cruise along Sorrento’s scenic coastline toward Capri. Your first stop is the famed Blue Grotto.

Beat the crowds with a morning visit to the famed sea cave (own expense). From there, you’ll continue cruising around Capri as you enjoy complimentary refreshments, alcoholic beverages, and fresh seasonal fruit.

Admire landmarks like the White Grotto, Green Grotto, and Punta Carena Lighthouse as you sail toward the island’s port. After disembarking, you’ll have three hours of free time to shop or grab a meal in Capri on your own.

Pass by the Natural Arch and Faraglioni rocks as you make your way back to Sorrento, stopping to swim and snorkel (snorkeling equipment included).

This was a wonderful experience with only 10 people on a boat. The blue grotto was amazing and our boat ride around Capri in and out of coves was beautiful. Our tour guide had a great sense of humor, and made sure to point out interesting things. Jumping into the Mediterranean, as cold as the water was, was amazing.

Tour failed to meet expectations

Boat left late and there were 12 on board which was way too many. We got to Blue Grotto at 9.00am and were told the wait time was nearly 2 hours (after we had paid 330 euro to skip the lines) so passengers agreed to try again later in the day. Next stop was Picolo Wharf not the main marina of Capri so we had to catch a bus or taxi which used a lot of our 3 hours free time to explore. Boat was to have provided free beer and Prosecco but this was not offered . Not sure there was toilet on board either which was part of the deal. We thought the tour was a waste of time and money so we caught the ferry back to Sorrento at 11:20am. Getting back to Sorrento cost 100 euro in taxis and ferry so expensive water of one day of our Italy holiday.

Swimming off the island of Capri was awesome! The boat trip out took about 30 minutes during which we got to meet the eight other people who joined us for the day. Going through the Blue Grotto must be experienced to really understand the color. Just amazing! Wine and Fruit were served. And the Chairlift to the top of the island during our three hours on land provided amazing views! Take this trip. You will not regret it for a second.

We had some tough luck with weather, but that’s where the troubles ended, our captain Frankie stayed true to the course through strong winds and high swells, he showed us all of Capri and gave us a few helpful hints for navigating the island. We got our sea legs that day, but overall the experience was fantastic and the trip was very well organized and run

Frank/Franseco was the best skipper. The trip was so smooth, the water so blue, nice stop in capri. We did the chair lift with breathtaking views and then wow the blue grotto was just spectacular. A great day indeed and a lovely fruit platter and drinks. Would recommend.

This was spectacular! The boat guides were wonderful. Capri was beautiful. They showed us various spots around the island. I was worried the blue grotto wasn’t going to be open since it was closed in the morning, but we changed the order of the tour and were able to see it in the afternoon when the tide went down. They provided alcohol and nonalcoholic drinks but ran out of most things by the end, so not really “unlimited” and the snacks were donut twists and fruit, so definitely plan to eat on the island or you will be hungry.

We got lucky to have exceptional weather for this tour, and Francisco was an exceptional captain for the excursion! The Blue Grotto was a really cool experience and visiting Capri for lunch and a walk through town was a lot of fun. My husband enjoyed the swimming when offered, but I'm a warm water girl and chose to take the pictures! Francisco took us to several other points of interest on the coast of Capri and was very knowledgable, engaging and hospitable! Highly Recommend!

We had an excellent daytrip to Capri through this charter. While it was definitely busy when we arrived for check in, the process was quick and smooth. Our boat had 12 people on it. We headed to the Blue Grotto straight away which was great because the wait was only 15 minutes or so. Our captain did a great job of explaining things to us throughout the sail around the island and giving us lots of insights. Capri itself is beautiful. We docked as Marina Piccola, so we needed to take a bus rather than funicular to the main section of Capri. That's not good or bad, but we assumed we'd be at Marina Grande, so needed to pivot a bit to figure out our time on the island. The best part was the swimming, drinks and fresh fruit after we left Capri. The weather cleared and we had a beautiful afternoon swimming and relaxing on the front of the boat. We highly recommend this charter to others - it was one of our favorite Sorrento days. Quick advice for future travelers: it will take longer than you think on foot to get to the marina - build in some extra time to walk down all of the stairs and find your way to the starting point.

This was my second visit to the blue grotto and capri and Elena and Vincentino know what they are doing to get their group their early to be one of the first in the grotto before the traffic gets insane. Flavio was an excellent guide! He was extremely knowledgeable about the island of Capri and the blue grotto. The views were amazing!! When we got back on the boat, Flavio was waiting with beverages and snacks for us. I highly recommend this tour and asking for Flavio, if possible.
