The visit to the synagogue and Jewish museum. The guide was informative and gracious. Was able to drop us off close the sites.

Jewish tour of Athens, not worth the money

We asked for a Jewish tour and were taken to the Jewish museum and dropped off to fend for ourselves. We thought we were to see the synagogue, but were told they were also closed. We were dropped off to walk by them and the holocaust memorial. Very disappointing would not recommend.

Dear David_N, Thank you for your review! First of all I would like to inform you that you have your driver's John best regards. We are all very surprised for your disappointment! Let’s take the situation step by step: 1. You gave us meeting time at 08:30 am at Piraeus port (synagogue is open). 2. You met John at 11:30am -pick up time changed last minute- (synagogue is closed). 3. Since you met John, he informed you that the two synagogues are closed at this time of the day and that the Jewish museum closes at 02:00PM. 4. John proposed you to visit first the museum in order to have enough time to enjoy it and after your visit to the Jewish museum to see from the outside the new one, and the old synagogue as well as the holocaust memorial. 5. John did take you to synagogues , parked the car, came with you and talked to the guard of the synagogue trying to see if there could be a possibility to open the synagogue for you but without success . After that, your driver pointed the memorial of the holocaust to you just 15 meters away from that point . 6. It is very clearly written in viator that drivers are NOT official licensed tour guides and can NOT ESCORT YOU AT ANY MEMORIAL as it is not allowed by the law, and for that you need a license guide that we can book it for you for an extra cost! John did his best to please you and as you said to him you were very please & you have learned a lot of the Jewish and the Greek culture! Hope we will have the chance to see you again in the near future and offer you our best services!

We enjoyed very much the tour. Our driver Peter Carabellas was very helpful because he took us everywhere and explained many facts about Athenas. However, the car that you sent us was very small for 4 adults and the driver. We were very tight and we hardly fit in it. That made our tour a little uncomfortable. But at the end we learned a lot of that city. We had a great time thanks to Peter.

The knowledge and kind manner of George was bar none! No question was too big or too small. We learned SO MUCH! The tour guide was great and we took our time at all of the sites. We even went to a Bar Mitzvah at the synagogue. The tour The tour included other non-Jewish sites since the Jewish sites do not fill the day. This is a great way to combine a Jewish tour with a regular tour.
