New way to see the town

Great way to learn a little history and who doesn’t like a taste at a few restaurants. We were meeting for a friend reunion so able to talk with one another.

Our guide, Terry, was quite knowledgeable and his appreciation for the history, people, and culture of Alexandria was palpable. This tour was part of a surprise trip to Alexandria for my husband. We have talked about taking a walking food tour for years in other cities and finally did it in Alexandria! It was an awesome experience and something I would highly recommend. We were so full by the end of the tour that we had to get our dessert to go! But what a delicious late night snack it was when we finally ate it! This was well worth the cost and a wonderful experience.

We had a great time on this tour. The restaurant choices were wonderful, with great food selections and very generous portions. In addition, the sites we stopped at and history of Alexandria were interesting and informative. Our seasoned guide Lynn did a fabulous job managing the tour and seamlessly coordinating with each restaurant. I also greatly appreciated how easily they accommodated my vegan diet. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Old Town!

This was our second time enjoying this tour - this time with guests from out of town. We enjoyed both events and our guests loved the experience, getting a taste of the family owned restaurants in Old Town, hearing historical context and moments from this beautiful city and enjoying the walk on a gorgeous day.

Wayne's personality really made the tour! He was so full of knowledge and eager to share. Although I have no special food needs, there were accommodations for those who did. Each restaurant had amazing food in great portions! I'd recommend this trip again and again. The cupcakes weren't the best but the information, Wayne and all other food was beyond expectations!

Lynn was our host. She was terrific! Very knowledgeable on the history of area. She also kept her cool when we endured a drenching thunderstorm and tried to keep us as dry as possible while continuing on. One restaurant we stopped at was family style and really doesn’t work well for this type of tour being with strangers. Although the food was great it wasn’t plentiful at this stop. I think they should reconsider this restaurant. I would recommend this tour despite this and the weather though. Lynn was informative and the group of other travelers were fun to interact with.

Guide Wayne was wonderful! We were able to have amazing bites that really reflected the diversity of the area. Wayne was an expert in navigating the old town area by foot and in local history. Great experience and looking forward to exploring the area more in the future.
