Great walk and virtual tour
Sue_B, Apr 2024
Fernando was an excellent guide. He knew his Ann Frank and Jewish history. The virtual reality experience was very fun, and gave us a good view of the house.
Best ever!
Ann_D, Apr 2024
Kade, the tour guide, was absolutely fantastic! I was in Amsterdam for 6 days & had 3!tours. The other experiences were terrible because of the guide. Kase was extremely knowledgeable, and a great communicator. Only negative part was the rain.
So good!!
Deborah_S, Apr 2024
Our tour guide Kees was awesome- he gave us a lot of great information as we walked through Amsterdam and the VR of the Anne Frank house is not to be missed!!
Relaxed, engaging and informative
Toby_F, Apr 2024
The walking tour was really informative, our guide engaging and ensured we could all follow the narrative. The VR experience was great, much better than the constant queue of people at other historical landmarks. Sadly we had to sit outside the cafe for this as the host told our guide she had no booking (despite the tour finishing there twice a day every day with the VR headsets kept there); he was rude to her and to us. Tour company take note!
Excellent & very...

Plan B to Anne Frank Huis!
Shahana_K, Apr 2024
Great tour and would highly recommend to all people of all ages. Carolina our guide was very knowledgeable and took great care in managing information with kids in the tour too.
Great learning experience
Rey_A, Apr 2024
Our guide Kees was well spoken, knowledgeable and organized. He shared a personal story with us. Highly recommended!!
Turned Out Quite Well
Carolyn_W, Apr 2024
Several days before our tour, we rebooked from a group tour to a private tour due to a scheduling conflict. Unfortunately, that somehow led to a miscommunication between Viator and the tour operator, and there was no guide to meet us at the meeting point. Had the story ended there, this wouldn’t have been a good review, but we messaged the tour operator through the Viator app, and Kathrine immediately called us and arranged to meet us at the cafe and do the virtual reality portion of the tour, as well as providing a partial refund. Really glad she was able to do so, as the VR tour was fascinating, and Kathrine sat patiently to answer our many questions and share her extensive knowledge. It was a great save of an unfortunate situation, and based on the VR portion of the tour, I would definitely recommend this tour to others.
Unfair request from the local tour company
Mi_K, Apr 2024
Due to the late taxi pick up, we (my self with 2kids) were late to be at the meeting point. I started chatting with customer service team to find out whether I could join later tour. Viator advised me to contact local trip organisor -Amsterdam Experiences BV Registered address: Prinsengracht 669 1017JT Amsterdam, VAT registration number : NL864648583B01 I called and Catherine (?) said that I could not join as I was late, I tried to explain that I wanted to join later stops / points to wait for tour team, she did not explain and kept saying I could not join and could join the last place where the VR experienced took place by 11:10 (tour started at 10am, normally 11:30-40pm to go to Cafe). I thought by 11:10 could be earlier, but I soon realised why I was told to be there by 11:10 to join- when I went there with kids (6&11 years old), the Managing director, Stephanvan der Meer came to me and said to me that I could not join the VR experience would soon take a place and leave the venue as he told me he is the owner of the local tour company. I asked him why ? and he said that I was rude to his employee. I said I complain to Viator about her the way of handling my call - she hung up on me and did not allow me to ask questions. So I asked him to check the call record. He kept insisting for me and my kids to leave, and I requested the refund then we will leave( obviously my 6 years old boy wanted to experienced VR) - I was unhappy that we could not join the walking tour at all despite I contacted before 10am to get some support on joining the walking tour later stage but no complain as I was late. But I could not accept the request from Stephanvan without refund to leave. He said as I paid to Viator I need to get refund from Viator. (When I contacted for the complain, aviator told me to deal with local organiser.) when I informed the consumer act, he said Fxxk Ux x 2,3 times. I asked my kids to go down stairs (we were upstairs) and asked to call the police to talk about this matter, as he lost his mind, I could not communicate with him. I tried to call the police but the call did not go through from my foreign mobile phone. He kept on and on to leave with improper languages with refusing the refund. I asked the person in the venue to help to call the police for Stephanvan’s insane behaviour to me and my kids, and he helped us to stay ( I would have walked away if I was without kids who were so eager to join this tour). I pretended nothing happened (my heart was bitting and my hands were shaking) during the VR experience for kids and other tourists. As soon as the session finished I went to downstairs to report Stephanvan to police bit he was not there any more. The experience I had was the most terrible and horrible experience I had in my life. Since I am back to work in my country, I did not have a chance to go through the legal advice on this but I received the review link from Viator. I don’t want anyone to have the same experience I had with my kids, I want to share my experience. The tour could not join was my fault as I was late - could be late around 10-15mins, but the way they handle the customer’s support was terrible and the owner, Stephanvan ‘s behaviour was very disrespectful in every areas of the communication especially in front of kids. I decided not to waste my time on this matter any more as it was ruined my e tote day, but I will revisit definitely to rectify Stephanvan‘s behaviour in front of my kids.
