Möt framför "Bite Me" sport fiskeaffär på Big Island Honokohau Harbor. Du fortsätter med båten på 46 fot (14 meter) till det marina levnadsreservatet Kealakekua Bay, också hem till den historiska markören för sjöfart Captain Cook. Under resan gör det att titta på utsikt över Big Islands havgrottor och vulkaniska lavaflöden.

Tillbringa de närmaste 45 minuterna av din resa och njut av snorkling mitt i områdets mix av levande rev. Beroende på var du går kan du se varelser som havssköldpaddor, koraller, tropiska fiskar och mycket mer. Under vintern har kullhvalar varit kända för att frekventa området också. När du väl är uppe på däck, kommer du också att lära dig om den historiska betydelsen av området, känt för sin anslutning till den brittiska explorer Captain Cook.

Dolphin Encounter

Denna aktivitet är ett måste för alla resor till Big Island. Vi kunde se flera pods av delfiner.

Min man, jag själv och ett annat par registrerade mig för denna utflykt. Endast 1 andra par stod för turnén så att det inte var avstängd eller omplanerat var fantastiskt! Vi kunde ganska mycket göra vad vi ville istället för att hålla oss till ett schema. Vi fick simma med två olika delfiner, och några av oss hoppade till och med för att se några hajar. Jag mår inte bra och de såg till att gå ut ur vägen för att ge mig en fantastisk upplevelse. De drog upp båten precis längs med delfinerna och jag kunde se dem som om jag var i vattnet med dem. Det var fantastiskt. Jag rekommenderar starkt denna turné!

Staff was amazing! We even seen whales. A core memory for the family for sure. One thing to note they do ask for tips at the end which we didn't bring money thinking all was included.

We were able to see 3 manta rays during the day which was rare. I also saw a moray eel hanging out w the reef . Sea turtles were also hanging out by the harbor when we pulled in.. would not recommend taking kids who don’t know how to swim though bc they only provide noodles and not life vests so my son was having hard time

Wish it was the trip we paid for

The crew was wonderful and they would have gotten full stars except They did not take us on the excursion we signed up to go on. They called us and asked us to move to an afternoon appointment. I inquired as to whether or not it was the same one. They said yes everything would be the same except possibly the location of snorkeling. We did not see or swim with dolphins. We specifically signed up for that one so my husband could enjoy snorkeling and I could enjoy dolphins as that's the two things we both wanted to do. for reference Here's the description of what we signed up for........... .Snorkel among some of the 600+ species of marine that call Kealakekua Bay home Learn about Kealakekua Bay's connection with British explorer Captain Cook Jump in the water with a pod of wild spinner dolphins on an optional swimming experience Great way to get an in-depth look at Hawaii's amazing marine life. Instead, we had two snorkeling stops, neither one of which had anything to do with the history of Captain Cook and the island. It was strictly snorkeling . I was very sad that we did not do the trip we paid to do.

Excited and high expectations. The reefs were not nearly as populated or colorful as I was hoping for, but the experience was fun. The crew was amazing. Maddie and Josh were very informative, Alan was a very friendly captain, and Connor was just “hot!” Possibly some misrepresentation in the description of this excursion. Dolphins-no, snacks/drinks-minimal, beauty of the reef-not what I was anticipating. Memorable experience-absolutely!

We really enjoyed this trip! The crew were helpful and knowledgeable. We saw turtles, a reef shark, countless spinner dolphins, moray eels, and thousands of fish! Our family group of ten all had a wonderful morning on the water!

Misinformation but still fun

Overall the day was fun and crew were nice but I think they misinform you on what the tour entails. I confirmed with the operator about seeing and swimming with dolphins but this did not occur on the tour we were on. Also they state they will take you snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay however we did not go to the bay and went elsewhere instead. The other snorkeling spots were alright however I snorkeled at Kealakekua Bay a different tour and that had much better snorkeling and animal sightings. Just want everyone to know about the inconsistencies with the description of the tour and what actually it entails

Well run excursion with great guides and very competent captain. The captain and crew gave us 3 great snorkeling spots to enjoy, and helped us identify what we were seeing. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Should’ve stayed home

Nothing burger Less than 24 hours before the trip they changed our time then a big group was 25 minutes late so we left late and then we came back early. It was supposed to be a four hour trip. We were supposed to do two stops, but due to the swimming ability of the big group a couple of families that were late we only went to one spot that’s not my problem

The crew. The captain and mate were very personable and adapted the trip based on weather conditions and sea swell. The advertisement on Viator was for Morning Reef Snorkel and Dolphins at Capital Cook however we never left Kona due to weather conditions which was disappointing.
