Our tour guide was very informative at POMPEII. I just wish we had more time there. We had two hours with our tour guide but could have spent a few more hours on our own afterwards. We then went to Mount VESUVIUS......a disaster due to an incoming rainstorm combined with 40 mph winds......we couldn't see anything......not their fault at all.

Pompeii was simply amazing. The scope and scale of this city was incredible and to see what Vesuvius accomplished in 18 hours is overwhelming. Our guide, SASA was incredible!

Transportation was great, our guide of Pompeii was average. Her English was pretty good, but I don’t think she had the English skills to effectively communicate what we were seeing etc.

Francesca was a wonderful guide. She was very informative as well, energetic and fun. We really enjoyed the newly restored house. It gave us a real sense of how people lived during that time. We highly recommend!!

Francesca, our guide, was fantastic. She was knowledgeable and passionate about all things Pompeii. Our driver from Sorrento was also engaging and accommodating. We only wished we could have done Vesuvius which was cancelled due to weather related issues.

Pompeii was absolutely beautiful. There was so much to see and our guide had a ton of information to share! She was full of knowledge. The taxi picked us right up at our hotel. Communication was easy. I fortunately, the second half was cancelled. We wished we were not as rushed considering the second half of our tour was cancelled but overall it was a pleasant experience with a positive guide.

Private tour turned into 10 people tour waiting for lines.

We signed up for a private tour of Pompeii and Vesuvius with a driver from our hotel. When I signed up it said that it was up to 8 people and that we were signing up for 4. We expected to be only the 4 on the tie based on this and at worse case possibly 4 others for max of 8. Tour listed Jo waits and no lines with this experience. We had to wait 20 minutes for others to arrive and then found out there were 10 of us! Why did we spend $844 for this experience which was not as listed.

sorry that just because you made a mistake in booking the type of tour (we do not sell private tours) unnecessary lies are made about the price paid and all the tour information being reported on viator at the time of booking, and then it doesn't seem to me that on the Vesuvio you went with other people (we gave you private transport for the whole day instead of shared) perhaps next time a little more attention when booking can avoid making her needlessly angry and maybe enjoy the holiday more and afterwards having checked the entrance tickets, your group was 8 people and then Pompeii opens at 9 you waited because arriving in Pompeii with private transport 20 minutes early the ruis were still closed.

Excellent - highly recommended. Our Pompeii guide Sasa was extremely knowledgeable, kept a great pace, and led us through many parts of Pompeii sharing a solid overview and great details while avoiding much of the crowds. Ask questions! It is a fascinating snapshot of an ancient port of call. No wasted time or gift-shop breaks. We were in a group of about 14-15 with headsets so easy to hear everything. Good access to bathrooms and quick breakfast/lunch options before and after the tour. Transport to Vesuvius was excellent. We would have loved more time to explore but it’s a long day, so 75 minutes to walk to the top and back is plenty. (Volcano buffs should book a separate Vesuvius tour.) The transport was comfortable, safe, and on time was great A/C. We were in a group of 8, which was perfect. Really great!

Great day out

We had a fantastic day visiting Pompeii and Vesuvius. We were picked up directly from our hotel by our driver it was a little confusing to find him as it was a busy time and there was no sign etc. we collected the rest of our small party on the way which included another couple and a family of four. We met Sasso at Pompeii who was our tour guide. He was a brilliant and engaging guide. We had 2 hours in Pompeii he took us to the peak places and a very exciting new area where archaeologists had only just uncovered a new building with frescos and mosaics. He was very passionate and excited to show us this! As we had booked to see Vesuvius straight after there was no free time to look around Pompeii, another hour would have been great so that we could see more, but we definitely got a lot out of our 2 hours there! We then met back with our driver who took us most of the way up to Vesuvius. We then got in a taxi shuttle to the park entrance. It’s a steep walk up to the crater but worth it. There’s shops along the way to get water if you run out (like we did) and other food/drink/souvenirs. When we got back down to the entrance for the taxi/shuttle bus there were others waiting for the same service and got on it before we could, we had a set time to get back to our driver but we were quite late as a few buses came but others got on first… in the end our group had to barge our way onto the bus as other people were doing the same and we were never going to get down before the end of the day if we didn’t! We finally met our driver who had been waiting and made the journey back to Sorrento!

We enjoyed the tour of Pompeii/ but they added two more people than the tour I booked this had to wait for them and was hard to hear. We then drove to Vesuvius which was fine but again had to wait for Driver and other passengers. Maybe the tour companies need to keep better track of the companies they hire to carry out their tours. We pad extra fro a small tour and it didn’t happen.👎

Big Disappointment

This excursion was a big disappointment. The drive there was overcrowded and uncomfortable for many hours. There were four adults plus the driver in a small car. On the trip to Vesuvius our driver promised the other couple to return early so we practically ran up the volcano and back. The driver was simply that a driver. Don’t expect any information along the way. I would find another tour company for this excursion.

KInd customer we are sorry for the fact that you were not happy and for your review, however the little uncomfortable car was a mercedes E-class for 5 people, usually the drivers have the duty to drive, for this we for the excursion we add the guided tour, if the other couple who were in a hurry it was not something that had to concern your tour it was enough to communicate it to us or it was enough to make an agreement with the travel companions since there were only 4 of you and the times of the tour were respected.

Sasa was great and shared a ton of information about Pompeii in a friendly manner. Not only that, but he worked out how to pass the rest of the tour as Mt. Vesuvius got closed on that day because of snow. With his recommendations I spent the day in a much more productive manner than if I would on my own. Thanks Sasa!
