What To Expect

Arrive at Berlin’s Warschauer U-Bahn Station in the morning, where you’ll meet your knowledgeable guide. Begin your walking and eating exploration by heading to Berlin’s Raw Market, a site that will help put the city’s incredible transformation between 1865 and 1989 into context. If you start to feel hungry for more than just information, not to worry: a stop at one of Berlin’s best kebab shops is just around the corner.

Continue your foot-powered food adventure as you explore some of East Berlin’s trendiest art galleries, Soviet-era boulevards and colorful street art before taking a break for ‘Flammenkuchen,’ a flatbread style German tart at a local restaurant. You’ll also stop by another boutique bakery, where you can sample a variety of cakes and pastries.

Still have room for more tasty snacks? Enjoy some Currywurst, one of Berlin’s most iconic street-style sausage meals, and then sample a taste of the city’s immigrant community as you enjoy a special Turkish sweet. You’ll finish your trip at the East Side Gallery, one of the most famous remaining sections of the Berlin Wall, including the chance to try one last special food treat.

Friendly and fun guide, food plan can be improved

Felix was very friendly and welcoming. Told us some things about Berlin history and made sure we are safe crossing streets. I think the food choices can be improved though. We finished the tour without even tasting their famous Schnitzel. Also i think most of us (esp men) felt the food quantity was barely enough if I have to compare it to my food tours in 7 other countries which were also slightly cheaper. But nevertheless, i suggest this is a must thing to do in Berlin :)

Overpriced for what you get

I liked the combo of walking and eating in the Mitte area. Our guide was nice and tried to keep it energetic with 3 solo strangers, but didn’t really seem to order ahead or reserve table space for us, so we wasted some time waiting for food or seating. In total, I ate half a kebab sandwich, a few slices of currywurst, a few pieces of donut, a square of rhubarb pastry, a shared plate of spaetzle, a piece of flatbread pizza, and half an IPA. The guide’s food and drink also comes out of your trip cost. If you go, bring your own hand sanitizer for shared plates / eating with your hands. This tour should cost no more than $75, was not worth $103.

Food fun and beer

Francesco was an absolutely incredible guide. Not only was it a great food tour, but we got some history and recommendations for the rest of our trip. He let me stop and grab a beer and even gave some strong suggestion. We had two types of currywurst, some pork nuckle, sour cherry strudel, donuts, and of course a kebap.

This was an amazing tour with a brilliant guide! Fonteini was a wonderful host and had great stories about the history and where we went. The food was delicious - definitely do not need breakfast if you are going. Highly enjoyable morning and recommend this to anyone going to Berlin

Amazing 1/2 day spent with Francesco, he knew so much about the city, the culture and the history of Berlin. We learned so much and ate so much fantastic food - kebap, sour cherry flan, Currywurst, Spätzle, Flammenkuchen...and who knew vegan doughnuts would be so good! Highly highly recommended, you'll see and learn about loads of things you would never find out for yourself. If you're coming to Berlin make it the first thing that you do. 5*
