Overview

Learn about the flavors and ingredients of Aztec, Mayan and Mexican cuisine on this intimate tour in a local’s home. Under the tutelage of your host, prepare a 3-course meal—soup, main, and dessert—along with homemade salsa and tortillas. You’ll also sample and learn the proper way to taste mezcal. Afterward, share the meal you’ve prepared with your hosts and new amigos.

Prepared , with tomatillo, chile serrano, cilantro, avocado and garlic, happy to share with you my abuela secret to keep it fresh and green.

Tacos al Pastor

Thin pork loin strips, marinated with 3 chiles, specias, achiote, orange and pinnaple fresh juice; served with grill pinneaple, cilantro and salsa.

Dessert

Three milk and creme cheese jelly.

We booked this course as part of our honeymoon and it has been a real highlight! Lily was so welcoming, knowledgeable and passionate about Mexican cuisine. She explained everything in great detail and gave tips on where to buy ingredients in the area. We loved the group cooking approach and everyone given a task to do to contribute to the meal. Making the tacos was so fun and all the food was delicious. We met lovely ladies from America and enjoyed sharing lunch with them. I would recommend the course to anyone and we can't wait to try the recipes at home!

My daughter and I really enjoyed this cooking class!! Lilly is so wonderful and her assistants were great too! We had a small group of 6, and everybody had a great time. The slicing, dicing, roasting and tasting, we all had a job and in the end shared a fabulous meal together. We even made the tortillas from scratch! The food and experience is something we will always remember! Thank you Lilly!!

This was a wonderful experience. Lilly is so engaging and her assistants very kind. You actually get to learn about Mexican cooking and also participate in a fun, engaging way and enjoying the meal together with Lilly and your group at the end is so fun. We were a family of 4 with two 20 something daughters but there were couples and single people on our tour as well. Highly recommend-one of the highlights of our vacation!

Amazing food experience in Tulum

Lily was such an amazing host and chef. She welcomed a group of about 10 of us into her home and we made (and ate) the most delicious food. We did this on our last day in Tulum, and it ended up being our most favorite excursion while we were visiting. I highly recommend. Lily also called a cab for everyone at the end which was so incredibly helpful!

Our instructor was very lively and got everyone engaged. She had two assistants that helped everything go very smoothly. There was a lot of material to cover and the class felt very comfortable to interact and ask questions. Of course we ate what we made, delicious, and drank her cervezas and mezcal. We all had fun and learned a lot, and she played good music. Mariposa Traccioner…

What an enjoyable adventure. I have been to several cooking and baking classes in Austin Texas. However, this is at the top of my list. So casual, so inactive, the host was full of warmth and energy that spread to all 16 participants. I HIGHLY recommended this treat for all. Also, loved the music and her dancing around while we cut vegetables, made masa for corn tortillas.
