A lush expanse of terraced fields, forested hillsides, and cascading waterfalls in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, the Ourika Valley ((Vallée de l’Ourika) is a natural oasis just an hour from the city of Marrakech.
I had a fantastic trip today, met some lovely people and had an incredible tour guide Abdullah-thank you so much for making the day so entertaining and informative.
Really enjoyed this trip. Hassan the guide was a star! Enjoyed the visit to the Co-op - buy your Argan stuff there as cheaper and helps locals more. Enjoyed the walk up to waterfall. Be aware it’s quite steep on way up and down. There is a cafe at top so take money with you. Enjoyed the meal at the restaurant at the end of the path down from the waterfall - 3 courses for 120DH (possible to share)
It was a day trip and it was interesting. Exhausting though cos there are mountains to climb but worth experiencing. The tour guide was superb and explained every point for us.
Will surely come back to visit
We booked this experience just a day before and I must say it was great, worth the money spent.
Our guide Abdelhadi was super nice professional.
The pick up was on time.
The restaurant he took us to for lunch served delicious chicken tajine and kebabs.
I would recommend this for a day trip from Marrakesh
The walk was very nice. It was adventurous but we loved it. Our group was not too big so we didn´t have to wait. Unfornately our Guide Hamid didn´t give us any explanation at all . He Just walked with us and afterwards he asked very specific to each person a tip. That wasn´t very professional . We would love to have given a tip if we had any explanation at all.
Mustapha picked us up from our hotel and drove us around to various shops during our ascent towards the Atlas Mountains from Marrakech. The stops along the way were well chosen and made the drive seem quick and interesting. We had lunch before the hole at a wonderful place along the river. It was quite beautiful. Then we met Abdul who escorted along our hike. It’s a little challenging because of the elevation but very doable (we are a family with a 10 & 12 year old). The waterfall was a nice resting point and then we made the way down.
I’d highly recommend going with Them as they genuinely cared for our comfort and safety and felt like hanging out with friends. Wear sneakers and carry some water.
