The basics

The museum’s permanent exhibition, the “Gallery of Young Poland’s Stained Glass Masters,” allows you to see beautifully preserved pieces of stained-glass work from the early 20th century. The artists whose masterpieces are showcased are Wojciech Jastrzębowski, Stefan Matejko, Józef Mehoffer, and Stanisław Wyspiański. Each piece of artwork has a story behind it, and all the artists have a special connection to Krakow as it’s where they trained and developed their skills. There are also regularly changing temporary exhibitions.

Things to know before you go

  • Visiting the museum is only possible with a guide.

  • There’s an on-site shop where you can find stained-glass souvenirs, such as pendants and lamps.

  • If you need to take a break, there’s a café in the museum that’s designed like a historical workshop, serving coffees, teas, soft drinks, and snacks. You’ll find interesting reading materials about stained glass in the café, too.
