One of New York City’s newest neighborhoods, Hudson Yards is a glistening complex of buildings hugging the Hudson River near the High Line. Visitors can shop, dine, and enjoy the arts, head to the Shed for cultural events, walk around the Vessel—a large piece of public art—and enjoy the view from the Edge, a glass-sided outdoor sky deck.

Capitalism at its finest, explained well
The tour was extremely informative due to our wonderful tour guide, Ellen. Not only did she take us to each spot and give us the standard information, but her clear passion and knowledge of history made it feel as if we had behind-the-scenes knowledge of everything Hudson Yards. The stories were fascinating, and her background in theater helped carried her voice and make the stories even more exciting. Highly recommend for an educational experience with a bit of relaxing exercise (walking)!

Foodies will find early evening more atmospheric than lunchtime. Shops are generally less busy in the mornings and afternoons (outside the office lunch break).
Q:How long does it take to walk around Hudson Yards?
A:With 14 acres (6 hectares) of public space plus more than 100 shops and food and drink outlets, you could easily spend a full day exploring Hudson Yards. Guided tours usually take an hour or more, but time-pressed travelers can stroll past the main highlights in about 20 minutes.
Q:What should you not miss at Hudson Yards?
A:Although Vessel remains closed to visitors, this 150-foot (46-meter) beehive-like structure is a photo op worth having—as are the shots from Edge, the 1,100-foot (340-meter) observation deck. The Shops mall features over 1 mile (1.5 kilometers) of retail heaven, while you can also walk the High Line public park.
