    Viator Booking Failure
    Glenda_P, May 2024
Viator is a third-party booking system. BC Ferries never received our Viator booking. The bus was sold out, and the next bus was an additional 4-hour wait, and extra purchase. We had to take an expensive taxi to get to the ferry. I EXPECT A FULL REFUND!

It was very frustrating because the trip back took a fraction of the time that your trip going to Victoria took and was much less expensive, including an Uber ride from the port to our hotel. We definitely would’ve gone a different route had we known ahead of time.

Comfortable and very clean transportation. Bus Driver was friendly and very detailed when explaining what should be expected during the processes from the drive to the Vancouver Ferry Station, on the Ferry, returning to the bus and the drive to Victoria Downtown. I don't know his name, he was a Chinese gentleman. Very nice and welcoming and comfortable journey. Thank you!

    Post cruise self-service option
    Scott_R, Oct 2023
After taking a Alaskan cruise we went to the taxi ranks at the cruise terminal and got a cab ($15 CAD flat fee 09/23) to the Central Station in Vancouver. About a 15 minute drive. There is an A&W, a coffee shop and sushi outlet in the Central Station. Note: the A&W doesn't open until later in the morning. The overhead luggage rack is not very big, so even a roll-on suitcase will need to go under neath in the bus luggage department. Once aboard the bus, it is about an hour drive to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal. The bus drives directly onto the ferry. You while get off the bus while transiting over to Victoria. The driver locks the bus. The BC Ferries have a White Spot cafe with hot and cold food options. A little pricey for what you get. There is also a microwave in the dining area if you bring your own food that needs to be reheated. About 15 minutes before landing on Vancouver Island you will be instructed to return to the bus. Bus drives off the ferry and drops you at your stop. We were staying at the Doubletree (just behind the Empress) and it was a short walk (~300 feet) to the front door. All in all a very and convenient option. A float plane or helicopter is faster, put costs more and has luggage limitations. Note: If you have lots of luggage that you can not personally manage or mobility issues you may want to consider using

U am very annoyed that there was not a Seniors Category when we purchased our bus/ferry tickets. We travelled on a Monday, and there should have been free ferry passage. This cost me and my wife a total of $37.00 that we should not have had to pay
Itt was a pleasant and safe trip for an elderly passenger wth a walker.

Arrive Early & Locate Bus Bays
    Rob_P, Sep 2023
When you arrive at Pacific Central Station it is likely no staff will be there. Also there are no signs indicating where the bus leaves from - this comment features in just about all the feedback I have read. The buses leave from the back of Pacific Central and there are two bays for this route. Note BC Ferries and Wilson's buses are who Viator use for this travel. It is also likely that the bus will not have any signage indicating its destination. Confirm with the driver. The bus has to leave on time as it must meet the ferry schedule. No waiting for late arrivals. The bus drives onto the ferry, you disembark and proceed to a viewing deck. You cannot access the bus during the ferry trip until the ferry master advises passengers to return to their vehicles. The experience I had was great, the driver informative and helpful. He explained everything you can and can't do for the trip. I can only reiterate the importance to locate where the Pacific Central Station bus bays are and don't be late.
Worst guide in my 40yrs of travelling.

Paying $80 to Uber back from Victoria to the ferry terminal to get my luggage that was left behind. Zero communication from bus driver about procedures.
    Wonderful driver

The bus driver went down to buy us donuts from Duffins and he was very excited to show us when the ferry door was opening while it was docking!
