Don’t even go to Olympia without the virtual tour! The technology is amazing and extremely easy to use. Without the virtual tour you will just be visiting the remains of the site. This tour brings the original Olympic Games back to life right in front of your eyes. Simultaneously the audio guide gives you the story behind what you are looking at. This is the only way to visit Olympia!

Kept our children engaged when we visited Olympia. Even our 6 year old enjoyed using his VR goggles to view the sites. Staff was friendly and helpful!

Essential and amazing — don’t hesitate!

These made the visit to Olympia archaeological site amazing! I wasn’t sure how it would work, or if picking them up would be a hassle. It was super easy! We went with our parents in their late 70s and even they used them well. It changes how you understand what you are seeing so dramatically — I wish they had these for all sites!!! The glasses come with an audio component and a site map programmed into the tool. The glasses give you audio directions by using gps technology while you walk around the site. Can’t recommend these enough!!

The experience is sooooo much better with the virtual reality tour. If you’re on the fence just do it. I wasn’t sure I would like it but now I wish every ruin we visited had such a value able tool. It helps you to understand much better what you are looking at and the size of the place.

The video and audio content is great. I needed but did not have a paper map to help me navigate. Finally, and a big problem for me, was the long walk to vendor from the bus stop. That extra walking precluded going to the museum.

Dear Jasper We used to give a paper map in the begining but later, after feedback from our visitors, we replaced it with a virtual map that is even better. Just by looking down you can see where is your current location and where is every monument so we can't understand why you needed a paper map when you have a better and easier navigation system. The walking distance from the busses parking lot to our office is just 5 minutes so we don't think that this is a a "long walk" except if you made a mistake and you arrived from another way which was longer. Thank you for your review and for the visitors that are coming by bus to Olympia we have a small tip: Stop at the bus station by the church which is the exact location of our office, that way you don't need to walk at all to find us...

Could not find the guide. Directions terrible. Guide finally called us 1/2 hr late and said it was our fault. Whole day ruined

Mr James katz you are the most uncooperative person of all our visitors so far. You had a reservation on Aug 20th at 10:30 and we called you at 10:50 to ask you if everything is ok because you were late. You were only saying that nobody knows where we are. We don't know who you asked but your reservation clearly states that we are across from the main church of Olympia and you can also find us using google maps if you write "Olympia back in time". You went directly to the Arch Site and you demanded to meet you there, you didn't care about reading any directions from you reservation and when we tried to help you find us by phone you were not willing to listen to us and you were just conplaining. Even if you mistakenly went in another location we can't understand why you didn't want to find us. Please be more careful with your reservations in the future and be more polite to people that are polite to you...

Brings everything to life

This was an excellent way to see Olympia and it was great value for money. The glasses really brought everything to life. I particularly enjoyed seeing the athletes running on the track with the crowds cheering them on - without the VR glasses it is basically just a field, but with the VR glasses you could really imagine what the atmosphere would have been like. The VR shop was easy to locate - maybe take a look on google maps when you book so you know where you are going when you get there - it is close to the big church. (I think when I looked on google maps it was an old version so you might not be able to see the shop sign writing but the shop front which google takes you to is the correct one. In the real world it is clearly marked with all the VR company's name, so you can't miss it). The staff were great - they made sure you had a trial run before you left the shop and knew what you were doing. You have to leave some photo ID at the shop when you take the VR glasses - so I would recommend taking your drivers licence with you. Nothing to do with the VR company, but just a note - we didn't think it was particularly well signposted from the main street to the ruins, so again it would be useful to check google maps so you know where you are going so you make the most of your time there (we booked transfers with the cruise company but there were delays when someone got on the wrong bus which unfortunately ate into our free time so we felt a bit rushed). All in all we were very impressed with this tour - we wished there were similar VR glasses available when we were in Italy and visited the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Pompeii.

Only Way to See & Appreciate the Ruins

Achilles was our operator and gave a great demo of how to use glasses and what to expect to see when we walked around. Be advised this isn’t a guided tour and you’ll be on your own, but it’s not hard to do and plenty of time to do it (three hours). You’ll also need to purchase tix to get into the site, but it’s right outside the gate and only a couple euros. Having the ability to see what the ruins looked like and the reenactments, while also listening to the history of each place, made you truly appreciate everything around you. Definitely glad we did it!

We rented 16 of these and our group loved them. We could go at our own pace and see most of the site. Achilles was very nice and did a fantastic job at communicating and even suggested a great restaurant for my birthday lunch. One of our glasses didn’t work and he arrived within minutes by scooter to remedy the situation. I’d recommend this especially for family’s with older kids.

The VR tour was very helpful to imagine the Olympic site. It was a little difficult to figure out where to go but once we did it worked perfectly. The staff in the office were very kind, friendly and the gentleman gave us a great tip to have lunch in the old town section of Kiparissia on our way to Nafplio.

Totally recommend it. The gps was a little off so you would look through the glasses to watch and see the offerings but be facing away from the sites. Felt a little funny but VERY worth it!

This was such a cool way to see ancient Olympia! It made the site that much better. It was really neat to be able to see in real time what the area may have looked like, and to get all the stories about it at the same time. Highly recommend this if you are traveling to see the ruins!!

YOU MUST DO THIS. It brought the whole of Olympia to life and was amazing. The staff were amazing and I would do it again. We had ppl stop and asked about the VR. We let them try it in the park and they were equally amazed. If you want to enhance your experience, you must rent these!
