Our guide Alejandra was wonderful! She had a great knowledge of the history of Toledo. Having a local guide really helps to give insight into the day-to-day life as well. Alejandra was easy to talk with and we enjoyed her sense of humor and warmth. Highly recommend!

Toledo history tour

Alejandro was a great and personable guide. He met us at the train station and we took a cab into the city. You stop on the way in for a breathtaking view. He then walks you through the city, discussing daily life and history. You get to see two archeological sites not open to the general public. There are several times along the way you can stop to purchase something if you like, but no real pressure to do so. You end the tour in the main square and can wander around at your leisure afterwards.

Alejandra was an amazing tour guide! Extremely knowledgeable and fun personality. She was an instant friend and she showed us everything we wanted to see and more. She definitely knew the paths to take that kept us out of the main tourist areas so it felt private. We highly recommend this tour in Toledo!

He was really passionate about his city and transmitted that at every turn of our walking tour. The time went by really fast because we were having a great time. Truly recommend this tour!! Alejandro was great! He showed up promptly on time and was very friendly. The tour itself was amazing. We got to walk around Toledo away from the main crowds and learn about the history of Spain, Toledo, and archaeology. He recommended a great place for lunch - and handled making the reservation for us - and made himself available if we had questions on the rest of our trip. He could tell that my husband and I were nerds and leaned heavily into history and facts which we really appreciated. Highly recommended - one of our favorite tours we've done!

Do not hesitate, do this experience. We had the pleasure of traveling back in time in the wonderful city of Toledo with archeologists who know their city and will take you places within the city that no other tours will go. This was by far the best tour of our trip to Spain.

Fabulous tour. The usual sites but also a dig of a Jewish ruin under a house. Our archaeologist guide had worked on the dig. Lots of extra history.

Alejandro really made this special for my wife and I. The tour went longer than scheduled as he didn’t seem to care about time nor did we. He provided a wonderful perspective of his city from a resident’s standpoint as well as from the tourist’ point of view. We even stopped for a beer and tapas and he sent us to a wonderful spot for lunch. A truly special time in Toledo put this on your list!

We had an amazing time! Alejandro was an excellent guide--friendly, interesting, knowledgeable, a great teacher, and wonderful with adults and kids alike. As both a native Toledano who grew up in the historical center and a local archaeologist, he showed us some fascinating sights not generally open to the public, as well as the highlights of any trip to the city. He went above and beyond, and we cannot recommend his tour highly enough. Our kids (9, 12, and 14) also give him rave reviews!

Where to begin? This tour surpassed our expectations! The guide - Alejandro/Alex - brought the city to life and provided deep historical background. We were treated to an unexpected visit to an archeological discovery beneath the city surface! Alex took great pains to understand what we had already visited in Toledo and to tailor our tour to our interests! This is NOT a canned tour!

Alejandro provided us with an incredible experience. Walking the narrow streets while hearing the history of Toledo was fascinating. He didn't just take us to "the usual spots", instead brought things to life as we walked. His historical knowledge is vast and his ability to translate archeological findings into real life made this extremely special. Also, incredible value as opposed to paying for a large group tour.

I would have rated this tour to whatever highest number that they would have... 6, 7, 10! It has been the best tour ever we had in Spain! We were already in love with Toledo when 7 years ago we came here on a day trip from Madrid. However, Alejandro made our love way deeper with what we saw and learned during this tour. Alejandro was at meeting point earlier than schedule and he was very welcoming and friendly. He was The Best Tour Guide we ever had in any of our tours in Europe. Not only he was very knowledgeable about Toledo and its history (Daaa!!! He was born and raised in Toledo), but also, thanks to his Archaeology degree, he was very rich and expert about every corner of the town as well as history. He single handedly made this tour extremely enjoyable for my wife and myself. Alejandro went above and beyond in this tour not only covering what he needed to cover for the tour agenda, but also he shared lots of good local places and hints for the remainder of our stay in Toledo. His story telling skills combined with his rich expertise and knowledge made the tour even so much fun for my wife whom usually is not into history and ancient places. If you are in Toledo, this is a Must, I mean it! The fact that he spent 3+ hours only with us with no distraction or waste, was absolutely pleasant for us in addition to skipping the line and buying tickets with discount. Of course there are number of small or big size group tours available for any budget and preferences, but, if you are a couple, I would strongly recommend to go for this private tour with Alejandro as it's worth it 110%. Indeed, the learning, fun, and joy out of this tour with Alejandro would surely outweigh its price. Thank You Alejandro !!!

Interesting and Thoughtful History of Toledo

What an excellent way to spend a day in Toledo! Our group of three, including my 6 year old son, booked this tour with Enrique for our day trip to Toledo. We loved the experience that Enrique shared with us. We found it very helpful that he met us at the train station and then took us into the city with stops at several scenic views along the way. The information he provided was interesting and informative. We loved the perspective he was able to provide as a local and truly appreciated his willingness to move at our pace in ways that kept my son interested throughout the tour while still making sure that we learned as much about the city's history as possible. I highly recommend this tour with Enrique.
