Meeting time is too early!
Marjorie_C, Apr 2024
The floating market was a play of colors, sounds and Thai culture. But the tour has more things to improve on: - call time is too early. we were picked up at 630am from our hotel but the tour started at 730 from River City, so we had around 45mins of waiting time. - the tour could have started at 8am then went straight to the floating market instead of stopping by a coconut farm (that looked like a tourist trap) for 45mins. We got to the floating market around 10am and spent only 1.5h there. - the tour guide and driver talked non-stop in the van the whole time! They were noisy! - the van was bumpy & the driver drove so fast

Not bad

The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market was a unique experience that was exciting at first and made for great pictures, but felt too much like a tourist trap after a while. The food and items being sold in the market were all the same: pad thai, mango w sticky rice, etc., which didn't even taste that good. Overall, I would say this was an OK experience and do not feel particularly thrilled to revisit this place.
Great experience!

The tour was really good with the guide being very knowledgeable and making sure we adhered to the busy schedule. The only thing I would change is to skip the coconut farm experience so we had more time at the floating market.
Amazing!

Absolutely worth every cent everything was perfect other than the flat tire on the way back into the city but that was out of their control. Highly recommend!! Our guide was great and we were able to purchase and sample tons of unique foods and souvenirs.
Excellent tour

A must see

A must see in Thailand. Really fun and hectic floating market. Our guide was great. Would recommend.
Coconut ice cream
Keith_H, Feb 2024
An early start before masses of tourists arrive allows you to tour the market in relative comfort. Uncrowded canals enable you to see what is being sold from the boats. Later the waterways were jammed obscuring much of the view. A cooling ice cream is a treat.
Very professional

We booked a private tour with a Hotel pickup. Our guide Amy and driver Lek showed up on time and we proceeded to the floating market. Amy was extremely informative and navigated any and all obstacles with ease. I had done this tour eleven years ago and a lot has changed. The popularity of the market and all of the competing tour groups has taken away the charm of what the marketplace once was. The canals are jam-packed with boats but very few sellers are operating from boats. The ratio of sellers' boats to tour boats looked to be eight to one. I highly recommend this company because of the ease of booking and their professionalism.

Tour guide was very lively and educated. Started on time and even got to see the train market as well.Great experience
Not a tourist trap! Perspective.

My tour guide Kay and bus driver Kai were a very great pair. Kay had a great sense of humor and was very attentive and considerate when it came to when to talk and when to stop. I really like the price I got for the whole trip. It doesn’t tell you that on the itinerary but it was a great tour for the price of 3. It’s not a tourist trap if you’re a big foodie like me.
Save your money!!!

That is the sad thing is I didn’t even take pictures the guide was so boring and bossy! I did the exact same tour with your company and what a night and day difference! This time no information and we only visited half the spots as last time! Lucky was so bossy and the only information she gave she said I’ve and over and over and over…..
Well-organized tour, comfy vehicle & helpful + jolly Tour Guide! :-)
Annlyn_T, Sep 2023
Tour was well-organized and considered our last minute request for hotel pick up. Very comfy vehicle for our small group. Our tour guide was also very considerate and helpful in giving tips re restos, shops, what-nots etc. Khun Dum-dum provided travel insights in a very fun way... no dull moment. Overall our family had a blast even for just a half day tour -- it was like a full day of very beautiful & interesting sights that made us appreciate this side of Thailand. Highly recommended as side trip from BKK.
Incomplete information
Leslie_S, Sep 2023
The online description was very incomplete. It stated the tour was 2 hours. The description failed to mention that there was a two hour bus ride there and another two hours back, to a different location. The lack of complete information was very frustrating and destroyed other plans.
Book and don’t hesitate!

Sure that i will recommend this trip! you know why? there is two reasons: 1. Our tourist guide (Boieng)was amazing, funny, helfull and so kind. without him this tour woukd not be the same! he was teaching us a lot about Thai culture, values and some stuff. As well the driver (Ped) was really kind offering us some sweets and making many stops to show as so many interesting things about Thai culture. 2. 2. Is cheaper to book this tour than go by yourself because (the train takes like 90minutes and to get to the train station you it take 1hour more, sure that for less price but you will be in a public transport that you don’t know how it will be) and the minivan of us was really nice, comfortable and with air conditioner; and then you would manage to look for a cheap boat trip (it cost around 300bat/person)so…sure that will be the cheapest and nice way to go to the floating market with this Tour by Viator.
Decent tour with great tour guide
Khizar_R, Aug 2023
Pick up - The hotel pick up was very early and after joining the tour at the main pick up point, we were made to wait another hour before leaving - we were only less than 5 minutes from the main pick up point. Transport was comfortable and Ping was an excellent guide - At the end she sent us all the photos that she had taken during the tour - a very nice touch. The tour included a stop at a coconut factory - seemed a bit of a tourist trap but it was an OK stop. The floating market itself was OK with the boat trip being nice and being able to buy from the boat (get the coconut ice cream) - otherwise the souvenirs were overpriced. You only get about an hour to roam the market itself and it seemed a bit rushed given the transfer was almost 2 hours each way. I would recommend a later start, no stop at the coconut place and spend the majority of time in the market.
Nice half day trip to leave Bangkok for some hours
Ewelina_C, Jul 2023
It was amazing to see the traditional house on the way to the market. The floating market itself is a short visit, interesting to experience since it’s the original one but now quite commercial. You can do some shopping on the regular market just beside the river, and have a nice lunch and delicious coconut ice cream.
Very enjoyable journey
Andrew_Y, Jul 2023
Excellent tour and the guide was excellent and professional. We really enjoyed the visit of the markets and trying out the street food which were very delicious
It was a good day at the Market.....
Tim_M, Jul 2023
The market was vibrant and exciting. Lots to see and do. The food was delicious. Lots of good shopping deals. My only complaint is that the free time spent at the market could have been an hour longer. we had 1 hour 15 min for lunch and shopping which was not really enough to get around as see all the vendors.
Coconut Farms and Floating markets! A Bangkok must.
Kristopher_D, Jul 2023
Incredible experience! Visiting the local coconut farm and helping make sugar was a lot of fun. The floating market does not disappoint!! And the food, wow! Our guide, Peng was friendly and went the extra mile to make everything run smoothly. Our van had two other families in it and we all had a great time together.
