Hi Stacy, thank you for your valuable feedback. It's important for people to know this tour is for 1st timers to Paris, and the first thing we do is get sorted with public transportation then comes the sightseeing.
You were not a first timer to Paris, in fact you had already been to the Sacré-Cœur and all over Montmartre before but insisted we return there, the most touristy area of Paris.
However, your family is wonderful, and we did indeed have fun, we managed, we learned, and even the wandering was excellent as we explored by walking through Passage Jouffroy and Passage Verdeau these 2 quintessential ancient 1800's covered passages filled with boutiques, shops & cafes.
Which led us to the beginning of the most famous street in Paris, Rue des Martyrs. We walked that because that street enters Montmartre. We probably saw 100 boutiques and shops in 30 minutes.
We rode the funicular, another fun experience, to the top next to the Sacré-Cœur.
And after requesting to see the Sacré-Cœur at the start of the tour, you didn't go inside it. I suggested we visit the other hidden gem of a 800 year old church, Saint-Pierre, around the corner which we did, it's a very nice experience.
We did walk though the Place du Tertre, another touristy area but most people want to see the artists.
We did even more things on our way back down, passing by Pablo Picasso art studio, the famous Rue Lepic, Café 2 Moulins, Moulin Rouge, more metro riding, and we even managed to swing through the Galeries Lafayette and see the dome. And brought you back to your front steps.
All in all, I think we did fairly good considering the hiccup and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your family holiday.
So for others considering my 1st time to Paris, yes my mantra is that the journey is more important than the destination where we learn local customs, we look in shop windows, we walk ancient streets, we ride public transportation, and we do sightseeing along the way. Ok, Thor
