Overview

What To Expect

Even if you spent your day seeing every part of Washington, D.C. under the sun, you’re in for a completely different experience the minute you hop on this sightseeing bus tour. Settle into a comfortable seat and watch the sunset over the U.S. Capitol as it turns its artificial lights on.

You’ll spend three-hours on this guided nighttime tour passing by some of the top sites and monuments in the nation’s capital. Keep your eyes peeled out of the windows, while keeping an ear out for your guide who narrates throughout the tour.

The Jefferson Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery are just a few of the sites you’ll see while driving. Sip on free bottled water that’s provided; you’ll want to be refreshed for the 10 photo stops you’ll take along the way, including stops at the White House and MLK Memorial.

Guests may choose to stay on the bus at any stop as desired or ask the tour guide how to modify the amount of walking at any stop.
There will be standing and walking during this tour. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather as much of the tour is outdoors. Umbrellas and layers are recommended.
UPGRADE: Optional upgrade available at checkout to include ticket for self-guided entry into the Washington Monument. Tickets will be handed out during your night tour and can be used for the following day of travel.
If you purchase an additional tour or ticket: Please ask your tour guide or driver for your upgrade when being checked in.
All purchases of packages are final. Tickets are not refundable or transferable. Cannot be exchanged for another ticket. Only refundable in the event the site is closed.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

This tour completely exceeded my expectations! Vernon, our guide, was personable and educated us on the history behind each tour stop while throwing a joke in here and there. Even Godfrey the driver was engaging! Would definitely recommend this to anyone considering.

This was our fifth trip to DC with night memorial tours with various companies and this was by far the worst experience. We brought friends and kept telling them how fabulous the night tour would be and we were nothing but embarrassed. Sally our tour director spent her time on the microphone in the bus talking about her pop culture movie opinions and how annoying 8th grade groups were -instead of giving us the memorial facts. Instead she had us “gather outside the bus” where she couldn’t be heard and wasted the time so that we were “always in a rush” and had little to no time to actually see the memorials! Because of the limited time we were forced to choose memorial to visit. For example, she talked so long outside the bus that she said we had to pick between Lincoln and the Vietnam… That we didn’t have time to see both. She instead referred to the tour as “just a taste” and that we would have to go back to see them during the day. Seriously??? That’s why we paid to have a NIGHT tour! To see the memorials at their best. Our limited time in the city did not allow for us to “revisit.” The time on the bus should have included the facts. NOT her movie opinions and we should have had ample time to see the monuments!

By definition, this type of tour balances covering lots of sites and information in a limited time. If we suggest that you go back to something you love again, it is because we know that many people may want to linger at a favorite spot longer than the tour time allows or see it again at a different time of day. It does seem that you may not have understood what was being said, because the way you have characterized it doesn't match what was said, its intent or what the majority of our guests say about their time with us. But we do appreciate your coming out with us and sharing feedback.

SCAM - never use this company!!!!! Paid $125 for a service and got scammed

Will never use this company again. Will try and condense this situation. Bought 5 tickets online for the Night time bus tour (price for bus tour only was listed as $310). Upon purchasing opted to purchase the upgrade to include 5 tickets to the Air and Space Museum (for a total of $435, so an extra $125). The listing on the app, says tickets to the upgrade “for use the following day of travel”. Also it is noted to ask tour guide for your upgraded tickets. Upon checking in at 7pm, I asked the man who was checking us in (who happened to be our driver, Kris) when we would get our vouchers for the Air and Space upgrade that we paid for. Kris told me we would get a text or email with the ticket information. We enjoyed the tour, Kris was an excellent driver and James was a wonderful tour guide. The next morning, I did NOT received a text or email with our Air and Space tickets. So I contacted customer service via the Viator app. I explained the situation and the agent said they would send me an email with the ticket information. The email with link sent 2 times, simply took me to the Viator app that showed my reservation for the bus tour on April 2 along with the upgrade. After going back and forth several times, as the agent first tried to tell me they could not find a reservation for me. Then, that the air and space tour was for April 2 (I again explained and highlighted the screenshot showing the bus tour was for the night of April 2nd and the air and space was to be the following day - April 3rd). Again confused the agent told me the tour was a three hour timeframe. I said correct the bus tour was three hours, to be followed by the next day air and space tickets- that is what we paid the extra $125 for. Again confused, the agent told me that any changes made to the reservation could not be honored. I explained I did NOT change anything on the reservation. To which the agent said, “oh you already made the upgrade. Please call this number +12024500700” During this time- I did get a text message from a random DC number with a screenshot of 2 tickets for air and space museum. One ticket read “3 of 6” and the other read “4 of 6”. Never did the agent I was speaking to mention I would be receiving any screenshots of tickets. Again the screenshot was of 2 tickets and we are a family of 5 - we paid for 5 tickets at $125. The screenshot tickets also had a name of who purchased the tickets- Hazem Elsamahy. What place will let me enter with screenshot tickets AND the buyer has a different name than me. And again, we only received 2 screenshots I called repeatedly, only for the phone to ring a few times, and then the phone would hang up. The agent said they emailed the vendor and called and left a message, let’s wait 1 hour. I said I would be willing to wait until 11am to receive the tickets, for we were leaving DC that evening. 11am came and no text and no email. I asked the agent for a refund. They said they emailed a request for a refund. The following day I received an email from Viator saying “ Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to offer a refund. We apologize that you were not able to fulfill your travel plans, and hope that we may be of service to you in your future travels. Regards, I find this completely unacceptable, how can you charge me $125 and not provide me with the service I paid for?! Will never think about using this company again and have already told family and friends to beware and stay clear of Viator.

Awesome tour. Tyrone & Chuck did a great job. Tyrone was friendly, funny, & gave us great background information & fun facts. My kids (16, 12 & 10) enjoyed his narrative & learned a lot too. He even recommended a restaurant that we passed along the way & we ending up going there the next day for lunch & it was great. We upgraded to include the Washington Monument tickets & I’m so glad we did because I had no luck getting them online. Overall a great tour with great bonus options.

They called me! We were in the wrong place, waiting in line, and the driver called me! I have never experienced that before, so I was so thrilled that they were not going to leave without me and my family. And we all had a blast--the tour guide was funny and knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. My kids, my husband and I all enjoyed ourselves immensely. There were bathroom breaks and specific instructions on making sure we get back to the bus on time. The tour guide always made sure we were where we needed to be, and when the bus had to move (per a police order), he made sure to find the bus for us before we all walked unnecessarily. It was a great night and we're glad we booked it! Also, the Air and Space Museum tickets for the next day sealed the deal!

The tour, the atmosphere, and the people were amazing! I would recommend this experience for anyone young and older! It’ll make you laugh and cry all in the same night. I would only say that in some areas it is very!! hard to hear the guide because he doesn’t have a microphone once we exit the bus. No complaints just letting people know to stay close or you might not hear them and all the information!!
