      Fun experience something different

We had a great time! My husband was dubious but he had so much fun. Lots if kimonos to choose from. The women who helped us were very patient and happy to help us.
      Won’t book with them again

Do not book this activity. After this incident I won’t be booking with viator again. Viator provided incorrect meeting information for the meet up, just landmarks. When we called them for help, they gave us a non working number for the vendor. We continued to call viator for help, with no resolution. Mysteriously, the vendor called my phone after viator reached them, and couldn’t speak English. Long story short, Viator dropped the ball, we showed up 15mins early, waited 45mins, just for no one to show up to meet us. Now refusing to give me a refund. I will continue to escalate this matter as well, until I’m made whole. I won’t EVER book with viator again.
Great experience to learn more about Japanese culture

This was an awesome experience! After being in Japan for a couple of weeks I had done a lot of the same tourist stuff for days on end, and seen many Japanese women walking around in kimonos taking pictures. I learned enough to know they these could be historic garments, or new, modern kimonos worn for special occasions, or a wide variety of kimonos that fell somewhere in between. There were plenty of services that rent an outfit for a photo shoot or even for a day and I considered doing that as well. However, this was a completely different experience that gave me a nice change from just "sightseeing" to actually participating in something hands on. For anyone who is crafty or loves sewing and fashion, it allows you to understand the garment better, plus the added benefit of keeping it in the end. Learning how to modify a used or outdated kimono in order to give it a new life was incredibly interesting and made me want to learn more about the history and evolution of these garments.
      Beautiful Kimonos and kind hosts

The kimonos were beautiful! Very sweet and helpful guides. Make sure to ask to keep your outfit on (if you purchase the obi set) so you can take more pictures after the appointment as you won’t be able to take too many pictures there.
      Awful experience

I really didn’t enjoy this at all. I got there and there were 3 people there. I wasn’t introduced to anyone so I didn’t really know what was going on or who worked there and who was a customer. Then they told me to pick a kimono but the quality was really bad and I didn’t really want to wear any of them. Most of them were polyester and they stood over my shoulder pressuring me to choose a kimono straight away but I just wanted some space to look at them. I felt really uncomfortable and just knew I wasn’t going to enjoy it so I made an excuse and left.
      Beautiful experience

I had a really nice time trying out all the different kimonos, obi, and choosing and making mine! There was so much different choices that I almost felt lost, Mei was really nice and patient with me haha It's a really nice experience and souvenir to bring back home, I would definitely recommend it :)

PLEASE SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. Mae is a young woman, building her business from scratch. We had such an amazing time with Mae. She was super sweet, caring, fun, professional and friendly. We made beautiful kimonos and Mae made sure there were fitted to perfection.
      Beautiful and fun

Choosing a beautiful kimono and the accessories to wear it for the photo was fun. Be aware that your take home kimono will be in two parts: top and skirt, so that its easy to wear. Real kimono wearers tie a tight ‘belt’ around the waist and fold the excess fabric over it, which is very hard to get right, so this is a good way for the inexpert to be able to wear it. However, it means that you won’t be able to have it as a pretty wall-hanging. Also, you need to be prepared to buy the obi as an extra, if you plan to wear the kimono, as I think it would look odd without it? We enjoyed our experience and my husband came away with a very nice jacket, with his ‘name’ in Kangi on the lapel. His took less time, so he had to wait around a bit. We highly recommend this; the hostesses were lovely and it was a delightful insight into a small Japanese home.
      Kimono to take home

We arrived early and we had to sit in the heat and wait. We took the metro and normally it takes awhile to figure where we are going. The kimono is beautiful but we cut it in half. Not sure why.
      Amazing/fun

Jedoch kosten so gut wie alle was.
