Exactly the tour we wanted!

Our driver Maria was great - helped us decide best itinerary for the day according to the circumstances (always subject to change due to traffic, etc). She was flexible with our time requests at each location and was very responsive to our needs. We didn’t want to spend too much time at each location, so we were able to get a good view of each within the time allotted.

This private tour was worth the money. Roberto communicated with us as soon as we booked the tour. The guide Raphael at Herculaneum and Pompeii was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Roberto is an excellent driver and managed the tour very well. Highly recommended.

It was easy to book. The car was clean and comfortable. The driver absolutely fabulous!! He was prompt, professional, efficient, kind and helpful. It was wonderful not to have pressure about getting to the places or getting home. The driver was relaxed and I could tell he wanted us to have a great day...which we did. I can't thank him enough!

The perfect experience to gain a full appreciation of the volcano, the eruption, Ancient Roman architecture, and the daily lives of Romans. Our tour guide Raffaele was incredibly knowledgeable, and blended the history and the archaeology to tell the story. The private tour gave us the opportunity to move at our own pace, and see as much as we could.

Our tour began when Roberto picked us up from our hotel in Naples. He was courteous, professional and helpful throughout the day. First, we climbed to Mt. Vesuvius crater before most of the tourists arrived and before it became hot. Then we met our expert guide Raffaello at Pompeii. He was engaging and knowledgeable as he explained to us about life in Pompeii before it was decimated. After lunch Raffaello showed us around Herculaneum. This was different from Pompeii and worth a visit. Finally, Roberto drove us back to our hotel. Our tour was excellent.

This was a full-on day trip starting from Sorrento at 8am when our driver, Roberto, , picked us up from the hotel. Roberto really went the extra mile to keep us informed and his driving skill on the narrow roads made us feel very safe. Roberto dropped us at the tourist centre on Vesuvius and, from there, we walked to the summit and half way round the crater. The views from the top were spectacular and it really was well worth the effort to make the climb. We took the option of getting a guide for the Herculaneum and Pompeii elements of the trip. Our guide, Barbara, was simply excellent and brought the whole experience to life with her detailed understanding of the events that befell these two locations in 79AD and earlier. Without Barbara, we could have wandered around the ruins, but would have missed so much of the detail and history. After a very busy day, Roberto got us safely back to the hotel at around 5pm. All in all, this trip was well worth the money and is an experience we will reminisce about for years to come! Very highly recommended!!
