What To Expect

Acropolis Walking Tour: Meet your guide near Syntagma Square, and see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Greek Parliament, where the Changing of the Guard ceremony takes place.

Next, stretch your legs around the National Gardens, and admire sights like Zappeion Congress Hall, Hadrian's Arch and the Temple of Olympian Zeus.

Continue through the paved streets of Plaka—the heart of Athens’ Old Town—and then follow the pedestrianized Dionyssiou Areopagitou walkway up to the UNESCO-listed Acropolis.

At the top, enter (own expense) this magnificent complex of sun-baked temples and take a guided tour of its star attractions. Stroll around the Temple of Athena Nike and the Propylaea, the Acropolis’ gateway, as you learn about their history; and marvel at the centerpiece: the Parthenon.

Having explored the main monuments, your tour finishes at the Acropolis. Say goodbye to your guide and enjoy leisure time before the start of your afternoon trip.

Afternoon Cape Sounion and Temple of Poseidon Trip: In the afternoon, reconvene with your coach and leave Athens behind as you venture south to Cape Sounion. Along the way, admire the picturesque beaches of the Saronic Gulf and hear stories of the Cape, the rocky promontory at the tip of the Attica peninsula, and its famous, ancient Temple of Poseidon.

On arrival, walk up to the temple, built high on cliffs overlooking the Aegean Sea. Take in the phenomenal sea views and if the weather is clear, cast your eyes over the island of Kea in the distance. Admire the Doric columns of the 5th-century BC temple, and discover the Greek myths that surround the building. Be sure, too, to check out the inscription carved by the English poet Lord Byron on one of the columns in the early 1800s. Afterward, return to Athens where your tour concludes at your hotel or the closest point to your accommodation.

2h walking around other places and only 15-30 min walking inside the Acropolis... a waste of money Oh! And it's not a usual half day trip: the walk around the city happens from 9.30h to 12.30h and the othwe visit is from 15.00h to 19.00

Dear client, You had booked a super saver package including 2 tours, the walking tour of Athens with Acropolis visit. The walking tour includes walking to Parliement house, to National Garden, To Olympian Temple of Zeus, to Aeropagitou (pedestrian street to Acropolis) , Entrance to Acropolis with your guide and ends at the Acropolis at 12:45. Upon your arrival at Amalia hotel you informed us that you are Spanish speaking in an English tour and in order to avoid any misunderstangins we wrote you on the map the time schedule. So the guide follow our advertised itinerary which is not Acropolis only. Then you had to continue which was Bus guided tour to Cape Sounio (4 hours) where you were NON SHOW. We really don't understanding why you rate a tour with one star without participating ? Plus your guide Ioanna she is Official English speaking Archaeologist and you rate her guided tour not recommended. Thank you Hara Kritikidou Customer Service Manager

Our guide was excellent and provided a very interesting history. However, the walking tour was supposed to depart at 9:30 and didn’t leave until 9:50. By the time we got to the Acropolis it was hot and the crowds were HUGE, due in part to all the masses of lemmings ascending from several cruise ships. Especially in the summer months, this tour should leave no later than 0830 to avoid the worst of the crowds and heat- that would allow a much more enjoyable experience 😎

This walking tour was really good. Our guide was so knowledgeable on the history and we learned so much. Loved visiting the Parthenon, it is pretty amazing. The 2nd half of our tour was a bus tour to Cape Saunion and the Temple of Poisedon. The bus ride was along the coast and it was beautiful. Overall it was a very nice excursion and I am gad I did it with a tour group.

Had a great time. Our guide was very knowledgeable!! Loved it and had a wonderful experience. Wear comfortable shoes since there is lot of walking.
walking city tour was not so interesting and be done on your own and Poseidon was a nice place to visit

Excellent. We were unable to make the morning tour, but caught up with the tour in the afternoon. It was excellent!!! The Temple of Poseidon is a hidden treasure and gets you outside of the city! Highly recommend!

The morning walking tour with our Guide Dora was excellent! She was outstanding! It was like being transported back in time! She was very knowledgeable of the history and all the way to the Acropolis, her stories were extremely interesting! The afternoon tour to Cape Sounion with good! The views from the Temple of Poseidon are breathtaking! I highly recommend this tour!

An outstanding experience! Be prepared for lots of walking and strenuous hiking on narrow walkways and slippery marble. Go anytime other than the summer as it becomes very crowded then. Carry water with you! It was remarkable to see the Acropolis lit up at night! It was a remarkable experience! I think they should sell t-shirts saying, “I climbed the Acropolis”!!!

We had an excellent walking tour of many beautiful places in Athens with Eleni. She kept a good pace that wasn't too fast and kept us informed of the sights as we went along. There was ample time for photo taking along the way. At the Acropolis we were given the tour and the history before being given time to ourselves to further explore and take pictures. The afternoon trip to Cape Sounion was very scenic and the Temple of Poseidon was breathtaking to behold. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

Giota our guide to the Acropolis and walking tour was great. She engaged with everyone and even with the young children. Her knowledge of Athens and Greek history kept us enthralled and she even gave us bits of Grecian gossip along the way. She obviously enjoys her job. We would highly recommend this tour, it is worth the price. However we were not impressed with the second tour, the guide to Cape Sounion was so boring that several people fell asleep during her commentary. And the Temple was just another Temple. We gave a very good score because of the Acropolis walking tour.

Both the Acropolis Walking Tour + afternoon tour to Cape Sounion were perfectly organized, the guide was very friendly and competent to answer any questions of the participants. She gave comprehensive information on both tours.
Trip to Cape Sunion - WASTE OF TIME!!!

1st part: Our walking tour was replaced with the bus tour due to the weather... We were offered to prepay €10 per person for the tickets to the Acropolis and €15 per person for the museum... We did. Well, the Acropolis entrance did cost €10 per person, however museum was only €4... And we did not spend much time there - we just kind of ran through and was not given the opportunity to explore on our own. Tour guide was nice and knowledgeable. When we got back to the tour provider I asked why we were charged almost 4 times more for the tickets and the reply was to cover tour guide time (?!)... Also we completely missed the guard change ceremony and were told to go and see it ourself... No water were provided on the tour (just an FYI)... And after this part of the tour we were told to go and find something to eat and be back in 50 minute for the second part of the tour...2nd part: Trip to the Cape Sunion:When we got back to the tour operator we boarded the bus and a different tour guide joined us. It took us around 1.5 hours to get there. And maybe 30 (?!) minutes there... as there are not much to see in that location: small historical side with the ruins of one building and 10 minutes of comments from the tour guide and a few pictures and nice view on the sea and... nothing else. We definitely expected MUCH MORE! Spending 3 hours in the bus in order to see almost nothing for 30 minutes in my opinion is complete waist. I should have done a better research... Oh, well. They should call this a "Half Day Napping Tour" because we spent more time napping on the bus than learning or seeing anything. We were definitely disappointed.
