The basics

Casa de Campo ranks among Madrid’s most popular green spaces, and it’s home to several attractions, including an amusement park, a zoo, and the repurposed Madrid Arena (formerly a bullring). The terrace of the restaurant at the Casa de Campo cable car station affords panoramic views over Madrid. Many electric bike tours and running tours of Madrid pass through the park, but if you’d like a closer look, opt for a private or small-group Segway tour focused on the park grounds. For a comprehensive overview of the Spanish capital, combine an e-bike tour with a ride on the cable car and a tapas tour around the San Miguel and La Cebada markets.

Madrid’s Best Parks

Visitors looking for a breath of fresh air have several parks and green spaces to choose from in Madrid. Stroll through the Royal Botanical Garden (Real Jardín Botánico) to see its collection of some 90,000 plants, or row a boat on a lake at Retiro Park (Parque de el Retiro). Oeste Park (Parque del Oeste) is known for its evergreen trees and English-inspired design, while Capricho Park (Parque de El Capricho)—another former royal retreat—boasts a mix of Greek, Italian, French, and English architectural features.