The other way of seeing Anne Frank's house
Kathie_K, Apr 2024
Wish I could have at least taken a picture of the hiding place in person, but otherwise it was very good. Also would have liked to tip our guide but had no change. She was very good.
Anne Frank’s last walk and VR house tour
Jennifer_B, Apr 2024
Our guide Carolina was very knowledgeable about the history surrounding Anne Frank and the Netherlands during this time. We liked the walk through the neighborhoods. The virtual reality tour of her hiding place was very interesting!
Great Tour
barb_d, Apr 2024
This was a good tour. I enjoyed the detail historical information provided. The virtual tour of the house was also nice.
Anne Frank Excellent Virtual Tour
Walter_J, Apr 2024
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the story and history. The virtual reality tour exceeded all our expectations. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
Excellent Tour!
ThomasK_B, Apr 2024
We would highly recommend this tour for anyone coming to Amsterdam! Although we tried to get tickets to the Ann Frank house they were unavailable. This tour, however, was an excellent option and it provided us with the background of Ann Frank’s life and that of her family! Guida (may not be spelled correctly!) was our tour guide as we walked along the path that Ann Frank took to go into hiding. Guida was very informative and gave us a lot of details about the Jewish population of Amsterdam as well as the details of Ann’s tragically short life! Guida was very knowledgeable and very respecting of everything that Ann and her family endured! The tour ended up at a cafe near the Ann Frank house and there we enjoyed a drink and took a virtual reality tour of the Ann Frank house. The VR tour was an excellent replacement for the actual tour as it was very realistic and interactive. I would recommend this tour highly!
Amazing alternative to the original experience
Melissa_G, Mar 2024
Really lovely tour, the guide was very good informing of Anne Franks and Amsterdam’s history during the time. Our 10 and 12 year olds’ attention was kept and the walk was a nice way to engage us all. Of course a heavy topic but very informative and nice to “see” the house in a realistic way. I’ve done the original house tour a couple times in the past, but really think this is an amazing alternative. Well done!
Excellent
Anne_H, Mar 2024
Excellent guide who was very knowledgable and explained everything in a very interesting way. We were too late to book visit to Anne Franks house but this was an excellent alternative and the virtual tour of the house was brilliant as we really felt we were inside the house as it was
Educational and enjoyable experience
Amy_P, Feb 2024
Our guide Gus was lovely, full of knowledge and positive energy. Was a very intersting tour and really enjoyed the VR experience.
Highlight of your trip with Anna!
Maggie_S, Nov 2023
Hands down the favorite part of our trip. So happy we decided to book this tour. Anna was incredible. She is a very knowledgeable, kind and personable woman with such detailed insights of anne franks life and important tidbits of the jewish people’s history in amsterdam. The VR was lovely, even though we didnt have a ton of time to enjoy it because we had to catch our flight. Appreciate your time and efforts with us, definitely recommend!

Thank you for your kind words. We are always there for you. Please, come some other time
Amazing tour when you can’t get tickets into Anne Frank house(probably better)
Diane_M, Nov 2023
Guido was AMAZING-we all believe that this was such an informative tour and he was just so wonderful and easy to listen to. Will totally recommend to my friends
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Thank you for this review. We believe that the VR-experience is a great alternative if you can't get tickets to the actual museum. In fact, it has a many benefits as you get to see the secret annex exactly how it looked back then with all the furniture and personal items.
Great guide and VR tour was really good.
Linda_H, Oct 2023
Enjoyed the walking element of the tour. Our guide Guido was great, a local and knew his stuff. Learned lots on the walk. VR bit was great - I wish we'd had time to stay and watch the whole VR story section as well as the VR tour. Great coffee at spanjer & van twist too included in the tour. So glad we found this tour as we hadn't realised pre booking is now required for the Anne Frank Huis and we missed out on tickets as they were sold out by the time we looked!
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Thank you so much! We really appreciate your review. We'll be happy if you join our other tours like the Canal Cruise or the City highlights ones.
