We meet and park in the Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant Overflow Parking Lot between the two Pillars next to the "SLOW DOWN" sign. Please park up front by our white truck and trailer. The back parking is for Kilauea Lodge Employees only.

This tour/activity will have a maximum of 12 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Two-wheeling in Volcano

Our guide was excellent, Kalven (sp?). He was patient and very knowledgeable about the volcano and the Hawaiian history. He made sure we were all comfortable with the bikes before heading out. Be prepared for rain and sun. You will most likely see both. The rain does not take away from the tour. The bikes are heavy but comfortable to ride once you get used to anticipating the drive motor.

Don't waste your money

Volcano National Park is a hiking location. There are many hikes through the woods and into the volcano areas. There are no bike trails. If you ride e-bikes on the Fat Tire E-Bike Tour to the park you do not have the opportunity to do any of the hikes. You will be biking on the road in the same lane as the cars. Entry to the park is only $30 per car load of persons and well worth exploring on your own. The bikes are heavy and one size fits all despite representations as to size accommodation. Don’t waste your money on this misleading tour.

The Best Way to see the Volcano

My first time on the Big Island, what a wonderful way to experience the volcano park. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area, the whole tour went smoothly and the E bikes were very easy to ride. The tour was the right length of time and we didn’t feel rushed. Thank you so much for a fantastic experience.

Sister Biking Excursion

My sister and I ended up being the only people participating in our 9am tour on a rainy morning, so it felt like we got our own private tour of Volcanoes National Park. Tylor was our very personable and knowledgable guide, and we can't recommend him enough. We had the opportunity to see certain parts of the park in a way we wouldn't have otherwise been able to by car. I would recommend bringing clothing for rain, because it's very likely there could be at least some. We thought the tour was excellent. Our only suggestion would be to provide some bikes that are a bit smaller in frame, because as a shorter person, I did find it a bit challenging to mount and unmount the bike with how tall and heavy they are (even with the seat at its lowest point). Still would highly recommend for a fun way to explore the park! Thank you!

A great tour

My daughter and I took the e-bike tour. We both loved it. Tylor was our guide, it was like hanging out with a friend. He was so friendly and very knowledgeable about the foliage, history of the area and the volcano. We both agreed it was one of the top experiences of our visit to the Big Island. I highly recommend this adventure.

We really enjoyed our ride, the sights & our guide was great. The road wasn’t as busy as I had expected. Our guide gave us a lot of great information. The only thing I didn’t like was how fast the power on the bike started. I got used to it & started with no pedal assist

Bring rain gear and a towel!

The picture for this tour is deceiving. You are on the rainforest side of the island and it rains a lot. Be prepared and bring waterproof clothing on this ride. Thankfully, they sold rain jackets but it was still cold and wet. Navigating the bikes can be difficult and sharing the streets with traffic can be a little intimidating. The bikes are heavy, and I did take a spill. I wasn’t hurt, but these bikes can have a mind of their own. If it wasn’t raining, it may have been more enjoyable. In spite of the cold and rain, the tour guides were amazing.

My husband and I did this Easter Sunday and because of this it was much less crowded. We had the best tour guide in Taylor! He was informative and this was a lot of fun! The landscapes, craters, rainforest was otherworldly! A must do!

Amazing way to see the park. Loved blending natural beauty with exercise. Was a beautiful day - sun came out - and our guide, Tylor, was super knowledgeable. Range of ages in our group, and everyone got the hang of the bikes. Pro tip - go a little early and have lunch at the Kilauea Lodge - it was delicious and a great start to the ride!

One of our favorite tours on Kona! Must do!! The tour guide was so knowledgeable about the volcano and the Hawaiian history. The E-bikes glided up and down the terrain with ease and even with all of the rain at the end of the tour, it was a blast!
