Did not reflect Australian cuisine
Jane_J, Apr 2024
Put guide gave a great historical narrative of the area but the food part of the tour was pathetic - sausage roll, macaroon and a beer- you have to be joking
Great walking food tour
Susan_P, Mar 2024
I liked it all, the food, the part of town and the history learned. Bruce was a wonderful tour guide.
Great guide, history and food! Highly recommend!
arctikram, Mar 2024
Bruce was a fantastic guide! Very personable, informative and knowledgeable! He knew so much of the local history as well as providing an amazing taste of Sydney! It was like lunch and dinner for us! We had a lobster taco, a sausage roll, the creamiest gelato we've ever had, a macaroon and finished with delicious thai food. We went back to the Thai food restaurant for dinner another night as we enjoyed it so much! We would highly recommend this tour and Bruce as he was an amazing guide.
Great food and lots of walking
Christina_H, Mar 2024
Great food, a variety of types and and a good amount of food. Bruce did an excellent job sharing history. There is a lot of walking but not too much uphill. A great food tour to check out!
A Wonderful Food Tour in Sydney!
Lisa_S, Mar 2024
We had a wonderful time on our food tour in Sydney and we would recommend this tour for anyone traveling to Sydney. The food selections were fabulous and we had just the right amount to be full. The tour guide also gave us a lot of history about the areas. Thank you
Barangaroo and the Rocks Food tour

Scenic and Fun
Brian_M, Feb 2024
We enjoyed some great foods and at the same time our guide Bruce provided a lot of info regarding the places we were seeing in Sydney.
Didn’t care for this experience.
BarryPalmer, Jan 2024
Small portions of food. 10 people sharing 3 sausage rolls was ridiculous. 10 people sharing 4 small plates of Thai food. One macaroon each. One small beer. Friends left to go buy food. Disappointed in this tour.
Response from Host, Feb 2024
You seem to have forgotten the lobster taco and the huge gelato at the start of the tour, as well as the great views, history and stories from our talented guide. The challenge with this tour is that it is between meals as it runs 1.30pm-5pm. So we serve equivalent of a generous meal half meal at the start (late lunch) and again towards the end (before dinner) and a beer mid way. This adds up to more then a meal if eaten in one sitting.
Great experience

This was a great tour and well worth the time. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the food was fantastic.
Food and History Tour of Sydney
Suzanne_P, Jan 2024
We had a lovely tour of Sydney, including many stops for local cuisine, starting with lobster tacos, followed by really good gelato, beer at a local brewery, outstanding Thai cuisine and finally, macaroons. Our guide, Leslie, was knowledgeable and entertaining and we all had a grand time.
Fine

I am not interested in ice cream or sweets. A little sparce. The guide was very kind and explanatory
Response from Host, Jan 2024
We had the worst weather so nothing was at its best. The torrential rain meant we missed the beautiful walk and some of the stories. All our booking information includes the top class gelato, award winning macarons and brewery pub beer, as well as Thai food, sausage rolls and lobster taco. Its always worth checking the info before you book. We aim for 2 half meals (one at either end), but the dreadful weather and very wet walk would not have helped you feel full or happy.
Don't waste your money, Very disappointing !
Josh_P, Sep 2023
There is nothing authentic about this tour!! Since when is a sausage roll authentic Australian food ? Or Gelato ice cream for that matter? To add insult to injury your so called pub food and drink consisted of a pizza and craft beer,(no Aussie classics like VB, XXXX or Thooeys)only fruity beer and black beer. They also promised us Thai food at the end of the tour, that didn't happen, instead we got a biscuit from a bakery ?? For the price they charged and the blatant misinformation about the food I'd never return nor would I recommend this to any of my friends. Josh
Response from Host, Oct 2023
This tour is a Taste of Sydney now rather than a walk through 1970s ocker food options. Yes gelato is now an Aussie classic, loved by more than the many Italian Australians who brought it to us and the place we visit on tour is award-winning. The sausage roll is our nod back to 1950's but upgraded by one of our most popular bakeries, also award-winning and we love them because they have a history of supporting social enterprises like us. Re beer - we guess that can go both ways -- old or new trends in beer, but in the Rocks area the trend is towards boutique brewery pubs, now making it hard to find a Fosters! (sorry, mate ) The macarons are also award-winning! Sorry you weren't a fan of the food, but we're glad you liked your young tour guide and he was very appreciative of your generous tip.
A perfect afternoon

Bruce was a fantastic guide! He was able to adjust the information he provided about the area to suit the interests of our group. His local area knowledge along with the food and the perfect weather made this a very memorable experience! The pace was relaxed and easily managed. Thank you!
Great time and food!

Loved our tour with Aaron! Great variety of food offered and great information and different sites we visited. Aaron was a wonderful and very personable guide and was such a wonderful help in finding a cab for a member of our party who needed to leave early due to some health issues. Very glad we booked this tour!
A great way to see this part of Sydney!
Saralyn_T, Feb 2023
We had a great time. Bruce was totally entertaining, knowledgeable and patient. All of the four of us loved the gelato and we went back there the next day. It’s a great company and a great experience. Highly recommend.
Not our favorite tour
Cheryl_L, Feb 2023
Not our favorite tour. Unfortunately this tour didn’t seem like it was about the food. Guide seemed disconnected from the group. Provided lots of information about the areas we were in, but did not really tell us about the food, what we were having or why. Fortunately the people on the tour with us were great. We have done food tours all around the world but would put this one in the bottom of all experiences.
Response from Host, Feb 2023
Its interesting that the same tour on the same day can get 5 star reviews and a 2 star review.  We are so sad we are the bottom of your list :( This tour was designed as an intro to Aussie food as we eat it, with sausage rolls, beer, gelato, Thai food (Australia's favourite takeaway) as well as those delicious lobster tacos.  We share a couple of places to head back to on a short stay.  We also provide a quick overview of the area and its history as well as the opportunity to see the iconic sights for the time poor traveler. We hopefully don't overdo history or sights for those that don't care and just want great food (missed the mark with you. sorry). Note we are a social enterprise and charity. There are plenty of other food tours in Sydney, but our mission includes supporting training and employment for refugees and migrants, sharing stories, supporting local businesses and more. Our tours are designed to taste good and to tell a story. We have a range of other tours if your interest is in our local ingredients (produce tour) or the way refugees have improved our diet ( Afghan or Vietnamese tour) or alternative history (Chinatown tour - yes Chinese people came at the same time at the Brits) and much more.  Check the website www.tastetours.com.au So for anyone looking to book this tour, please consider whether food, sights and history is your thing.  It its just food maybe choose a different tour company.
Eat Sydney, Gobble Her Up!

Our tour guide, Aaron was the absolute BEST! He was very personable and a joy to hang out with. He really showed us Sydney for all it could be and we really regret not spending more time there! We’ll be back :) We had the most amazing time and we definitely left with much more than just full bellies :) Thanks, Aaron!! -Sabrina and J
Great tour!
