Beware of the van configuration. While the operator boosts of small group/personized experiance. This is not necessarily the case. While an 8 passenger Mercedes sounds great, it was NOT. First, we had to climb over a jump seat to reach our seats...the rear row of three. The left window seat was already occupied, leaving the middle an right window seats for my wife and myself. Fro the middle seat it's virtually impossible to see anything but the seat-back and headrest in front of you!!!
My wife has a VERY bad/sore back (that's why we selected a "small/personized" tour. Don't be fooled by the word "Mercedes"... we found the seats extremely hard and rough riding in a city full of speed bumps every 100 meters or so.
Sorry, the ride was so painful that we had to "bail" at the first opportunity and take a cab back to the ship. There was nothing enjoyable nor comfortable about this 8 passenger van.
The tour operator was helpful in calling a taxi,,, and indeed wanted to switch us to "a better seat"... but we declined. The van was completely full and switching would simply mean some else would have to give up their rightful seat for a very bad experiance.
OH...and this operator was LATE for pick up. Which left their customers waiting on the dock in the hot sunshine. Seems everyone made an effort to be at the designated spot well ahead of time EXCEPT the operator.

There are no jump seats in the Mercedes Vito or "better seats" only comfortable Mercedes quality seating. We specifically only use MERCEDES because legroom and seat size is the same regardless of where you sit in the 9 seater
There are not speed bumps every "100ms or so" in Papeete
Your wife was ill and had no medication with her - we called her a taxi back to your cruise ship because of that.
We suggest that you advise tour operators of your size, mobility and back and pain issues in future, so they can make appropriate decisions regarding your suitability for the tour.
Best to head to one of the hotels for a calm pickup experience. The chaos of hundreds of cruise ship passengers, tour suppliers, buses and taxis on the hot tarmac of the dock, unsatisfactory.

We really enjoyed our east coast tour of Tahiti, knowledgeable guide who was friendly and fun.
I had been to Tahiti many (50!!) years ago and had happy memories - the tour did not disappoint.

We had a tour of the east coast of Tahiti. It was pouring down rain when we started but the tour was outstanding anyway. The weather cleared within the hour. Sunday brought us to a Tahitian church service, a wood carvers house, giant eels, the blow hole and a magnificent waterfall amongst many other sites. A truly remarkable 1/2 day! Our guide Tracy was awesome. Just be aware that Sundays are savcred and family times so everything is closed.

We had a great time on tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about Tahiti and its customs and people. Just wish part of our time wasn't used up by picking up and dropping off other passengers. Still give it a 100%!

So pleased you had a great time, loved your company and we also enjoyed ourselves!
On our join a group tours we pick up in the direction the tours are heading, so spend as little time as possible doing that but understand that can be fustrating if you are picked up first. One of the reasons we only pick up from the key hotels is to centralise the pick up spots
Hope to meet you again to visit the other side of the island next time you are on Tahiti !!

We really enjoyed our half-day tour of Tahiti's East Coast with Jacky - she of course took us to visit the main sites like Point Venus, blowhole, waterfall, etc. But the best part were all the stories along the way - of the people, the culture, and the history. You could tell she had a deep love for this place. And who doesn't love snacking on some delicious rambutan along the way - just not in Jacky's car!

We got to see where the trash Tahitians live and play. It was great to go off the usual tourist locations.

Friendly, knowledgeable guide and driver Dominic. Convenient and comfortable tour, with only 6 guests, affording personal contact and communication. A varied itinerary giving a quick and interesting insight into Tahitian history and culture.
