What To Expect

Depart from a centrally-located pickup point in Zurich and relax during the scenic journey to Lucerne by air-conditioned minivan. Lucerne is an absolutely beautiful city! The views of the water and mountains were amazing. The town is so quaint with lots of shopping and restaurants along the water. The tour guide spoke during the ride there giving us interesting information about Switzerland. Then we had lots of free time to explore the city on our own. My teen daughter and I had a great time. I highly recommend this tour!

The tour was just as described and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The guide gave us an interesting walking tour and history of the area and then allowed us plenty of time to explore on our own. We decided to take the boat cruise which was lovely and enjoyed a delicious lunch in Lucerne.

We loved the boat tour and walking along all of the bridges. The town was lovely everywhere we turned there was something lovely to see. We enjoyed the tour on the way to Lucerne and then enjoyed the time we had to really see what we wanted to focus on.

We visited the day before the carnival. Some attractions were unavailable. In addition, the cruise that was recommended was not running in February. Lastly, the gondola was not running. Many things were not within control of the tour company.

The town of Lucerne was quite nice, definitely worth the visit. The tour up to Mount Pilatus was an extra bonus. The tour guide was imformative and keep it interesting the whole time.

Take the self run tour. You will need the 5 to 7 hours to do justice for the magical & beautiful city of Lucerne. Guide sets you up well with a good instructive map of the city. Our fine lady guide , Anke ,was so informative , instructive& entertaining. Our lady driver , Berta, was more than an equal in dexterity to any of the fine male drivers we have experienced in Europe. A very good , well run & professional company. All went like clockwork from start to finish. Cheaper than booking a train.

Beautiful day trip. The lake boat trip was very relaxing however nothing major to see so for those who do not wish to spend the extra I would say you are not missing too much. The day can be easily spent walking around this lovely town and seeing the other points if interest.

I need a refund. I was put out of the bus in Lucerne and left to wonder around by myself for 6 hours.. I thought I was getting a guided tour.

Meaning, our guests are accompanied by the tour guide from Zurich to Lucerne and return in the evening. This tour is designed for guests who are interested in exploring the city of Lucerne at their own pace. The 6 hours of free time are ideal to discover the old town, embark on a boat ride, visit the Swiss Museum of Transport and much more! We regret that the information of the tour went unnoticed and thus your expectations were not met. The bus was old and dirty. It had a weird smell. This tour is just transport from Zurich to Lucerne so it this is what you are looking for then this will work

We are surprised to hear that the bus was old, dirty, and with a weird smell as our bus partner is committed to strive high-quality standards. For example, to avoid bad smells or dirtiness, food and drinks are not allowed in the bus and every day the drivers check and clean the bus before the tour starts. As officially stated in the tour description in Viator, our guests are accompanied by the tour guide from Zurich to Lucerne and in the evening from Lucerne back to Zurich. The available time in Lucerne of approx. 6 hours is unguided since it is designed for our guests to explore the city at their own pace. Nevertheless, all our guests receive a comprehensive information booklet at check-in with recommendations of sights and activities and upgrade options. As any other destination in Switzerland, Lucerne can be visited individually by train. While a return ticket to Lucerne would cost CHF 50, our tour is only CHF 9 more expensive. We believe this is a very considerable price as our guests have a tour guide explaining the history and culture of our country and sharing personal anecdotes. This is the main reason why our guests opt to join a guided tour instead of an individual visit.
