The Buenos Aires Obelisk (Obelisco de Buenos Aires), among the city’s most iconic landmarks, towers over the intersection of two main thoroughfares. Erected in 1936 to commemorate the quadricentennial of the city’s founding, the pencil-like column stands a striking 220 feet (67 meters) tall and marks the spot where the nation’s flag was first flown.

Beautiful Buenos Aires
We had Mariano (Vivir BA Tours) as our guide, he was knowledge, very friendly and very patient with all our questions on everything and anything since this is my first time here. We had a real good time seeing the city and highly recommend this tour.

Treat Yourself to This!
Treat yourself to this experience! I've had over two dozen private tour guides in various cities, and Mariano is among the very top tier! He is prompt, knowledgeable, communicative, and attuned to preferences and requests for customization. He'll make your day informative and fun in his gracious way.

Fantastic guide Gabi shows us the city
our tour was scheduled on a day the tour office was closed, so no one was there- but our guide came and was wonderful. Gabi was very knowledgable, friendly and engaging. Five hours may seem like a long tour, but the pace was perfect and it actually flew by because it was so interesting and entertaining. Highly recommend- also we used public transportation (bus and subway) and went to local restaurants so it is a great way to orient yourself to the city a bit.

Great way to see the city
My guide for the day was Mariano. Good comunication and arrangements were made to give me the most time seeing the different areas of the city during my tour. His English is very good and has a good knowledge of the local history. A good day out
