A Great Three Our Tour!
Paul_M, Mar 2024
We loved this experience. Our guide Bruce presented us with a lot of the history of China and his passion and love for the Chinese culture was evident. The restaurant selections and food offerings were on point and each were exceptional. The tea ceremony was a special moment in a wonderful setting. I would never, ever tried Portuguese custard tarts, but I LOVED them. I will go out of my way for a Portuguese tart from now on. This was a great value and a very memorable excursion for us. Highly recommend. Thanks Bruce.
Disappointing

The part where the guide didn't show up and the nine people were left with no tour. We were given a full refund but left with nothing to do on the last day of our trip
Response from Host, Feb 2024
This was a dreadful situation where we also did not know what had happened with the guide until the next day! But we were in full touch with you at the time and offered to send another guide, which you refused. I hope you managed to enjoy your drinks at the hotel bar. I informed your whole group, as soon as we found out the next day, that the guide had been in a car crash. He had been in hospital in shock and with no working phone. Luckily he is ok, and is now fully aware of the importance of letting us know if he cant make it to a tour. I am so sorry that this happened to you and to him. A first for us all, hopefully never to be repeated!
Wonderful Tea Ceremony
Cheryl_D, Jan 2024
The tea ceremony was a very beautiful experience, has helped me slow down at home when drinking tea and savour the relaxation.
Yum!
Louise_W, Jan 2024
Excellent. Bruce had lots of knowledge about the food and cultures and guided us from one delicious experience to another.
A magical taste of Chinatown
Louise_R, Dec 2023
Noor was a fantastic guide. She has a wonderful sense of humour and really brought alive the history in Chinatown. The selection of food was all delicious either a good balance of savoury and sweet. The tea tasting ceremony was the highlight for me.
Delicious

Loved the tea room. Ahmed did a great job.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 asking to write more is annoying. You should stop this part.
Has potential to be great, just not quite there yet
Rebecca_L, Nov 2023
Food was super delicious!! Unfortunately the 'tour' side of things was a bit underwhelming, save for a brief introduction to the establishment of Chinatown and looking at a few artworks along the way. Our tour guide was a very friendly, however after asking if anyone in the group had dietary requirements, he seemed to forget all about them. There was a vegetarian lady on our tour, and our guide forgot to get her a vegetarian alternative at the Korean fried chicken stop, and a lady with a seafood allergy was given anchovies, even after he had re asked about allergies before entering one restaurant. I think this tour has potential to be amazing, but the health of the guests on the tour must be prioritised over having a good chat along the walk.
Good eats, great guide.

Guide Aiden was awesome. We had a great time on the food tour. The food stops were good. The tea ceremony and tasting was informative. I learned a lot of tea. Aiden provided good information and did an excellent job as our guide. My favorite was the noodle dish. I’m glad I had the chance to book this tour.
Excellent Tour!
Shandra_W, Nov 2023
Aidan was very friendly and knowledgeable of the Asian culture. The food was very good!!! I would highly recommend this tour!!!

Diverse cultural experience
Jeanette_R, Nov 2023
Love the energy of the hosts. They loved to share with us the enjoyment that comes from food from all cultures. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
Could be a very tasty evening!
Ann_D, Oct 2023
This tour has the potential to be a delicious tour. Adian, the tour guide was knowledgeable about Chinatown. However, for the cost we did not expect to find ourselves eating at a Food Hall for one of the courses. It would be far better to foods from established authentic restaurants. Also, adding a little extra time at each place to get a feel for it as well as having the option to purchase a drink would be good. It was a great group of people on the tour. Definitely needs improvement with restaurant choices currently being used.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
We are so sorry that you did not enjoy the tour. We always take great care in choosing the right mix. The Korean Chicken stall in the "food hall" is actually a branch of the most popular Korean restaurant (serving the same delicious food) which usually has long queues. The other restaurants and shops we use are highly regarded, win 'people's choice' awards, and again attract queues. And that tea ceremony, that shop is a gem! Thank you for the feedback about timing, we appreciate it!
Great food, excellent...

Yum yum in Chinatown
katie_l, Jul 2023
Absolutely loved the hand pulled noodles!! Would recommend to anyone who wants to learn about the cultures and eat good food.
Memorable and well worth it!
Krisma_V, May 2023
Our host Noor was so lovely, very welcoming and shared lots of interesting information with us! Noor thoughtfully organised food for us to eat as soon as the tour commenced which distracted us from the cold weather! The food throughout the tour was delicious and we went home very happy and satisfied!
Great way to find authentic food in Chinatown
Lisa_D, Apr 2023
Food was amazing. Tour guide Aiden was friendly, punctual and provided a good experience. Aiden said he was new to the tours but he did a great job. Just some tips- wait for all the group to assemble- and then stand in the middle rather than at the front so all can hear what he is saying. Some older Americans were walking slower and were a little deaf. The tour in general would have been good to know how much to eat where. After the Portuguese tart I thought we were at dessert. We then had the Malaysian yummy breakfast but it was hard to have rice after sweets. Wine with one meal would have been even better :) Overall a great experience to find hidden gems - especially the noodle house. Would recommend to others.
Response from Host, Apr 2023
We are so glad you loved the food and would recommend this tour! Your tour guide is brand new and we appreciate your feedback.
Highly recommended your
Arthur_R, Apr 2023
We had Bruce as our guide and what a great guide he was. Turned out it was just our family of 3 on the tour and Bruce made every stop an education about the history of the area and the food. He brought the Asian culture to life for us. The food was all delicious and plentiful. The tea ceremony was a highlight. Thank you so much Bruce. We highly recommend this experience.
Great food and good...
Jill, Apr 2023
Great food and good variety. Informative history of chinatown. Best dumplings ever. It rained, but it certainly didn't dampen the experience. Highly recommend this tour.
Fun Foodies Function
Bev_F, Mar 2023
Bruce had lots of interesting information... I felt safe in the group and learnt new foods and restaurants..
I love food tours when I travel, but this is by far the BEST!
Balfour_S, Feb 2023
Wonderful introduction to the multi-faceted food cultures of Sydney's Chinatown. Fusion foods like Emperor's Puffs, Macau Tarts, and KFC; Chinese dishes; and Malaysian dishes. All complimented by a visit to a Chinese tea merchant to sample the flavors of tea. Our guide, Noor, is fantastic. She definitely enjoys sharing the culture and history of Sydney. But, even more, she is such am empathetic and thoughtful person. Walking and chatting with her is a true pleasure. If she is giving the tour, you can't miss it.
