The New World Center is as dynamic and distinct as its resident symphony (a postgraduate fellowship program that trains young musicians). Its performance hall’s layout seats audience members no more than 13 rows from the stage, and suspended panels are often used for multimedia accompaniments. Concerts are also held in a series of more intimate performance spaces, while the rooftop garden and atrium offer places for guests to socialize. Outside, the venue’s high-style design continues with its SoundScape Park, a 2.5-acre (1-hectare) park that also hosts cultural events and the symphony’s WALLCAST concerts.
The New World Symphony’s season typically runs from early fall to mid-spring, and during that time it hosts dozens of concerts, including traditional, modern, and contemporary classical music performances, plus events aimed at kids and community members. The concert hall is also a stop on some Miami sightseeing itineraries.
