Meet your guide 5 minutes before the tour starts outside Buddakhan Restaurant on the corner of 16th Street and 9th Avenue (address is 75 9th Avenue). In case of inclement weather, please wait inside the vestibule of Chelsea Market and let us know you are there.

What To Expect

Make your own way to the meeting point close to Chelsea Market. Meet your guide and small group of foodie-loving travelers and head into the market.

While your guide brings its history to life, stroll around Chelsea Market and stop at several different vendors for a bite to eat. Food tastings might include Sicilian–style pizza, pastries, donuts, and a guided hot sauce tasting.

Moving on to the High Line, discover the art, history, design, and landscape of this beloved public space. As you stroll, take in the views while your guide reveals its secrets.

Your final stop is the Hudson Yards, home to Vessel, an elaborate honeycomb-like structure, where your tour ends.

Yummy Experience!

I took my husband and four twenty-something children on this tour. We all had a great time. The weather was perfect, and we enjoyed learning about the Chelsea Market and sampling some delicious food. Learning about the area along the High Line was so interesting as well! Chris was very knowlegeable, personable and did a great job as our tour guide.

Have to give a huge shout out to our guide who was super nice and worked so hard to be sure as a gluten-free diner, that I had a good lunch experience at the Chelsea Market. Of course there will be GF options hidden somewhere within that sprawling food court of options, but without drawing attention to my GF status, he sourced really great alternatives: some wonderful artisanal honey tastings, crispy rice-shell tacos instead of pizza, a fun bubble tea instead of a cookie, a mochi treat instead of donuts, etc. He truly wanted all guests to enjoy the tour by asking and taking input from each person on their preferences! Even going back to the stall if something wasn't just right! And we had a diverse group! It was also kismit that our fellow tourists/locals were a fun bunch and rolled with whatever came our way! Snow delayed our start to the High Line tour, but we still saw the art, learned alot and had a nice, long walk to work off the huge lunch! It was such a fun time!

We thought Lara was good, though not excellent. She appeared disorganised, partly because some people were late and because at least one of the six food stops was closed. The story was not about history, but there was scant about the history of Chelsea Market, nor Pier 57. This was disappointing, but it did pick up on the High-Line. However, the High Line walk showed up quite a weakness. Chelsea Market was exceptionally busy and often it was difficult to hear what Lara was saying, buy on the High Line, after an interesting introduction Lara waked off chatting to the nearest person, but thest of the group heard nothing until Lara stopped and waited (although not always until the last person reched the group, through the throng of people coming towards us. We recognise that you may be a small company, but today’s best tours give every one of their guests an ear piece linked to the guide’s microphone, which are called (it seems universally, regardless of make) as Whispers. In this way, especially on a walk or when there are many other people around, they repay the extra cost brilliantly. Hope these points are helpful. Due to the relative negativity, you do not have to post this fedback, just heed it on behalf of all future guests.
