I love the tour. The narrator told many stories and was great with directions. I learned a lot about the big island of Hawaii. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the island. I feel that the value was well worth it. I didn’t have any problems with connecting to car’s Bluetooth.

Big Success for the Big Island!

This was an excellent product to use driving around the Big Island of Hawaii. The narrator had great insights into the areas, the app itself was easy to use and the GPS functionality was spot on. The narrator advised of great stopping points and pointed out hard to find turnoffs and directions and gave great history lessons in areas were there were no actual attractions to see. We will definitely use this again on our next vacation to a new place. Bravo!

We loved the tour. We couldn’t get the best of it because it too fo long to figure out the problem with how to install and activate the product so we were 2 hours late with starting so we couldn’t really stop anywhere except volcano park and 1 place he recommended to eat. The food was terrible but adventure was awesome. Recommend starting no later than 10am:)

It looks as though you purchased this audio tour through Viator (rather than direct through the GuideAlong app or website) but the setup only takes around a minute following the instructions that are sent out by text and email at the time of booking with Viator. Our support team is just a call, email or online chat away if you ever require assistance with an audio tour, we can usually answer any questions and solve any troubleshooting in just a few minutes. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the commentary through Volcanoes National Park, and hope you get the chance to enjoy the rest of the commentary on another day on your trip, or on a future visit to the Big Island - our audio tour never expires and even includes future content updates!

Guided tour of Hawaii big island.

Easy to use just connect to the radio. I was hesitant to use this system but the narrator guided us where we wanted to go and he also recommended sites that we might wanted to see. One the way back to our starting point he educated us on the history of Hawai’i. We wanted to see the black sand beach and the volcano park.

We loved using guide along for our trip around the island. We did the coffee coast tour and the volcano tour and found them super informative and helpful. It was very helpful to have your instructions as well as info on places to stop. We loved the recommendations. Our only point of improvement would be to have a system that knows which points you’ve already listened to if having to go back over the same route.

Waste of money

What a waste of money. We purchased this with expectations that it would help us with guided tours on our dream vacation to Hawaii (3 islands). For over 6 months I received numerous emails (almost daily) from them trying to sell me additional tours. When we arrived at each island and attempted to use the tour we purchased and downloaded the Viator app for, we could not find our tour. We clicked on bookings, profile and everything else we could and still only found we had 'credits' but no tour without buying something else new. This was a huge disappointment and waste of our money.

Hi Lori, I think you might have us mixed up with Viator (online travel agent). We don't send daily emails, and in order to use our audio tours you download and use our mobile app (GuideAlong) not Viator - as per our instructions sent via email and text/sms. Our support team would have been happy to assist you at any time in the past 6 months, or while you were in Hawaii, but we have not heard from you.

Great App for Limited Time on Big Island

I purchased this self-guided tour for my family and I to use while touring the Big Island over several days. While we had a few other activities planned, we wanted something that would be easy to utilize but helpful with doing a "Circle Island" drive. The Audio tour provided a lot of rich content (delivered by a friendly sounding narrator) with possible points of interest along the way as well as other facts and tidbits about the history of the Big Island and Hawaii as a whole. One of my favorite features is that when going back through a road we had already crossed through, the narrator provided all new content. Since the tour never expires, we look forward to using it again on a future trip to the Big Island.

What a perfect app to help tourists navigate. Very cheap cost wise but super informative. As a family, we looked forward to what information was going to come next. The app was spot on wherever we were and gave great historical info in between the highlights. The app even advised when the ability to find food and drink would be limited. We used the app to navigate The Big Island in Hawaii. We really enjoyed going at our own pace. There are apps for other states. Highly recommend.

Hi Jill, Thanks for taking time to let us know how much you enjoyed our audio tour and learning about the local history. You're right, while the tour can be started from Kona, Kohala or Hilo (or joined from anywhere along the route) our tour is structured to suit the majority of visitors that stay on the Kona side. As Hilo is so much closer to Volcanoes National Park the commentary on this segment is shorter, or you can drive north from Hilo around the Hamakua Coast for the full experience like the other direction. For the majority (95% or so) of visitors that stay on the Kona side, the drive to and from Volcanoes National Park is where we spend most of the time sharing stories (different in each direction!) to break up this longer drive, as there's only a couple of places along the way to stop for. We're glad to hear that you found the audio tour of great value, and hope that you'll continue to enjoy the commentary for many years to come, no matter where you choose to stay on the island.
